the truck was a death trap. someone did not latch the plastic engine cover thing inside the truck. There was so much heat and fumes inside the cab so I had to have it latched after once someone pointed it it to me as a serious safety issue when i was complaining bout the heat and smell to one of my friends.

The customer service is terrible and the people there are not doing their job accordingly. After returning the truck in a timely manner, I was called by the store and was accused of not returning the truck. Supposedly, the truck was stolen, which at this point I don’t know if that is true or not based on the way I have been treated. I was told by the manager I would not be responsible for any charges and would receive my money back within 24-48 hours. However, that never happened. I had to call after about a week to find out why my money wasn’t returned as I was told would be by the manger. The same manager that said my money would be returned is the same manager that told me that he couldn’t help me when I explained after two weeks now I haven’t received anything. He also advised that I needed to call customer service and then proceeded to hang up on me. He also mentioned that he hoped on good faith that I wasn’t the one who took the truck. That is not the way to treat a customer. My experience with this U-haul store has been the worst I have experienced ever. This is horrible and I feel like I was not only accused of something I am innocent of, but am also being scammed out of money. I have done more work as the customer to follow up on this situation than the manager or employees of the store. This is not the way to conduct business and I will never rent from the u-haul store again.

Faulty Fuel Gauge. Picked up truck from Pat at the De Soto Ave branch, Woodland Hills. Complaint: When refilling fuel in Truck, I kept rechecking fuel gauge only to find that the fuel gauge wouldn't move, causing me to keep filling the truck. I spent $40 filling truck, only to realize later that I should have only paid $10. (Fuel receipts can be provided on request.) This trucks fuel gauge is faulty and I am requesting to be reimbursed / credited for the overspend of approx $30. Calculations: Drove 28 miles, at 10miles per gallon (advertised fuel economy for the a 15' truck) 2.8 gallons x $3.60 per gallon = $10.08 estimated cost Money spent on fuel: $40. Overspend: $30

The drop off location didn't accept the truck, they had no room for it. I had to drive 20 minutes to another location and argue with the person that I don't know what to do with the truck, until they finally accept the truck, by the time they check it and inspect it and did the paperwork, I was passed the return time and I had to pay for extra day and insurance and extra mileage. So all together very inconvenient and lost of headaches and extra charges on my moving day.

Got charged $65 for gas when I returned it full. Someone has made a mistake and charged us 12.5 gallons of fuel. Called 2 times and went back to the drop off and no one can resolve the issue. Clearly it is a mistake considering we only drove 7 miles and returned it full. Next step is to contact my back an inform them if I can’t get it resolved.

The two gentlemen working the counter were rude and unprofessional. They rented me a truck without a ramp then refused to rent me a different one to accomodate my needs. Never going back, nor will I be referring anyone I know.
