I had booked my reservation at the wrong location. It was a little confusing since there are 2 locations near each other. They were able to resolve my issue right away and had me set up and out of the lot with my truck within 10 mins. It was pleasant and fast. Would definitely come back.

They did not explain how to refill the tank well. I ended up spending way more money filling the tank before returning the vehicle. I also kept insisting that there was a closer uhaul location for me to return the rental, and they didn't try very hard to find it. I had to drive extra miles to return the rental to the further location. Main help was new and was confused, and the other help seemed impatient and not very welcoming.

This location is centrally-located, so I do go there, but I will never forgive the jerks on duty at this U-Haul who did not help me when I really needed help. Around 12/7/16, I moved from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in a larger U-Haul truck driving 1300 miles with my snow boots on. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, I was forced to drive through the night, arriving in Santa Barbara about 5 pm the next day. When I got out of the truck to return it, I had cut off the blood circulation to my foot so could not walk. My car had to be off-loaded and taken to a spot two blocks away from the U-Haul Center. No U-Haul person there would help me return to the Center, so I was very lucky when I knocked on a nearby door the person living there drove me back the two blocks to the Center. I will not forget the shabby treatment.

The truck had a broken mirror and was a little dirty with bugs on window. Otherwise I would have given the pick up location an excellent rating. They made up for it with quality customer service. The drop off location in Santa Barbara was excellent. I was in and out with a smile. Thanks for that, Santa Barbara U-Haul!! Moving sucks, but with all the other rental places...I always check with U-Haul first!

I returned the trailer on July 4 at 2:30. The clerk took my contract and unhitched the 6X12 trailer.and said I was good to go. He never recorded my trailer as recieved and I'm being charged for it daily.

I was a little shocked that the truck didn't have a full tank of gas when I picked it up. So I made sure it had a full tank when I took it back. God is good...

I have to say the employees are careless and unprofessional. They don't reflect my numerous experiences with U-Haul over the years. I've moved 10 times in the last 15 years and have used U-Haul every time. No one greeted me upon arrival. The staff had no communication with each other and as a result I waited when there was not a single other customer present. The online pre check-in was useless because the staff did everything all over again on their system. More wasted time. The equipment was in useable condition but the staff was unaware of the obvious dent on the trailer. One staff had trouble loading the trailer onto my hitch and my husband had to prevent him from ramming it into my truck. No other staff cared to offer help. I waited again upon checkout because the staff failed to communicate that I was ready to depart. They also forgot they had my ID. Turns out they left it unattended on the counter while we were attaching the trailer.

Be more clear that when the gas gauge says full, it actually is not full by at least 2.5 gallons. I made the mistake of assuming Uhaul used the same definition of "full" as society in general, and it cost me an extra $7.50, which the associates were either unwilling or unable to discount from my bill. Has left me with a bad feeling about Uhaul in general, if they rely on lawyer-speak and in empowered employees to keep a customer's $7.50 that they did nothing to earn. Shame on you.

The mobile-phone check-in was a bit more involved than I thought it would be. I understand it now, but I expected an express check-in, not a review of the truck, taking photos of myself and my license, etc..

II reserved the truck for the day for $19.95 but only when I arrived to pick it up that morning I was told to have it back by 11:00 am because another customer had also reserved it at that time. This was totally unprofessional and probably illegal by U-Haul. I was still charged for the entire day. The truck body had not been cleaned and had some trash inside the cab. I don't think this is the problem limited to this site but is more likely a company policy.
