I had a terrible experience. I rented a one way truck. Then they asked me to bring it back. Said they would reimburse cash for the gas for the truck to come back, the extra kms that I had already paid for and gas for my own vehicle on return trip. At first they wouldn't reimburse my gas for my vehicle. So now it cost me $40 to do U-Haul a favor. I had to complain to the traffic office that asked me to return the truck. Then it cost me another $40 to come and get my original $40. The temp manager was very rude and told me he could only credit my credit card. The arrangement was for cash. It wasn't until I call U-Haul in front of him that he gave me cash. Not before telling me he was the complaint department and I was wasting my time calling U-Haul. Within seconds of U-Haul asking his name, he handed me $40 cash. So I'm still in the negative $40 because they made me come there twice. I have been using U-Haul for years. I'm now shopping for an alternative.

Make sure the trucks are there on time. We showed up at 630 for a 6pm guaranteed truck and it still wasn't there. It was 45 minutes late when we picked it up. They need to monitor this better and let other customers know that they need to drop off the trucks on time or call in and let the place know that they will be late. We were incoinvienced by this late pick up.

I don't have a problem with staff or location, but your system. I did a reservation for a trailer on Thursday night where I need to fill out all the requirements of vehicle, address, credit card etc. Then come to the actual picking up and all of the above are asked again!!! Why can the process not be streamlined and save some time!! Please!!!

There was a hole in the side of the truck, damage that had not been repaired. The low tire pressure warning was constantly on, and I was advised simply to ignore it as they said the tire pressure was fine, and the warning light was broken. Why is this not fixed? It prevented me from seeing the odometer, since the warning overrode the odometer reading. The functionality to alert me if the tire pressure actually was low was also therefore compromised. I did not feel like U-Haul takes good care of their vehicles, and thus did not feel like it is a company that takes much pride in the service they provide.

Be aware of hidden fees. Inform the customers of all the applicable fees. Was not informed that the insurance is per day, not per rental. Paid an extra $15.00. Was not informed that there is a $30 refuelling charge. I was told that there would only be a $1.39/litter, which is already $0.20 more than the market. Rental charge for one day was $19.95, the next it jumped up to $39.90. So it total got charged an extra $65.00 dollars. Be aware of hidden fees!

We had booked the truck from 10 am to 4 pm. The truck wasn't available to us until 1035 and the return time was unilaterally changed to 330 which left us 1 hour less in which to complete all the moving we needed to do, which was inadequate. We managed to accomplish most but had to borrow a family member's vehicle to move several other items from another location because we no longer had time to collect them as well. The truck had recently been ?stolen and had police markings on the windshield.
