The U-Haul App - Not User Friendly. Customer Service uninformed - Scheduling Dept. handling ONE WAY trailer rentals dealt with 3 counties and I needed a 4 X 8 OR. 5 X 8 enclosed trailer. Everything had to agree with my Pick-UP date and the 4 day travel time allowed. I did add 1 day to my travel time as I needed time to load the trailer. My departure date changed affected my Pick-UP date. I called the Scheduling Dept . and adjusted the pick-up date to a Sunday, Sept. 13. I just happened to be in Sutter Creek, Ca at the U-Haul Shell Station and saw the 4 X 8 enclosed trailer, went into the office and confirmed it was Mine, on 9-12. I picked up the trailer on Sunday's Sept. 13. had to load it, departed Calif. on 9-14, arriving at U-Haul in Surprise, Az on 9-15. Email communications with U-Haul for some reason failed - none of the emails they sent were received at my Email address. Customer Service, said they would email me my Reservation as well as text. Nothing came to my Email, the texts were limited. The Surprise U-Haul facility did print out my reservation for me as well as any receipts for trailer return and storage rental.

BRUCE AThe staff of this facility is so consistently excellent that I hesitate to complain about ANYthing. However, all three windows were obviously overlooked in this truck (dirty outside; smudgy inside), along with the windshield-washer reservoir (dry). The glass wasn't too bothersome for 77-year-old eyes until the sun went down my first day on the road, forcing a frustrating I-5 exit. After two hours of insect accumulation, activating a dry windshield washer only spread the mess across my entire field of vision. I had no choice but to exit the highway — again! — in search of a gas station. Finding none, I emptied the remains of my water bottle onto the top of the windshield while running the wipers. Rather than sacrifice my T-shirt to the mess, I peered through bugs, in the dark, for several miles before spotting a gas station and making Unscheduled Stop Number Three — still just a few hours into a journey with what a "fresh" rental truck. Perhaps the good people at the Highway 49 Market will benefit from learning about an unnecessarily-frustrating start to a customer's 900-mile journey.
