I called a location near my home to ask if a van was available at that location, and was told "yes" and that the van would be ready to pick up in 30 minutes. I then reserved the van. Relying on this reservation, I then made the necessary arrangement with others for moving my property. About 10 minutes later, I received a call from UHaul saying a van was not available at that nearby location, and was given the address of a location across town where I would have to pick it up. I asked if I could drop off the van when I was finished at the location where I had reserved it, near my house, and was told "no," I would have to drop it off at the far away location. I felt trapped into doing this because I had already committed myself with other people for moving at that time based on what UHaul had originally told me and based on the reservation. So, not only was I inconvenienced with driving across town, requiring more time, I also paid for that extra mileage and gas, and then paid for more extra mileage and gas to return it across town. I explained this when picking up the van and asked again, under the circumstances, if I could return it to the location near my house where I had reserved it. The answer was "No," it wasn't their policy. I wish UHaul had a policy of KEEPING THEIR WORD when people make reservations.

To many fees. I felt like I was going to be charged a fee for a fee. Gas tank should be full at rental pickup. Now I have to guess how much to fuel up to get back to a half tank. Needed way to many contact numbers. If you don't want to take a cash deposit, then don't. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to use U-Haul ever again.

I am filling out this for my mother who rented the truck. I was not there when she rented it. I flew into Arizona and was to drive the truck to Wichita over the Thanksgiving Holiday. My biggest complaints were we received the truck a quart low on oil, the windshield was very dirty and the engine was running poorly at lower RPM's. Since I was leaving at 5 AM the dirty windshield made seeing very difficult until I could get to a fuel stop and clean it. When I checked, the oil it was a quart low so I bought a quart and added it. Also the truck had a misfiring cylinder at around 2000 RPM which continued the entire trip and this I am sure is what contributed to the horrible fuel milage. When I returned the truck no one could figure out how to reimburse me for the cost of the oil so I just wrote that off. The employee was very courteous and apologized for not knowing how and gave me two options for getting it but it is not worth the effort for $8.00.

I appreciated the time that the rep took to explain things to me. That was very helpful for someone who had never done this before.

More attentive staff. Picking up my online order wasn't all that easy, and I had to ensure the staff knew exactly what I had ordered. Beyond that, it was OK.

the last two to three times that I've used this location it always seems that they try to add hidden fees and I always have to correct them. I don't know what that's about, otherwise it seems to be okay.

Every morning on the road to San Francisco, I had to have the truck jumped. It was completely dead every morning.

Waited 30 mins while everyone was bullshiting. They didn't have any of the smaller trucks so I was forced to get the most expensive one they had. And they were way to over priced

Fix I guess the driver side window.....TERRIBLE noise coming from it when window was up for air. Terribly hot outside so it was either hear screeching noise or burn up. Otherwise was a good move to use uhaul.

The after hours return procedure is overly and needlessly complex. The "helpful" gas fill chart bullshit. The paper stated it would take 4.5 gallons to get to 5/8 from 3/8, when it really took 7. Employees fumble with basic policy questions over the phone. Furthermore, if I am already paying for gas, why the fuck am I paying per mile too?!
