The facility was clean, bright and well organized - but read your contract before you leave the counter! When I reserved my trailer online, I said I did NOT want the insurance, only after my contract was printed and I signed it, did I see that I was still charged. Also, I wanted to get the $20 off for returning to a nearby city, but after the contract was printed, I was told I needed to tell them that first. $25 for insurance I didn't want, and no $20 discount I earned = a $45 surprise. Seems like the old 'bait and switch" game, so buyer beware.

My original drop off location was 126 Eastern Ave Malden, MA. Upon arrival I was notified regarding change of location. The uhaul application said the previously stated drop off all the meanwhile. Staff in Malden had to manually access the database to update me on the drop off location. This needs to be fixed as I drove an additional twenty minutes in the opposite direction to accomodate the new drop off location.

I have rented from the UHaul location several times and have generally been very pleased both by staff and the product. My check in at the desk this morning was very pleasant, but there were several other points during the pick up where I was disappointed by the service received. 1. There seems to be a policy that there are hand trucks and blankets stored in each truck with a pull tab to make them available if you pay for them. I asked if it was possible to UHaul to remove and keep them as they were blocking space I needed and I would not be using them. I received a very curt NO! and a statement that I would have to pay for them. My treatment was rather poor, but I don't entirely blame the staff. It seems that this cart policy is something they are powerless to do anything about and they are frustrated by customer requests. It would be helpful if you would empower your staff so they could actually be helpful. 2. I also received a truck with only exactly 1/4 tank of gas. It would be helpful to customers if you did not rent trucks with such low gas levels, especially when you assess a fine on the customer for bringing back with less that 1/4 tank. 3. I was instructed to inspect the truck before leaving and have staff mark any damage. I had to track down staff to mark damage. First they told me (without looking) that everything was already marked, then they gave me quite a run around about walking around so I could point out some very clear damage points (I think the stickers probably had fallen off). They wanted to know exactly how many damage points I saw and warned me they didn't want to have to walk back in to get an additional sticker. I've never had to go through such a long process to have someone walk around the truck with me. It has always been a simple quick process. I'm not sure why this morning was so different. Over-all I was very frustrated by my treatment this morning. I don't feel that I did anything to staff to deserve this. My inclination is not to rent from Uhaul again in the future.

The staff member helping me told me that I should apply my VIP CERT when i return the rental, however, the phone app would not accept the VIP CERT. And when I called the office the following day I was told that the VIP CERT should be applied at the time of initiating the contract. This is just unbelievable.

I was misinformed about how the app worked and ended up not being able to get my truck on time. I was told to do the app on Sunday morning when I picked it up then on Sunday morning I was told I was suppose to do it the day before. I was two hours behind schedule and it sounds like I was not the only one who had a "glitch" in the system. I rolled my ankle rushing because I was trying to catch up due to beong 2 hours behind. You should better inform your customers about the app process.

App experience was horrible. Not able to upload the required pictures; too me 45 minutes to pick up a car with the additional personal check. Was not able to upload pictures at dropoff either. App does not have invoice information (?!), nor did I receive the final bill by email, simply a charge on my credit card account (?!). After hours pickup idea is good. Execution subpar. Please fix app, it can be so much better: alert new people to finish their profile ahead of rental and provide invoice information in app that can be shared, as well as total time of rental and miles driven. Car had low tire pressure indicator light on, none of the tires were flat.

During vehicle pickup,the lady at the register was rude and demeaning. As we were moving, we unfortunately got stuck in mud. After calling customer service for 75 minutes and being put on hold every time, No help! No roadside assistnace would talk to us, or respond. Frustrated, we called the uhaul location, the same lady was highly rude and didnt help us. We tried roadside assistance for another hour, and ended up paying $160 to a local agency to helpus. Please contact me for refund.Thank you

Customer Service representative has a long way to go and a lot to learn to be in a Customer Service position. Shaevonte seemed to be very tired and/or dislike very much her job. No eye contact, no smile, bad attitude, etc. She's in the wrong field/job. And, the new person in charge, apparently the supervisor, doesn't step up to help matters.
