I had a reservation for drop off in Northport, Alabama. (5210 Hwy 69 N) which I selected because it was on the way back to my home in Muscle Shoals. When I arrived at that location I was told that I could not leave the truck there. I was then directed to drive to another location - which was several miles away and in the opposite direction of where I was heading. When I arrived at the location on Skyland Blvd in Tuscaloosa it took over 30 minutes to check in. This process delayed my departure for home over 2 hours total. I was very frustrated and angry because no one offered any help in the situation. I wonder why I even made a reservation for drop off when it wasn't honored. VERY UPSETTING after a long day of driving and moving.

I made reservations for uhaul a month in advance. Checked in to”cut my appointment time in half”. Two days prior. When I showed up no one could figure out what was going on with my reservation. It took 4 people looking with a reservation number in hand. When asked about return, I specified I was renting one way. But according to the person helping me the reservation showed I was returning where I picked up. Charging me 168.00 for one way. When my quote was 93.00. Just one problem after another. It took 45 min to get it right. So basically all the effort I put forward ahead of time was for nothing. The lady had to redo the whole reservation and cancel out my old one, which was done by a uhaul person using the 1800 number. Did I mention I held on for 36 min just to get that. And for nothing. My time is valuable and I feel it was wasted not only prior to receiving the truck but during pickup. The right hand didn’t know what the left hand was doing. I will say they were all friendly and tried, But it was ridiculous. The return in Birmingham was different. Everyone knew exactly what was expected. Even phoned me to make sure I was aware the truck was due back by 3:00pm. Told me exactly where to drop off. I was told at pick up there was no drop off location on 280 in Birmingham. But when the lady called for return she told me I was 7 min from drop off on 280. The Tuscaloosa store in skyland needs a work over and people that can read a reservation. I will try hard not to ever use that location again. I am a frustrated customer with hopes uhaul can do something about it.

Originally I was supposed to drop off at 1901 Veterans in Tuscaloosa but they would not accept my drop off. They were rude and seemed annoyed (and barely could communicate in English). They said they had no room even though I showed them an available spot. They sent me 15 minutes away to Skyland. It cost me 45 minutes of my time. People at Skyland were great. People at 1901 Veterans absolutely were horrible/rude/uncooperative and basically could have cared less about my business or time.

The people and procedures at this location are always amazing, and had additional systems in place to accommodate the college overflow this weekend. They were especially helpful in getting me checked in since the overworked counter person at the other place hadn't been able to get my return scheduled on the crashing Uhaul telephone app while I was outside hitching up the trailer.

The first time I rented a truck, they didn’t have it when I arrived. I had a reservation for months. So I ended up cancelling it and just using my car to move out of my place. The second time, they had the truck, but took forever to assist me at the front desk. And they didn’t have a furniture dolly for me that I reserved months before, which would have been really helpful moving. My move out/move in process worked out alright, but it could have been easier if I received everything I reserved ahead of time.

We ordered a 15 foot truck on July 6, 2018 for a one way rental to a different state to move my son out of an apartment. When we arrived we were given a 26 foot truck that is used to move a 4 bedroom house.. The truck was basically empty when we finished loading it. I was VERY uncomfortable driving the 26 foot truck that customer service called a 'free upgrade' and I called a close to death experience with me driving that truck for me and the drivers around me. I spent time complaining to customer service and sent them a video of how empty the truck was. I asked for a refund because uhaul made the drive EXTREMELY stressful for me and I couldn't get the large truck up my driveway so I had to pay others to unload the truck. The manager who turned down my request, Amanda Clark, did not even look at the video and Im sure she didn't look at the notes from customer service about my case either. I asked her and she didn't want me to send her the video. Her only response was that 'uhaul reserves the right to give you a larger truck at the time of rental to help you complete your move and this is in the contract'. However many other complaints like mine have been made Im sure hauls response is always the same. Uhaul doesn't care about their customers and doesnt look at individual circumstances. Although uhaul is legally in the right they are ethically in the wrong for not even looking at cases individually. Im sure a human won't even read this and Ill get a computer generated response but I feel better after getting off my chest how angry, disappointed and upset I am with uhaul.
