Customer Service representative has a long way to go and a lot to learn to be in a Customer Service position. Shaevonte seemed to be very tired and/or dislike very much her job. No eye contact, no smile, bad attitude, etc. She's in the wrong field/job. And, the new person in charge, apparently the supervisor, doesn't step up to help matters.

Honestly, it's tough to know even where to start with this. Basically, almost my whole experience was basically a dumpster fire. I made the reservation online, and wanted to pick up using the app at a time earlier than they were open. So I get there, and it tells me "Looks like a piece of equipment has not been assigned for this reservation. Please contact the number below for assistance, 24 hours a day. Ray Davis 781-844-7249" So I call Ray. Does Ray answer? No, of course not. Leave Ray a message. At this point, it's an hour until the location opens (at 9). My movers are coming at 8:30. Great. I call general customer service, and they tell me there's nothing they can do. I ask for a copy of that phone call to be sent to me (as it says I can do), but it never comes. So I look around, and of course no one's at the store. Go home, come back just before 9. There's a guy there who was the ONLY good interaction I had there. He says apparently nobody setup the truck, looks around, and sees the only one there was dropped off overnight. So, he checks that truck in - then gives it to me and sends me the Your U-Haul Contract Rental Agreement (which is just a long terms and conditions). I take the truck - do the move. On the way back I know I need to add gas so I look at the email - but it doesn't contain what the gas was at at the start. OK no problem - I call the location and ask. The guy on the phone (Tom) is so condescending it's amazing. Oh sir that should be on the contract (After I already told him what I had and that it wasn't). Whatever, it takes him a few minutes to find what it should be at, and he gives it to me. Put gas in, go to drop off the truck. Pull up and wait outside for a few minutes. Nobody comes out so I go in. There's nobody in there but two guys behind the counter (Tom and some other guy whose name I didn't catch). They're just shooting the shit, and ask what I need - so I tell them I'm returning and they're like "Yeah someone should be out there to take you" I tell them I've been out there a few min and nobody's there. They're like yeah just go back out someone will be there. So I go out, and then a minute later the guy from behind the counter comes out. Like - you couldn't have just said "Sorry someone should've been out there, let me come take care of you?" Bottom line - my interaction with everybody there except the one guy in the morning was a hot mess. I will not to business with this location and will be happy to tell everyone who asks how garbage my experience was.

Your online reservation system is confusing and convoluted if you just want to reserve a vehicle. You should have a single question at the beginning asking whether any additional services are desired. If the answer is no, it should bypass everything else. Also, if the website says that a particular vehicle is available at a particular site, then that vehicle should be available at that site!

I specifically requested a truck (one smaller than I needed) from Arlington Self-Storage so that I could get to it quickly; I needed to pick it up in the middle of an on going event. Instead it was made available from Somerville. The truck had a headlight reminder beep that went off regardless of whether the headlights were on.

When I phoned afterwards to ask that my sales receipt be sent to me (I was told that this would be done, but it didn't happen), the woman who answered the phone was surly and ended the call by simply hanging up on me without saying good-bye after I had politely (and contrary to my inclination) thanked her for help. She did send the receipt, but required me to dictate the address to her over the phone instead of simply reading it off the form where it was plainly displayed.

My checkin process was terrible. I am a corporate customer, and after attempting to finish my check-in for more than an hour on my reserved, pre-checked-in reservation, I had to give up and rent on my personal account. It’s been several frustrating experiences renting from U-Haul the last several times, and we are reaching the end of our rope.

There was a long wait for a utility trailer. They asked me to wait outside for someone to assist. No one showed for 30 minutes. After someone assisted, it went smoothly. Likewise, the checkout process was lengthy. Otherwise the experience was good. The staff were friendly and installed a ball to my hitch.

Check-in and lines were quite long. The staff tries to get people through in a timely fashion but the computers make that difficult. The owner is knowledgeable and very kind.
