This location is the best location I've ever been to it is really clean renovated and refreshed they have lots of equipment to rent and very friendly staff I truly enjoy renting from this location it is near my house and I am so lucky to have such a great place that I like to rent from near my house I have rented from here several times in the last few years and I really appreciate their great service

The only one thing I dont like about U-Haul is that I reserved at the Alum Rock Location and they sent me to Santa Clara. The reservation system doesn't work. Each time I reserve at one place its never at that location and I have to drive to another location.

You have the wrong pick-up location on this survey. I was scheduled to pick up at the Alameda, San Jose store, but a mistake was made and my truck was rented to someone else (apparently the error originated with another store). The guys there were very nice and apologetic, and managed to arrange for me to get the only truck available in the region, but I had to take a cab 30 miles to Belmont to get it. It helped that I was told I'd get $50 off of my bill. Unfortunately, I arrived 10 minutes after the Belmont store closed, and the self-service system would not allow me to retrieve my truck. Thank God the two lovely young people who had just locked up were willing to help me out in spite of the time. They saved me! This who nightmare was particularly unbelievable since I had already been forced to postpone my move for a month because U-haul had previously called me less than 24 hours ahead of my pre-paid reservation to tell me they couldn't provide me with a truck. I had to cancel my movers, and lost my deposit. I never dreamed that I would get burned again. Im grateful to all the staff who worked so hard to correct the mistake this time, but this sort of thing should not be so common that one person who reserves way in advance should have to go through this.

Skip line experience was mixed as eventually you need to wait in queue to get keys, it's better if you give key box code to open it so that I can skip queue.

I reserved a 4x8 but was told the day before all they had was a 5x8 and they made me pay $5 more a day incurring an additional 45$

The pickup location was not the issue, necessarily, it was the whole experience that was horrible. I've had my ubox stored for several months. One month ahead of time, I called to schedule a drop off time. It was confirmed on the phone and also via email. A day before I was supposed to receive my box and move in, I figured I would call and make sure that everything was set, given that I hadn't received any last minute scheduling updates. I was then told on the phone that the reservation had been moved to days later and I had NOT been notified. I then talked to over 12 customer service people on 4 different phone calls, until I finally reached someone who was helpful who told me that not only had my delivery date been moved but my box was now in a new location. Due to scheduling, I wasn't able to unload my box on the new date so I had to go to the storage center myself, rent a pickup truck and a trailer with the ubox on top and take it myself to unload on campus. It was a very stressful experience and a huge hassle to maneuver the vehicle while unloading. Not only am I upset that they moved my delivery date, but I am even more upset that nobody notified me or kept me informed. Even once I found out, nobody could give me an explanation as to why there was an issue. Overall, terrible experience. Won't use again. On the positive note, the people staffing the Santa Clara storage center were helpful and the actual picking up experience was relatively painless.

Very good U-Haul facility. DJ was awesome. But his manager was brusque, did not bother to understand customer's questions nor explain stuff properly. And she was micro-managing DJ like no one's business!
