I ordered my pick up truck months in advance and called the night before to confirm it I get there early to pick it up and they tell me the person didn't return it and they don't have a truck for me this was in the downtown charleston location I live on James island just 10 min away they send me to North Charleston to get a new truck 30 min away from me 20 miles so 40 miles all together double what I would have used if I picked my truck up where I ordered it from.. I was told I would get a discount on mileage since I had to go way out of my way... I get to North Charleston they tell me they have a cargo truck and that I have to put down 100$ security with the pick up I didn't have to do that... so I get the truck I use it I dropped it back off before they opened I called later that day because I realized about 70$ missing from my bank account... to rent a truck for the day it is 19.95.. I put gas back in it and when I called I didn't get to speak to someone at that location and they told me they charged me 69$ because I estimated 50miles and I drove 52 and that I needed to speak with someone at that location... well they don't pick up the phone and why should I go hunting down the money I was owed because of something that was their problem... so now I guess I'm not getting that money back unless I drive out of my way 20 miles once again! Your service sucked and I want my money back

Make it known that the time the truck is rented is the the time it's due back. It's inconvenient to rent a truck at 7am, drive across time zones or state lines and to turn it in at 7am when majority of storage places no longer have 24 gate access and gates aren't accessible until 8 or 9 am.

Originally, I was scheduled to pick up at a different location @6:30 PM, and they closed at 5:00 PM. I had Hurricane Irma approaching and a daughter to move w/whole house of furnishings. I was very upset, Customer Service was somewhat helpful, and gave a $50 credit for my troubles, but the anguish was greater than $50 at that moment. I had made several calls about this reservation and even stopped at a West Columbia branch for assistance. W/Irma on the way, I knew I could not be w/out a truck for moving. Not sure why computer isn't set up to schedule pickup only during branch location's hours. Very short-sighted on UHaul.

was told when i rented trailer that when i turned it in i would receive a pro rated refund because i turned it in a day early was told at turn in point that was not possible

I had no idea they would charge the debit card i used when i kept it out an additional day. Had i known that i would have brought in my credit card that day. However the people were super nice and did their job but could not change rhe second charge from the second day. I know this shouldnt have happened because i did this at another location and they charged me 50 upfront and then the remainder at the end. Im going with budget next time
