Chabge the manager and put someone with more professional edequicts and make them do walk around with trucks im never renting from uhaul in my life again these people at 383 grandconcourse gave me a bad truck and i lost a contract and not even roadside asistance came to help me 200 dollars lost out of my pocket never after 4 yrs using uhaul i will never rent again

Fine location, but in the event that the attendant is no longer there and one's cell phone is dead, drop off is a little stressful. And the semi-circle drive should be labeled as an area NOT to leave a vehicle because it's not clear that people should be pulling in to the area until people are honking at you because they have nowhere to go.

Customer service was extremely rude ! Also was forcing me to take a vehicle I did not need ... on Saturday when I made the reservations Ms. Lilly was very nice and respectful also told me if a van was Available I can take it .. I not know who attended me on Sunday when I came in the morning to pick up a van but she was extremely rude and desrespectful

Uhaul switched my pick up location 24 hours before my pick up. Not nearby considering it's NYC it took an extra HOUR to get there and another to get back! Also it added mileage to my drive which you then CHARGED me for! All in all you guys suck, big negative reviews going out.

I like that they had lock and key for the back of the truck the first ever i saw at a uhaul facility that was great the line when you walked was a little long but overall i would prefer to go to this location your truck is readily available please keep this location open great job guys they are also friendly

The worst worldwide vehicle rental experience I have had to date. I had arranged for a 7an self pickup, as the office did not open until 9am. I found the van on the street and went through the entire procedure through the app on my phone.... the self photo, the photo of my license, etc.... Finally, it gives me a code for the lockbox to get the keys to the vehicle. But when I opened the box, there were no keys there. I looked all around on the ground, I tried the code on other boxes, I looked in the vehicle. Nothing. So I chose the "I cannot access the keys" option and it have me the phone number of someone named Mickey.... I tried that number at least 6 times... no response, only voice mail.... so I did leave a message. I called customer service and spoke with Leanne, who tried to send me the code for another box in the hope that the keys were there, but there was no functionality on the app to reopen up my contract. When I went back to Leanne on the phone she was gone. I was either disconnected or she hung up. I called again and spoke to Latoya, who left me on hold so long that the call went into voice mail. I called back again and got Latoya again, who left me on hold so long again that it went to voicemail. Luckily right then, a very nice West Indian gentleman, I believe he was the cleaner, showed up and was able to give me keys to another van. At this point it was 7:50.... my reservatin was for 7am.... as I had arrived prior to 7am, it took me an hour to get going, making me late with the items I had to deliver to my client.... who was not happy. Upon my return, I had to wait on line again for some time before getting to speak with a very nasty woman who told me she was going to have to open a new contract for me and cancel the old one... which I could not spend the time doing. She tried to contact "The Manager" by phone, with no luck. At this point I left. The manager will have to call me to straighten it out. This is a complete failure of both UHaul procedure and a total lack of active, caring management. The only intelligent person there is the West Indian gentleman. He should be the manager, not the cleaner.

Location at 383 concourse was not my original point of return. Original location, were I was directed by u-haul was at 2276 1st av in Manhattan. There I was rejected on the pretense that U-haul representative was not available. It happened after I parked the truck ( they had space). They forced me to drive to this other location . There (at 383 concourse) I got perfect help and service. Guys at 383 were very professional, efficient and helpful.

I was overcharged. They charged me for insurance that I had declined and also for gas even though I returned it with more gas thtn I had left with. Then when I called it they kept putting me on hold for over a half hour before telling me that my issues were not as important as other people who were on line even though this was an issue of me being overcharged and incurring an overdraft fee, and I was trying to explain to them that I was already being helped by someone and that I had gotten hung up on after they had put me on hold. I literally had to call 15 times before they corrected the mistake.. or at least one of them anyway, they still have not refunded me for a supposed 1.5 gallons of gas that it was short... even though I literally had just bought gas before I returned the truck and it was over what I had initially left with. They were really not very professional and I doubt I will rent from this location again. I usually stick to the BQE location or the 23rd street location and I should not have strayed from that initial strategy.. I think next time I might look for other truck rental options.

I was told I would receive a discount at the location by the woman who scheduled my pick up. I was told this because my location was confirmed and then changed on me two hours prior to pick up. The location was completely inconvenient to get to and I started my move later than expected. When I arrived at the pick up location they denied me my discount and told me I should have asked for it over the phone. I did so and was told to ask for it at the store. Neither party took responsibility and in the end I was the one who got shafted for it. Completely unprofessional!

The service received was excellent. Associates were very courteous and ensure I was satisfied. On the down side my mattress was damaged from the oily quote on the floor cover of the cargo van.

We reserved our uhaul online, and it gave us the option of choosing self check-in and skipping the line. So we chose that and when we got there, we started going through the steps until someone told us that we'd have to go inside anyway. Apparently the self check-in isn't an option for that location. For better customer service, I would suggest that that option be removed from the website for this location as it's really frustrating to think you won't have to wait in line and then it turns out you have to. It didn't make a nice start to our uhaul experience.

That day there was only 1 person at the cashier. I arrived at 8:20am and didn't get to the counter until close to 9am. There were only 3 people in front of me and the 1st person had already been there for some time so really it took 40min to process 2-3 people. Also the representative at the cashier was very rude. People were not being very nice to her, I admit, but she was not being very nice to people either. By the time I got to her, she was frustrated, I was frustrated and definitely thought she was being mean and curt for no reason. Please decrease wait time and be nice to people! Especially if you are making them wait for a long time, the least you can do is be cordial and respectful.

The place and people were great, but why the horrible policy of calling the day before to confirm, but then surprise us by telling us that the manhattan location has been sold out for months?! it messed up our timeline since we had to pick this truck from a much farther location and we had to pay for extra time from the building mgmt just to continue our moveout. Shouldn't there be atleast better accountability from Uhaul itself to inform its customers of any changes asap and not wait until the day before rental?

I made an initial reservation for a van at a Uhaul dealer in the Manhattan. Half an hour before the pick up time, and while I was on my way to go poick up the truck, I got a call and the very rude lady on the phone told me that my reservation was cancelled because there were no vans available at my initial location. I was asked to go pick up the van in the Bronx, and they refused to not count the mileage from the Bronx location to my house. I asked whether I could return the van at a location in Queens where I was going, and I was told that I could not do that, and that I had to take the van back to the Bronx. So I was charged extra mileage twice through no fault of mine. And after I returned the truck, the following day, I got a message from my bank indicating that there was fraudulent activity in my account through the card I used at the Bronx location. The only time I used my card that day was when I paid for the Uhaul rental. over $600 was used at a farmer's market and a website by someone. The only person who touched my card was a Uhaul employee. So my experience was terrible, I was charge extra, and I believe one of your employee stole my card information.
