Please rent the vehicles full of gas, so they can be returned full. Asking a customer to return a vehicle with a 7/16 full gas tank is rediculous.
booked for 830, confirmed for 830, was told to wait until 9 when we got there, didnt get the van out until 940, and then they didnt have the equipment we rented, had to carry some furniture by hand without the dolly. super messy parking, no organization. Someone blocked my car, and they told me to go find the owner myself, 15 min after them telling me they would take care of it.
19.99 as advertised but i ended up paying $89 per day. Im not sure what that $19 advertisement is when it's not the accurate cost. Anyway, I like the weston location. Van and office were clean, staff were nice.
The service was very bad. It took 1 hr to get my rental even though it was reserved online because of multiple errors from the staff (first giving a truck that was behind other trucks, then the door being locked and then being stuck behind a pickup from a trailer). The inside was very dirty in the cabin and the rental did not drive well at all and did not feel safe.
No smoking in the vehicles. It smelled like an ashtray.

Your computer systems are terrible and I waited for over an hour to get my deposit back because there was an issue with the computer system. Your policy regarding no deposit needed if using visa debit is not applicable in Canada.. you should state that on website/app. At least you have friendly staff.. I feel bad they are sitting under terrible florescent lights all day with no music. That's borderline torture.
Truckshare 24/7 doesn't work, and you're forced to pay the convenience fee of $20 to drop off your truck after hours. I was not able to upload any photos, and it was a huge hassle to pick up the truck. We were lucky that the in-person office was open, but do not count on the app working for you.
It was a great experience. All equipments were kept very clean. "Sunny" facilitated the equipment smoothly. Hassle free process.
The girl at the front desk was really pleasant and went out of her way to help us. The lady with braided her was rude, obnoxious and very unprofessional. When I asked her for help, her response was just go inside, and when I asked for where the truck was parked she just said â€œ you gotta go get the truck yourself towards the back and wouldn't give me directions. If I was the owner of that location I would promote the lady at the front desk and fire the other one. I like the U haul contact less experience and would definitely recommend it to a friend. I do want to know if any action has been taken asagist the employee with braided hair. If no action is taken then I will file an official complaint with the better business bureau.
Did not get what I reserved online.
In the reservation I did a week in advance through the mobile app I ordered a Dolly but when we reached the front desk the lady said there was none available. Also we couldn't use the mobile app in our Android phone to retrieve the truck. We got stuck when trying to take picture of driver so we had to go to the front desk. At the front desk everything was quick and the truck was ready to drive it. Very clean. Drop off was also easy.
Staff was amazing. Really helped me out.
Arrived in morning to pick up the trucks down asked for advice she just walked away. Maybe not her job but could have given some direction. Checked in online. Finally found the truck which was still all blocked in. She said she would unblocked the truck but never let us know it was done. Poor communication. Arrived at 8 am and never left til 9 am. So much for quick online check in.
I ended up being charged twice for things I didn't need / ordered.
When booking the rental from your website I requested a dolly. When I arrived at the location, they informed me that they had no dollies, and that despite my booking one on the website, they don't guarantee a dolly. I had to go purchase a dolly from Home Depot because I needed one to move a piece of 300lb furniture.

Different people told me to stop it off at different locations. Wasn't clear, happy it didn't turn into a problem though. Just confusing instructions.
Your customer service is really poor. Also, changing a reservation last minute without consulting your clients is annoying, a lot.
This location could use more staffs to deal with the month end movers' demand. It could enhance the business volume further.

Terrible customer service experience from start to finish. To begin, your booking system is extremely difficult to navigate. On the day of my pickup i realized the location of my rental changed without my consent, requiring me to take a 45 minute journey across the city to retrieve my vehicle. Once I arrived at the pickup location I attempted to use the mobile check-in, where I was told to search for 3 different vehicles that I could not find. Once I was able to find the vehicle an error appeared and I was told to check-in with the attendant after-all. Once checking-in with the attendant I had made note that the location was changed which was an inconvenience and the app check-in system does not seem to be working well. This feedback was barely met with an acknowledgement let alone an apology. We were presented with a detail of charges double what was originally quoted on my confirmation, the attendant was not able to appropriately explain why this had happened. Further, the payment system was not working properly which resulted in further delays. The pick-up process took 40 minutes, combined with a 45 minute drive through traffic to get to the new location. This was a major inconvenience. We returned the vehicle after hours and attempted to use the mobile system to return. The system again was not working. This came as no surprise to the lot attendant who immediately told me just to call the customer service line so I don't get an additional charge. I waited on hold to speak to someone at customer service for 15 minutes before giving up. I received my final invoice through email with an after-hours drop off fee as well as a cleaning fee which were never quoted to me on pick-up. I left no mess in the vehicle warranting any additional charges. As a final note, throughout the rental facility there was no hand sanitizer present, nor was there any indication of additional measures taken to mitigate risk of Covid-19 both in the facility, or in the vehicle. While I am not at high risk, it is shocking that such a large corporation does not mandate such procedures to keep their customers informed and at ease. The physical product of the vehicle was fine, but the experience overall was completely inacceptable. It is clear that U-Haul has made every attempt to increase profits by reducing staffing levels at the expense of the customer experience. I have rented the same cargo van from Enterprise in the past and the booking, billing, check-in/out and customer service was straightforward and reassuring for a fraction of the price. I have no faith that someone will read or take action to this feedback however would be remiss if I did not express my dissatisfaction. In future I will never use U-Haul again and will actively dissuade anyone from using your service.
