The owner might be more pro-active about greeting a customer and communicating. For some reason he sat outside in his truck, watched me go into the empty store, and then, when I went outside and found him, told me to wait inside. Which I did, by myself for awhile. When he did come in, he said very little. This made me feel like I, the only customer there, was a burden to him. On the other hand, once he had directed me to the lot, he was very quick and efficient about hooking up the trailer. Because I find that Uhaul customer service is routinely pretty awful, I would still rate this service as above average.

My overall experience was good - pick up and drop off were no problem. My issue was with the website and phone service. I requested a 15 ft truck to be picked up in Burlington. I was called less than 48hr prior to pick up and was told the truck broke down but I could pick up van instead in Wilmington. I declined but then had to reschedule and had to take a van due to availability. My first choice was to pick up in Burlington but the van was in Wilmington. Burlington should be deleted from the website if rentals are not available at that location. I was unable to make changes on the website and I was unable to contact anyone for customer service. Very stressful and frustrating.


I dont know how the staff at this location is specifically. The vehicle itself smelled strongly of urine when we picked it up. I had a question about final billing so I called customer service. After a little over 20 minutes on hold I finally got through to a billing rep. She was less than helpful, had an attitude, and when I requested to speak to someone else she gave me a number to call, it was different than the one I originally called so I didn't think much of it. I called the number and it routed me back to the same automated service I got the first time. I wasn't waiting 20 minutes again just to get the same lady again so I gave up. Poor experience overall.

I left my tape measure in the truck, I've called and requested someone to see if they found it, however, I only get a dispatcher that 'passes the message on', and I have yet to receive a call back. The location is 45 minutes away, so I just want a confirmation on whether or not they have it or not before travelling there. I wish there was a way to just call the location directly and talk to a human that was there.

The 5X8 cargo trailer came unhitched on 287 south in NJ doing 45 mph going around a curse. Due to the grace of God I am still alive and did not cause a major accident. The UHaul hitch unscrews with vibration and should be redesigned. It is actively unsafe. I had to retighten it every morning before driving for the day. Never again. They took a hitch design which is perfect on every boat hitch in the world, saved money by eliminating the jack, and came up with this disaster. Only the safety chains saved me. Beware!

Drove away from location and gas cap light came on. Pulled over to tighten and was never told about a padlock on the back. Had to call to get combo to take it off.

Not a high level of Customer service at the location. Truck had cans rolling around under the seat from the previous user. The truck got the job done but was not impressed with the experience overall. Don't mean to complain just want to provide honest feedback.

On pickup, there was one uHaul employee handling about 10 customers, so I had to wait an almost an hour past my reservation time. During drop off, only one employee who was in the bathroom for 15 minutes when i got there so the store was completely empty. Then no help from employee to take trailer off my truck and no receipt on the spot. Do better at Wilmington, Ma location with staffing and who you hire.

Though returning the vehicle went fine, I was really unhappy with the customer service in the store. I had to wait in line for almost an hour when there was only one couple in front of me in line behind the person being helped when I came in. I wanted to return some moving equipment that I bought at the UHaul in Maryland before my move because I hadn't ended up using it and the UHaul in Maryland assured me I would be able to return it to any location. The Wilmington customer service rep told me that I couldn't return things to a different UHaul than I bought them at unless it was for store credit and when I threatened to inquire further with the other location and get legal help, he caved and let me return it for money back. I felt irritated and like they had tried to swindle me.

The staff were helpful and friendly. I would have appreciated if staff were wearing masks (none was). The onus should not be entirely on the customer to self-protect, and masks at both ends has been shown to significantly decrease the possible risk of CoViD transmission. U-Haul should have a policy for this, as do other commercial chains.

We rented a cargo van from this location. Although they knew that the van had a profound odor of urine, they put a 'hanging tree' over the rear view mirror and gave it to us. When I called UHaul to report this, I was on hold for 20 minutes. I finally spoke to someone who said they would include it in the notes for the case and I would receive some type of compensation for the EXTREME discomfort and disgust of riding in a toilet for four hours. We had to have the window open and the AC on. Although we had initially rented the van for 24 hours, we returned it within four. There was no compensation on our bill, we were charged 86.00 for a van we rented for four hours and drove 55 miles. To say that I am utterly disappointed is an understatement.

Smelled of smoke and dirty and not sanitary or cleaned also didn't get sanitizer and got charged insurance when said no three times and took over hour just to pick up truck employee was more worried bout complaining

The service was great and the agent, Adrian Booker, did a great job for me. The van was ready when I arrived and was spotless. The mileage in the final invoice was accurate. I have recommended this location to friends in the past and will be back.

I think you need to give out printed copies of the contract at pickup. I always check my encase there is a problem while using the equipment and If I need to show prof of usage for the equipment. The sales person told me it was texted and emailed to me. I though that was good. Then later in the day when I went to check the contract to confirm the return time I found out that I could not open/read the attachments to the email. I appears that however you are encoding them I doesn't work on my I-phone.

Very fast and convenient! Great experience was very impressed on how fast the check out process was. Only discrepancy is I was charged for dropping off at wrong location but that wasn't the locations fault.
