It is not fair that I was charged for 19 extra miles yet I was forced to return to a U-Haul location much further from my destination. My destination to the U-Haul facility was at least 9 miles and U-Haul should pay this charge because there were U-Haul facilities much closer to my final destination.

The lady over the phone that confirmed the reservation was very rude when I asked her why they changed my pick up location to that one in the Bronx and she even hang up the call without giving me enough details really bad service... But then coming in the girl at the counter was really nice and very helpful and even got me a driver for the moving since my friend that was gonna drive had his license expired, it made everythig more simple, I recommend the location regardless of the first bad experience over the phone.

My fiance and I arrived a half hour before we were scheduled to get our van. The line was fairly long, and it was past 9 by the time we got our van. Additionally, about a week before our renting date, I realized that we would need an additional hour and tried to contact UHaul. Every day, I never managed to speak to a person, and that hold music haunts my dreams. I called, no answer. I emailed, no answer. On the day of, when it was apparent that we really did need that extra hour, in desperation, I contacted the UHaul Twitter account, which FINALLY got me an answer- they needed the van back NOW; the account manager said there were two people waiting for our van. We dropped what we were doing and sped to the location. When we got there, there were 8 vans identical to ours in the lot. We were told that we had already been charged for another 24 hours; I asked if, since that was the case, we could take the van back, as we still had a couch to transport, as well as a few smaller items. The employee said yes. He also told us that the dolly we hadn't brought back due to hurrying back to the location would be put on hold until we brought it back the next day. By the time we reached our apartment that evening, my fiance had been charged for the dolly. To add insult to injury, the location was closed the next day, making it impossible to return it.

I rented a 24 hour truck rental and when I got to the desk they informed me that the truck that I rented at 5 p.m. needed to be returned by 9 a.m. the next morning or otherwise I was going to incur a $250 fee. how is it even possible for a big corporation like Uhaul to pull this kind of bait and switch. I am completely frustrated because the entire purpose of my truck rental was eviscerated. I'm now going to have to rent another truck for the second part of my move which is complete and total b*******.
