Nothing to change about this U-Haul rental, and U-Haul Founders Sam and Mary Ann Shoen would have been proud. A++ service and helpfulness at this location, and U-Haul has won back my business because of this. And I will use U-Haul AT THIS DEALER for my truck and trailer needs again in the future. Here’s why: I have not used ANY U-Haul equipment since 2000-2001 although I have rented trucks and trailers multiple times since then. The reason I refused to use U-Haul after about 2001 is that I was tired of consistently getting terrible service with LONG wait times, employees with bad attitudes or who clearly didn’t CARE, and the equipment was often broken and/or dirty. (In my very last rental with U-Haul back then, I almost lost a hand due to one of their broken loading ramps. Had I not reacted quickly, the suddenly “unstuck” ramp would have severed or severely damaged my hand at the wrist.). I was not surprised to hear that soon after my last “Close Encounter of the Severed Kind “, the company was losing money and then filed for bankruptcy in June 2003. Obviously, the son of Sam...and Mary—Edward Shoen—and Amerco, the parent company of U-Haul, figured out what they needed to do to save their customers and the company. After I researched it, their stock (UHAL) was $4.03 at the time of filing for bankruptcy. Today it is at $369.27 as of the time of this review. Who won me back? —the U-Haul dealer Michael Cycoon at the 4635 North Blythe Ave location in Fresno, CA who was VERY helpful with the rental of a car tow dolly. He worked fast and efficiently. He even was very gracious with time when we realized my tow hitch would not work with the equipment he had: although his store was closing in minutes, he graciously waited for me to run across the street to a hardware store to get a part I needed for my tow hitch receiver. After returning with the part, I discovered that the other company had sold me the wrong hitch pin for the tow bar & ball I had just purchased for my truck’s alternate tow hitch receiver we needed to use with the U-Haul equipment. The U-Haul store was already closed at that point so I was in a pickle. When the dealer saw my predicament, he offered to let me borrow a pin he had and to return it the next day with the trailer. It worked...and he was able to complete the trailer hookup quickly so I could be on my way! Thanks again for everything, Mike! And I greatly appreciate that you put your cell phone number on your business card—another indication that you care about service. Dana Scott of Fresno, CA P.S. Pick up consisted of a very rude gentleman that was yelling at a lady on the phone. When he hung up he was talking bad about women. It took over 30 minutes to get the truck. Drop off was another rude gentleman that was outside and was frustrated with us pulling in but didn’t say anything on where to go. Site was jammed with trucks that it was hard to get out of.

The customer services given from the gentleman was poorly situated. I did not receive a receipt until after my rental and i was charged for insurance when I did not approve or authorized it!

This is my favorite location. Quick and easy and always friendly. Customer derives is excellent. I would always use this location as my first choice. Defiantly better than the Blackstone and Bullard location there they hardly ever have enough staff and it’s always a extremely long wait.
