Im only giving the poor rating because I had to travel 100 miles round trip to pick up the trailer. this reflects on Uhaul not the pick up location
Clean the truck especially the cab it was nasty ciggerate smoke filled and coffee stains all over the armrest
Inside the truck was dirty I do have pictures of it and there were drug paraphernalia inside of the glove box I rented the 20 foot box truck for the day
I waited in line for 20min for my reserved vehicle. When I got in the vehicle there was a dirty cup and dirty tissues, which I threw away. I moved 2 living room couches and a chair, Returned the Uhaul. I received a $97.00 cleaning fee. I cleaned out the trash in it left for me by someone else? I only moved clean household items and drove on main roads, it didn't rain or have bad weather. I'm not sure what I made it dirty??? I called and was not told exactly what was dirty, just that it was excessive and I was being charged for it. I was pleasant when I called and all I was told was that if it was dirty when I got in it I should have come back in. Lesson learned and I will not be going back to this location or advising anyone else to go there. I feel the charge was not backed by actual facts since no one could tell me what was excessively dirty. I was not taken seriously about the cup and tissues I cleaned out the truck. I'm an honest person I felt no consideration at all that it was actually dirty prior to my use.
Eric at Steels was pleasant and professional The equipment performed as expected. The website needs some work. It is not intuitive.
Aside from a small issue with knowledge about connecting the trailer, always awesome dealing with Steele's. 100% recommend to anyone for anything

The vehicle had defective ignition lock and key and caused me to get stuck 5 times when zI was nowhere near the rental facility. Very stressful .
I was told the trailer was not hooked up properly by the drop off uhaul. The representative did it for us. The gentleman at the checkout counter were phenomenal.
Have blankets dollies the correct trucks communicate with your central offices. The store had no idea what was going on. The central number in Wilkes barre doesn't answer the phone. I called all day from 9 to 5 and was disconnected. I was charged the wrong price and couldn't get what I needed.
Clarify that online check in can be done prior to arrival
It was pretty painless. Not sure how it could be improved upon.
Email a customer when a reservation is cancelled. Also not charge a customer a reservation charge when their original reservation was cancelled
Short version: filthy truck, damaged upon pickup, poor service, unsafe, beware. Long version: The truck was damaged and very dirty upon pickup. Previous renter had smoked in the truck - the cab wreaked of cigarettes, there were ashes everywhere â€“ the floor, seats, dashboard, cupholders, glovebox â€“ there was also a portable/cup holder ash tray full of ashes shoved in the glovebox, a couple cigarette butts on the floor, fast food bits left around, spilled beverages â€“ on the floor, armrest, center console, cupholders, and dashboard â€“ and whomever was in the truck last had left a couple of green nuggets? on the floor as well. Don't forget the hair trimmer guard attachment stuck in the seat next to the seat belt. Oh and there was a used fire extinguisher that had been shoved behind the driver's seat as well â€“ not from U-Haul according to the U-Haul representative I spoke with on the phone when I asked for a new one, they don't put extinguishers in their trucks. Forget any concerns about COVID disinfecting, this truck was filthy by pre-COVID standards. I've used cleaner public restroomsâ€¦ No one inspects the vehicle with you upon pickup [because of COVID?], but you're forced to go inside the store to pick up your keys? I did a quick walk around solo and found the rear passenger tire had a cut in the sidewall, but I [wrongly] assumed that since the truck had been "inspected" by an employee [clearly it hadn't been] upon return from the previous customer, it was superficial/ok to drive on. The parking lot was muddy and my ride had already left, so I decided to drive it home and clean it there. Got the truck home, cleaned out the cab for an hour, tried to get rid of the smoke, and looked over the truck again. Upon closer inspection, I found that the rear tire sidewall cut was SEVERE â€“ the gash was almost through the sidewall and the steel ply was easily visible. Happy I didn't have a colossal blowout because an employee was too lazy to look at the truck before I picked it up. Found the front passenger tire had a chunk missing out of the tread as well. The whole passenger side of the truck had scraped over something at some point [damage on the body was marked as â€œpreviously inspectedâ€ with little stickers]. After losing half a day waiting for U-Haul Roadside Service to arrive to my house and swap out my two tires, I had to add an extra day to my rental and waste money because U-Haul failed to safely inspect the truck. The saga continues. Good thing I added the extra day â€“ as I was about to leave to drive 400 miles on my move, I discovered that the newly replaced rear wheel and tire had not been retorqued. If you're wondering how I know, it's not because I have a 450ft/lbs torque wrench and a large socket as specified by the Ford signage above each tire. It's because one lug nut on the new wheel wasn't even close to touching the rim â€“ it was more than an inch off of it. I could tell standing 5' from it. Had to call U-Haul again to send someone out to torque it properly. Took quite a while for a tech to get in contact with me and when he finally did, he was more than 1.5 hours drive away â€“ I hadn't left my house still, which is in a large densely populated region with an abundance of commercial truck repair shops including a branch of the one that eventually sent a tech over [but from a different region]. It took the tech more than 2 hours to arrive after I was bombarded by calls/texts from U-Haul/the company telling me that they could not find the truck because my address didn't exist â€“ because the service company incorrectly input the address provided to them by U-Haul and failed to check it with me. Don't tell the customer their address doesn't exist â€“ make sure you bothered to put it into your nav correctly, spell it properly, and pay attention to â€œStreetâ€ vs. â€œDriveâ€ vs. â€œLaneâ€ etc. Over 3 hours later and I had the single lug nut properly torqued. I lost an entire day to U-Haul's shoddy service and terrible maintenance. And after 3 days of airing out the truck, it still smelled like cigarettes on my drive down. By far the worst experience I've ever had with U-Haul.

I ordered a blankets to cover the furniture, thing that i needed, and they were out, i did get the credit for it. I ordered a furniture dolly but i didn't get It either and wasn't credited for it
The wait and process was challenging when we had to find another drop off site because the original site was closed, but the gentleman name Sam was very helpful and accommodating
I booked the truck on line and searched locations according to what is most convenient for us. I left work early to pick up the truck at 4:30 pm on Friday. When I got there I was told that the pick up location had been changed to a location 45 min away. The new location website said they close at 6:00 pm. I asked the person at the original location if she could call the new location and let them know we are on our way and not to leave until we get there. She said , â€œI don't have their numberâ€. Gee thank you. Picked up the truck and got a text from Uhaul that the drop off location changed to a location that was 30 min further away than the location that I booked. I wondered why I even bothered to carefully book the truck at all since nothing I booked happened. Worst truck rental that we have ever had. Way too much trouble just to take furniture to be refinished. I really do not appreciate your total lack of customer service.
The location did not pay attention to the parameters of my online reservation at all. They booked the truck for one day, when i needed it for 3. I called to have this corrected FOUR times, and they kept blowing me off, saying they would extend it. Then they were harassing me about returning the truck when i had tried to communicate to them four times that I wouldn't have it back at that time. Then u haul called me as i was on my way to return the truck. Ive rented many trucks from uhaul over the years, and this was a horrible experience overall. Oh, and they didn't even have the dolley i needed and charged me anyway. Ridiculous
