The customer service at this u-haul was great! I would have no issue driving out of my way to rent from this location in the future. The app on the other hand needs work. I was unable to upload my own pictures outside of uploading my license.

Very professional. Great thing they had all equipment for packing like dollies, blankets and plastic wraps.
I thought the whole process was quick and efficient. I've rented from different locations but this one was huge, had plenty of space and excellent staff. The only improvement I might suggest is making it so you can automatically bill the credit card that I used to make the online reservation with. I made the reservation literally 1/2 an hour before picking up and I was asked to provide the card again. It's a small thing

We received excellent service from this facility. Our 20' truck in Fremont was not available even though we had it reserved. The Santa Clara facilitated u-boxes to get our furniture two states away. Although the delivery will take longer then driving it ourselves, we were able to get some of our belongings ready to ship home.
I was NOT happy to hear there was no truck available less than 24 hours before the pick up time.
I've had previous great experience with U-haul. This location was just horrible. Got there at 6:15 am to pick up the 26 foot truck as my 3-person moving crew was ready to go at 7 am for a local move. This location screwed up on the remote key access to get my truck n I had to wait until 9 am to get the truck n pay the movers an extra $200 for their lost hours. This location not only did not take responsibility for the screw up, not offering any discount, but gave me a filthy truck
The automated mobile check-out experience was pathetic, and fail, and caused delays and switching vehicles, etc.
Lack of guarantee of equipment for a one way trip was confusing. I got an email after updating my reservation which just confirmed I had updated my reservation and didn't specify this lack of guarantee
I made an online reservation for a contactless pick-up. I was waiting for a verification code for the reservation and received it 2 days later. When checking in for my contactless pick up, I never received a code for a lockbox for the keys to my rental and I had to wait in line. Other than that, the couple of workers I interacted with were helpful. I called in to extend my rental a couple hours and didn't have any issues.
I have always rented from this facility multiple times in the 3-4 times a year. This is the first time I have had a terrible experience at check in and returning. First at check in they said my truck was in lane e it was not. I went back in after checking all the trucks. Told them it was not out there. They did not help me they just said it was. Found it way in the back off to the side with two other trucks that looked to be out of commission . The truck was very dirty. I went to my storage open the back there's was heap of used blankets -2 to be exact and a hand truck and a refrigerator rack. I call dallied the 800 number to tell them so I would not be charged for them.,then later when I was driving I kept hearing a noise I found empty beer cans under passenger seat. I was not happy I also noticed this truck had quite a bit of exhaust smell when driving more than it should have. I am now wandering if this truck was in the back because it had issues and needed servicing. Then when trying to put the gas back it kept spraying gas out . I tried another pump and did the same thing. When I picked it up it had 7/8 of a tank. I was able to get it to 2/4. I was trying to tell two people that I had an issue and they would not listen to me . Than the gut comes and tells me to goo I to gas station to fill it up. I told him I that is what I was trying to tell you. That ibgelt it was not safe for me to continue with the fueling of the truck. I asked to speak to manager and he just walked away. I tried getting another person to listen to me and nothing. I got frustrated and told them I would call the 800 number and let them know.
This site needs no improvement. It's close to a major freeway and local expressways, which helps get in and out. The people are knowledgeable and response. The equipment is in good condition, and I've never had problems.

The truck seemed to be a little rough, as if it did not have enough go power; would choke when gas peddle applied. Also, the front end alignment seemed to be alittle off, truck would go more to the right. Otherwise the customer service there was great. My other thing, is that I had previously reserved and then got a call 2 days before saying there wasn't a truck available for me (needed the 26ft); my order was cancelled. I then called back that day, got transfered and disconnected. After a lenghly call.Had to call a third time, and then find that my reservation did not have the unlimited miles (return to same location) or I would have reserved with the return to a closer location of my move. Thus paying the extra mileage. I called and the gal said someone would look into. Hoping this is still the case.
What I know you rent a equipment for 24 hrs and the put me for 7 hrs and the charger me for 2 period when I return my equipment in less then 12

The whole experience needs to improve! I had the worst experience with U-Haul as a whole. Customer service was not knowledgeable at all which led to a very stressful move which I was unable to complete. I didn't receive the trailer or unit that I was reserved for. I had to pay for a much bigger trailer even tho there was smaller ones available. I didn't get the free unit I was offered. I was hung up on, transferred without being told & when I. Was in the middle of telling the rep my issue like it wasn't his problem. I was told many things & none of them came about! The only things positive in this experience was Alex at this location & Lindsey at customer service. That's it. I have wrote to better business bureau & I will be writing to the ceo about this. Worst experience.

U-Haul Storage of Santa Clara has provided an awesome customer experience for my wife and I for over 3+ years. We've had a storage unit at their facility, changed units, had U-Boxes delivered there from out of state, bought moving supplies on multiple occasions (and returned some boxes) and recently I rented a U-Haul truck using their mobile app to seamlessly pick up and return the vehicle. The staff here are second-to-none- everyone here always goes above and beyond for their customers! Big shout out to the managers Michael and Terrie, who make sure the facility runs smoothly and seamlessly for customers' moving and storage needs. Nathan is my go-to guy- he's always super friendly and helpful every time I'm there. Donna keeps the entire storage facility sparkling clean, looks out for the customers and provides a warm welcome as you come and go. Several other staff have been helpful on multiple occasions, whose names I don't remember, but my thanks to them as well. Whether you're looking for a safe, secure and clean place to store things, a U-Haul truck for a local or long-distance move, or just some moving supplies, you can count on U-Haul Storage of Santa Clara for their exceptional service!
