I was charged for two days when I was back before 5 and I only used the truck for four hours. If I hadn't checked my bank account when I did, I would have been charged an overdraft fee. I had to transfer money from my savings account. I called the Rutland location try and get a refund and the employee told me that the manager would call me right back. I didn't receive the call. I'll suck up the $40-50 overcharge this time, but I'm never going bank to u-haul. My brother told me he has had the same terrible experience with these folks. Looks like I'll go to Penske from now on.

I informed the lady on the phone that I would need this for 24 hours and was told this was fine. The day I picked this up I was informed they needed this back by 3pm the next day. This was not 24 hours, not happy as I rented this for 24 hours. Not my problem if you over booked!

I was overcharged for the insurance. I purchased 14$ insurance plan, and was charged for 28$. I had a one day rental for 15' truck, and was charged for two days. I had the vehicle for 2 hours, and 9.9 miles. I went back to location I rented truck, they acknowledged mistakes , but did not fix mistakes, and charges were withdrawn from my banking account. I was overcharged by @ 50$.

I arrived with a reservation for a cargo trailer and the person said it was not available and she was rude as well. I asked about the guarantee and was told that since I was 30 minutes late I won't get the $50 payment that the guarantee provides. The terms of the guarantee do not state anything about being on time for the rental. The trailer wasn't available even if I was on time and I paid with a credit card in advance so that should not matter. Most unsettling part was that she was rude.

We reserved a motorcycle trailer a week ahead of time & have my credit card to reserve it and the trailer was there when we reserved it as we saw it in the lot & were at the location & reserved it w/ the manager. When we went to pick it up it was not there it had been rented to someone else. We had to get a heavier trailer to haul our bike from VT to FL & back & pay more tolls because of the added axel. More gas because of the added weight. Not to mention I even called the Uhaul location on my way to reconfirm we were picking it up & what were picking up & the woman we spoke to acknowledged we were all set. We were very displeased with the overall experience

Focus on service excellence. Customers should feel delighted when they leave, I felt as if there were more important things going on, as if customers were an inconvenience. Not only in my transaction but with the person served before me too. It’s not that hard to get the little things right, suggest by keeping the smart phones out of your associates hands when behind the counter or around the shop unless the technology needs to be accessed for the transaction process, and there it would be obvious based on the interaction. Otherwise, the equipment worked as expected, it was clean and pricing was fair. Final comment, if a vehicle is being rented with a full tank of fuel, it should have a full tank or noted correctly otherwise.

replace your manager, crystal whitcomb, 270 main st. rt. 7 rutland Vt. 05701, terrible people skills and short with customers. She handled a call while i awaited. I was the only person in line. as soon as she got off the phone, she was bad mouthing the phone customer in front of me to her assistant (cody). the car trailer had a directional problem and had to be trouble shot in the garage as it was the only trailer on the property. as i was on a tight schedule after flying into boston, she suggested i drive to middlebury to get another trailer 2 + hours round trip. I felt it was her/uhauls problem that there was an equipment failure and that the trailer should be delivered to the Rutland store. She argued with me and told me that " uhaul does not deliver". She was condescending with an attitude. that was the worst rental vehicle company experience have had. after all the wire repair were complete on the trailer, it turned out to be the truck. total waiting time from start to finish 3 hours. I had to call my my mid morning pick up appointment and change it. after talking to another guy, he told me that that rutland store always has problems and is not reputable. I also didn't appreciate the truck being signed out as full, when it was actually very slightly over 3/4 tank of gas, I didn't complain because i wanted out of there! The gauge did work properly as i had filled it several times.

there was one young man named Cody working there who was rude, disrespectful, had a very poor attitude who even went so far as to speak poorly of u-haul telling another customer who was there in front of us not to rent a truck because u-haul would want your "first born" and all sort of personal information before they would rent. When asked how things were going he responded with " Living the dream" in a sarcastic way.

The truck smelled like smoke. I had to sweep out the truck before I used it. The “technology” always seems to be an issue. I would love to give this place ZERO stars
