We had difficulty using mobile check in. It had us waiting there for a while before we received a text that someone would soon approve the reservation. Luckily, someone was in the office at 8:00am who was willing to help us. If you have mobile option, it needs to be reliable.

I used the UHaul app to pick up the truck. There was a lot of work that I needed to do onsite that could/should have been done in advance. The app asked me to take pictures of me and my drivers license. All this should have been done in advance. I then had to add an emergency contact. Again could have been done in advance. I had to locate the truck number, but the id number of the truck was not where the app said it would be. The app also took time to "locate me" because of WiFi issues. Once I made it thru these steps, the rest of the rental was easy and fairly efficient. I strongly suggest you have folks handle as many steps in advance to save valuable time when renting.

Return process was inadequate - no one in office at time equipment was returned (which was within scheduled open hours for the day). The return by phone process is time consuming and not something I wanted to do after several hours of heavy lifting, especially as I had scheduled my rental within normal business hours just to avoid the issues of using the phone for the process.

Maybe a bigger sign on San Ramon valley road. The u haul sign was small and I missed it the first time past. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Great experience

I called this store to check on the availability of a motorcycle trailer. It took over 15-minutes of unrelated questions before I was told they did not have one. Why does U-haul need to have my name, address, phone number and credit card number before they can say whether or not a piece of equipment is available? this policy is a total turn-off.

Inside of cab had previous customer rental agreement and sunflower seeds (shells) strewn around. I asked to return truck to same location but Dublin location was on my agreement. I called call center to change but they said could not be done. Fortunately, the San Ramon location was able to accommodate the return with no issues. Personel at service counter were great.

This was the best uhaul location I have used of the several I have been too. The truck was clean and in good shape. The staff was helpful and very efficient which was a huge help! Thank you!

When I arrived the person at the desk seemed somewhat curt. Then the van that I was assigned was not working... when I went to the desk, the woman was not very helpful.. she basically stayed behind the desk and made me feel like I was probably not doing something right "did you put it in reverse?" Instead of coming with me to make sure things were working properly, she just stayed behind the desk. Typically, when I rent a car, someone is usually going over the vehicle with me, but this person never came to look over the vehicle with me... I had to go back and forth two times to tell her again that the vehicle wasn't working properly. Eventually, she came down to look at the van and I had her try to turn the van on. She of course couldn't. She put the van in reverse and my 15 year old son and she tried putting the van back in its place, because the van was dead. Then, my son and she had to push the van while I was working the steering wheel. She assigned a different van, which was working properly. When I came back to deliver the van, I went into the office space and the lights were turned off. She said, "you are all set" It seemed like she was watching a movie or show but she was very curt and just said "you are all set". Then, an hour later I got a notification reminding me that I had to return the van by 5:30pm which made me wonder if she had done the paper work to ensure that I had returned the van at around 4:30. Not sure if I got overcharged or anything because she never went over any paper work with me when I dropped the van off. Not good customer service at all!

I did have to call road side service after loading the truck as there was an issue with the ignition. Had a hard time turning the key, and when it turned the vehicle would not start. I was able to put it in neutral and start the motor, it died seconds later. While waiting for road side service, I tried again in park and it turned over. I departed and cancelled road side service. Other than this issue, everything was fine. The young lady at the U-Haul location was fantastic.
