issac W.The location where I reserved my Box has not handled boxes in 5-10 years (wow…the system should be updated!) so my order was transferred to Block House. They aren't usually open on Saturday so an employee had to go over just for me. He was very kind and helpful. The rental process was extremely slow on the tablet and computer, it took 1 hour which is completely unacceptable. I learned Uhaul is using software most companies stopped using 1-2 decades ago. It is amazing to me Uhaul is still in business, but they have few or no competitors so customers simply have to deal with an inefficient company.
The staff of Blockhouse storage were clear with communication and folliwed thru with their plan. The South Bend Ubox Traffic Center were not as clear with communication and were actually rather snide in two interactions over the phone. The ENTIRE UBOX Rental experience would rate a 3 out of 10 from me, and I've used Uhaul for at least 4 moves over the past 8 years. The program used by Uhaul does not seem to interface well with the employees entries. I received emails and text messages, AFTER phone arrangements were agreed upon, directing me to call or login to my account to arrange what had JUST been arranged via phone. Multiple emails and texts were confusing to me as they directed the same thing. I would recommend ONE form of interface with the customer to alkevuate miscommunication and confusion. PLUS, fix the employee notes in their system to NOT generate an email/text to the customer telling us to do what was just agreed upon. Maybe an email/text CONFIRMING the next step/ agreed upon step. Truly, this experience will lead me to NOT recommend UBOX. My belongings did arrive in good care and in a reasonable time frame. Thank you. Sheryl Cudney

Marlo W.Do not use U-Boxes! Biggest mistake I made for moving. I was suppose to have 4 boxes delivered on a Saturday after reserving them online. I was never told an exact time they would come so I waited until noon to start calling. I sat on a phone for a total of 3 hours before I finally got forwarded to the location that was delivering my boxes. They informed me the boxes were out of stock and I was out of luck. The only suggestion they had was for me to get a moving truck instead. I had to argue with people before they finally managed to locate some boxes from another state to be delivered over night and they would refund the rent I already paid for them. While this was a solution it did not help the fact that I just lost a whole day where I could pack the boxes to move. I now had just one day to pack the boxes and be out of a house. The location did not refund my money they owed me and I had to go through U-Haul to file a complaint and get my money back. They also tried to charge me rent again a month later and still have not refunded me for that. My boxes were delivered to my new address 11 days later than my guaranteed delivery date. The location is very hard to contact by the number provided by U-Haul. The whole experience was honestly just a nightmare and I will never be using U-boxes again. I've never had problems like this before with a u-haul truck so I did not expect to be this unsatisfied with the boxes.

Michael L.The 800 number is TERRIBLE. I called it at least 5 times and spoke to a human only once. Every time I was put on hold and ended up hanging up after waiting 10 minutes (three times) and over a half hour (twice.) The only way I got useful answers was by going to the local Uhaul and speaking directly to people. And they were always great.

Brian K.Better communication a must! You all lost my uboxes and not one single customer service representative could locate or give any information. It was listed on the website as still at my old address,but they had already been picked up. Super frustrating! Over an hour wait time to speak with a person and the people that did answer were very unprofessional and almost sounded inconvenienced, aside from being unhelpful. Seems like all they did was transfer me to another unpleasant person who of course had no answers. The lady who answered the phone at my drop off location hung up on me twice and the third time literally left me in silence,except for getting my information, then transferred me to I don't know where without going over any details of my order or what the next steps were. They lady I scheduled my delivery with was extremely rude and at one point argued with me and made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about . The only good thing about my experience was my boxes did arrive before scheduled date and everything was still in tact. Needless to say I am not satisfied with the experience and will probably explore other options for my moving needs. I do not recommend, based on my personal experience and also the reviews of others. This apparently is a common occurrence with this company.
Jessica R.I was not informed of the extra charges for "truck use" so my bargain move at $1200 quoted cost a few hundred dollars more to get my stuff back. $160 in georgia and another $100 in Indiana. at the last minute, I HAD to pay or rearrange my entire move. First time ive been disappointed with uhaul. also, the boxes come with too many pads. one pack per box would be sufficient. extra baggage i really didnt have room to pack and i didn't want to be charged for. Pick up and Delivery was great. Pricing was disappointing with the extra fees.

Todd P.Martha directed me to write to you here. I'm looking for compensation (a refund on my delivery fee) due to a number of problems: Problem one: The day before the U-Box drop-off in Michigan City, I received a phone call that my box was 7 minutes away to be delivered. Result: I dropped everything and accommodated your driver within seven minutes. Problem two: The first agent I spoke with on the phone regarding changing my credit card (I was being proactive as the card on my account was being canceled) informed me that the change had been completed. I did this to ensure your company would be paid. Unfortunately a few days later, I still received an email pertaining to a rejected card. I had to call again. This time, a new agent told me that first agent “did not know how to do her job†and that a card couldn't be changed without a payment made. Therefore, my old, now cancelled, card was still on the account. Result: I wasted my time, however, again accommodated and paid my shipping dues early to ensure a card change and to ensure your company would be paid. Problem three: My ubox was to be delivered on a Monday. I left specific instructions that I would not be available by phone but text would work. The box did not come. On Monday I received a voicemail. It stated that because I did not answer a call (that no one told me was coming, no voicemail was left, no text was sent, and no email sent) the day before, Sunday, that I would need to reschedule for delivery of my U-box. Result: I rescheduled the delivery for Wednesday. Problem four: I received call on Wednesday that a driver quit unexpectedly and my box could not be delivered until Thursday. Result: While I understand this was not Martha's fault, it is not mine either. In fact, none of these scenarios were my fault. I was understanding, proactive, rearranged my schedule multiple times to accommodate your company needs, and went above and beyond to work with you to fix your mistakes. After this many scenarios, I'd like for you to accommodate/understand my efforts to help your company. You may do this by crediting the delivery fee back to my credit card on file. Thank you.
