I felt the equipment was not in the best condition. Personally noted three issues, wiring at rear of trailer loose and dragging on road, left tail light out, and left side of bumper and step bent/broken resulting in a sharp edge that could catch on a leg. PLEASE- verify if renting a trailer that you have the electrical required in your car's receiver to be able to tow a trailer for its rear lights. NONE of your screening questions nor did any employee ask if I had electrical when I booked my 4'x 8' trailer. It made a terribly stressful day trying to locate a local source to add the needed electrical in order to safely tow the trailer. ADD this to your screening questions both when trailer is booked and again at time of trailer rental, not after paying and crawling on ground with one associate telling me I have to assemble the receiver for liability reasons. Also, It did not make the experience any better that I had to drive from Waterloo to the Kitchener location and back to the Waterloo location the same morning after having to personally retrieve the correct shank size for the 2 inch receiver. I had pre-booked this reservation but Uhaul made this rental an unnecessarily stressful experience which could have been averted with better client preparation. Had I known I needed electrical for the trailer lights, I would have scheduled this work to be done ahead of trailer pick up.KAREN ELIZABETH G.

Absolutely poor service from the get go. We have a major pandemic in Ontario. I was met by a service rep who was not wearing a mask and felt because he was outside speaking to me it was a non issue. While he was talking to me he was vaping!!!!! Really ? What a poor image for a Uhaul representative. I was told where to get the truck, it was not there. I then had to search the lot for the vehicle, I should not have to. I ordered a dozen pads, no pads in the truck so I again had to go back to the office to get them. The rental agreement was for 24 hours as per my contract, then I was told I had to bring it back after 23 hours not 24 so I had to call the head office to have that resolved, (and that was over a 30 minute wait time on the phone). The truck was at 1/8 of a tank of gas, why can't Uhaul not have the vehicles filled up for a new customer. After all, I watched that service rep spend more time outside playing with his own car, so he has time to actually work. Uhaul use to be a great company but the location I was at has gone downhill. This is reflective on the manager of that location. Head office, you need to step up to the plate and look into this horrible service.WAYNE W.

Consider purchasing lighter trailers for rent. I rented a 450 ish lb trailer to carry a 375 lb bike, this was challenging for a small SUV on a long distance trip.John R.

All uhaul stores are pretty much same, what makes them different are the staff that work in each location. The staff in waterloo location on Colby drive are awesome and will help you in anyway they could, I always rent my cargo vans from that location.RADI H.
I returned my rental with the exact amount of fuel I picked it up with and got charged 55 dollars for fuel. I was told the vehicle was not cleaned which I would contest. And even if so I shouldn't be charged 25 dollars for something that takes 2 minutes to clean. For god sake where's the customer relation building here. It seemed like unless I videotaped with a witness I opened myself up to being taken advantage of. In essence this was an absolutely horrible experience.Mike R.
The front counter person needed a second contact # for me so I gave my wife's. He called it, he said Waterloo U-Haul calling to confirm this is who I said and then hung up. My wife wonders of course what the heck is going on. I thought he could have taken 10 more seconds and explained in more detail why he was calling - the call was very short and not informative and caused confusion. The three young boys who are running U-Haul on 55 Colby Dr. (off Northfield Dr.) are simply AMAZING. It is very rare that you can find a company with 3 young boys that are ALL doing their jobs so professionally as those three boys at 55 Colby Dr. U-Haul do their job. One would expect service like that from a 60 year old senior manager, but not from such a young boys like those three U-hall employees Even though we had a very nice experience with a U-Haul employees close to our house, we go to 55 Colby Dr. U-Haul because of exceptional service of those three boys who are always positive and ready to help (Manager Ethan, Bryan, and I forgot the name of the third boy). If you want to rent a truck or cargo van and you want an exceptional service, do not go anywhere else but to this place.GEORGINA G.

This was my first time renting a uhaul and the staff member didn't explain much to me unfortunately. Even though I stated it was my first experience. I did not know about the need to refuel, I just thought the 0.59 was to cover that but luckily my husband and I checked. The staff also pointed me to the wrong van at first. Waiting in line for service is always a painful process. I came in waited, and the another woman came in after me. Both of us started getting servered by employees at about the same time. I was renting a trailer, she was renting a truck. I had not pre-registered, she had. We both left the lot at the same time... Many minutes after we arrived. What is the point of doing all the paperwork ahead of time if you are still stuck in the store for the same length of time.MAREKA K.
