I SCHEDULED the drop off point for my rental trailer to be in Fallbrook. Yep, the UHaul rep said there is a UHaul facility in Fallbrook for quick return. Great. All looked good for smooth sailing and I made my travel plans accordingly. After my delivery in Fallbrook I received an e-mail stating that I needed to deliver my trailer to Temecula instead, a considerable distance away. But I made sure that I found the location anyway and delivered the trailer well before my Monday 1100 return time. I found the place, with no legal place to park. So I blocked a roadway. But I contacted an employee for the return process. He was polite enough but told me I couldn't drop off the trailer there. He wasn't even sure where I needed to take it. WHAT? I had to wait while he called someone to get direction. Finally he told me that I had to go to another UHaul facility some 15 minutes away. I found the place but no one was there. So I waited. A little while later, a woman approached me and said I could drop off the trailer. I did so and then asked for a receipt. She said, Don't worry about it. No one in the original process told me that I would get a run around for the return of the trailer. No one mentioned the extra time and 40-odd miles for the hour long return. No one offered to reimburse me for the extra gas or time. I didn't even get a receipt at the drop off location. No one from UHaul even asked if I had had any problems or issues with the trailer. I have never been involved with a rental company as intangible and unprofessional as UHaul. Nor have I ever been a part of a rental where no one is interested in accountability or liability.

Make sure you check to see if the equipment you rented has no previous lock in it, it will be an inconvenience to return and have them cut the lock of.

This rating is NOT for the Temecula site, it is for the Wildomar site. Wildomar sent me to Temecula because they didn't have my reserved vehicle available. It was a Friday late afternoon with much traffic and I had to drive 17 miles to get my reserved vehicle. It took me an hour. The man at the Wildomar site PROMISED several times that he would reimburse me the mileage and "take care of me" but when the bill came, the reimbursement was NOT given. When I went to Wildomar and discussed this with Dan he was unconcerned and called me the next day saying the Uhaul would NOT reimburse me the mileage. I am extremely upset that your employee would tell me a false statement and that your company is unconcerned about this situation.

I do not like receiving a truck that only has half a tank of gas. U-Haul needs to make sure all trucks come back with a full tank of gas,

The people at the franchise were great. But $1.09 per mile for the 10 foot van, plus fuel, for your littlest van is excessive. Got stuck with the van because you had no equivalent size trailers anywhere in the area, but lots and lots of little vans. Makes me feel like uhaul is more about trying to scam extra money than providing customer with the products and services they actually need. Well guess what -- the best way to succeed and make money is meeting customer needs at a fair price. Fastest way to lose business is to fail to meet the customers' needs, or leave the customer feeling like they've been bent over. This experience has certainly changed my mind about ever using uhaul again.

The person who took my reservation by phone wrote up the order incorrectly (thought it was one-way when I was going to drop it off back at the site) and told me 10-foot trucks have bench seats when they do not. When I picked up the truck, the gentleman who helped me was helpful and able to fix the paperwork (one-way vs round-trip) but apologized that there was no bench seat (which meant I now had to figure out how to get three people to my destination). He said he'd see if he could "do something." I thought maybe that meant a discount but it did not. I was told there would be $166 hold on my card which I assumed was a close estimate to what my actual cost would be based on the move-to address I gave when I reserved the truck. I was NOT told that the hold was for 100 miles only. So when I returned the truck, my bill was for nearly double the hold amount. If I did not have that much money in my checking account (I paid with a debit card), I would have been in trouble. Holds should be based on what the anticipated mileage will be OR customer should be told that the hold only accounts for 100 miles.

The staff was not knowledgeable, it was such a miserable experience that my mom was crying for about an hour in their parking lot. I have used U-Haul before but will never do so in the future. Because of their ineptitude I lost precious time and in turn lost the people who were to unload my truck. Rather than paying $500 I ended up paying over $1000 when it was all said and done. Not including my truck rental fees. Never ever again.
