Getting in/out was quick, the van I rented was pretty new and clean and nice. The problem was they said I drove 921 MILES instead of the 21 I actually drove and proceeded to bill me for 10x THE AMOUNT it should have been! (I dropped off after hours - 2.5 hours of use). After receiving email bill and seeing bank statement and MANY calls to them / customer service and my bank, they corrected and sent the new invoice. Instead of returning the difference to my account they re-billed the correct amount ON TOP of the already missing money which won't go back to my account for 48 hrs to 7 days! READ YOUR: mileage and your bill total! They need to do me some righteous customer service make up.

The staff at this location were very friendly and professional. The equipment was clean and well maintained. It was difficult contacting this location, because when I called the number for the Van Nuys location I was automatically transferred to the national call center and there was not a way to speak to someone at the local store.

Everything went well, the only problem was I had to wait for someone to show up to return the truck. Except that, that was a good experience.

The outside of the uhaul had bugs all over it and the windshield. Everything else was maintained.

I originally called U Haul on Hatteras in Sherman Oaks to set up an appt. Instead of talking to them directly, I spoke to the U Haul call center, who then set me up with an appt at Hatteras for 2:30p. I get there and the sign on the door said they take lunch from 2-3p. So, I would encourage the call center to be in better communication with the actual stores. My fiance and I ended up being an hour late to our destination which set everyone else back. Two of the 3 customer service reps, however, were very friendly and professional. One even gave me a $50 credit for the inconvenience, which is why I would still recommend and go with U Haul again in the future.

The process of picking up truck online (self check) was impossible and a nightmare. Every time I would call to say it would allow me to log on and kept sending a verification code that would not work; this over a period of two days. The last email confirmation sent me to the wrong location. When I, again, phoned for assistance the woman on the phone was so rude and would not listen to my concern or issues. She kept "accusing" me of going to the wrong location and advised me she would have to change locations and that she could not help with my checking and that I could not walk-in. She told me to turn on location for the browser. When I asked for the new location, she literally refused to give it to me. She stated "I already gave it you!" I said "please give it to me, I didn't write it down and I need to know where I am going." Again she repeated "I already gave it to you!" I finally said "Please, just give it to me. I've driven from Bakersfield to LA and movers are waiting." She gave me the address and said again, you're self check-in so you have to do it online. I called the phone company and they walked me through the process to make sure the location finder (compass) was on. I tried again futilely without success obviously. I thank her for her service and said I couldn't have done it without her help. I found the "new" location and they said they were waiting for me and that my reservation had been changed to walkin.

I was charged for fuel. Even though I topped it back up to the level I started with. I actually took a picture of the dash, just in case and low and behold they charged me an extra 9 dollars and made up a fraudulent level on the receipt. I had to listen to my wife nag my ear off, because she just wanted to go home after a long day of moving, but I insisted on topping up the tank so they wouldn't charge me..... Dang!

WE made a reservation for a 17-foot truck and on my wy to pick it up I got a text that there was no truck available they then proceeded to change my reservation to new location 28 miles from my location that day at 6.30 pm after my storage closing time and they changed my truck to 15 footers finally, I get hold of customer service and they find me truck near me and they wanted me to pick it up that evening and return it next morning finally after battling customer service we finally were able to get a truck but it was 15 footer again. I have rented from U-Haul a truck almost 30 times in the last few years and this was the worst experiance

Truck did not start at first so had to wait in line again. The fuel gauge on contract said 3/8 but the actual had lower. When I returned it, I filled up to 3/8 but the final receipt showed addtional charge for fuel. These unnecessesary charges add up. So be careful with these guys.

Motorcycle Trailers are constructed of super smooth sheet metal. This creates a big traction issue with the front tire when loading and unloading as it comes up and down the ramp. If you have to stop or brake coming down the tire just slides along the sheet metal. This causes difficulty in maintaining balance. A strip of tack surface like the use on stairs that runs down the tire channel would be incredibly cheap and a great improvement.

I have rented from this location several times with no problems. This time made me exceptionally frustrated. I parked right outside the door and went into an empty lobby where I waited for about 3 minutes. I went outside to look for someone and she said she would be right with me. (Did she not see me drive up?!) After finishing up working on a truck someone came in to help me. My rental van was very dirty on the outside and looked like it had bullet holes on the side. I was told that this was the best van they had.
