Truck had a lot of scratches that were missing marks on them. Also I rented a dolly which wasn't in the truck. Had to go back to the office to arrange that.

My experience at Uhaul is often a painful one. It certainly fills a need but wow, there’s always something that is a complete assult on the senses. The last experience yesterday I booked the truck online and chose the online checkout service. When I? got to the location, it wasn’t working for some reason ( could’ve been my GPS wasn’t registering properly). My husband was waiting for me in the car while I? asked an attendant how it worked. The attendant was stationed outside. The attendant said I? needed to follow the online instructions and immediately began yelling that “you can’t park there” to my husband. I? said we aren’t parking but I? just wanted to ask him about picking up my vehicle. Then he began shouting past me to my husband that he could t park there. I? told him I? was going to head back now and would ask him to move. The car was still idling with my husband in it. The attendant began yelling at me saying “I? can speak for myself, I? can speak for myself!, you can’t park there!” So I? walked back to my husband to let him know he had to move the car. Not too often you get completely jumped on by the proprietor of a business. So, I? go inside and wait in line. The lady at the front desk was very nice. I? get my keys and head to the lot. I? don’t have any direction or clue how to find my truck. I? start walking the lot. I? can’t find the truck and there doesn’t seem to be an order for how the trucks are parked . No one is there to help except the shouter who is off running around. I? have no interest in more shouting so I? try to find another person. Finally I? find another guy and asked if he could help me find my truck. He was nice enough to help. He said I? don’t know, did you look over there? I? said yes but didn’t see it. I? asked if there was a numbering system? He didn’t respond. He then pointed to another corner of the lot. “Check over there.” I did and found the truck, but it was blocked in. I? had to go find the guy again to help me pull the truck out. Overall the truck was in good shape and I? got my job done, but I’m still amazed by the experience.

I opted for the self check out. I could not make notes about the full condition of the vehicle because I have to report damage prior to getting the keys. With the frost, and tight parking I was not aware of the crack in the windshield or the extent of the crushed bumper damage and impact, it hindered the rear door operation a bit. I think you should have an option for additional damage report once the keys have been received, at least for a few minutes.

The people at the desk had good customer service. However, the person who actually gave me the truck didn't seem he was really interested in helping me - like he just wanted to get it over with. I was trying to use the Uhaul App to return the truck (after hours). The app would crash multiple times when uploading photos. I was using an iPhone 6. I had to use my friend's iPhone 8 to get through the whole process.

Hello I didn't like the kiosk that setup for customers .Who've made reservations over the phone or internet. The process is very frustrating and needs to be reassessed it complicates the check in process

Upon pick up of the truck, the agent stated, "We could have cleaned that better," when he handed over the keys. I then returned in the afternoon to have the tow dolly attached. At this point everything went south. While waiting to pay, the agent at the desk walkied to the service area to prep a dolly, and then proceeded to sit for about 5 minutes before I asked if I needed to do anything more. He stated that I would need to sign the contract, and he walkied again. Even though I had paid everything upon the truck pick up in the morning, I had to pay another service tax to have the tow dolly attached. I went outside to determine next steps (as I saw them bring a truck and tow dolly to the customer waiting area in the morning). After no one helped me in the next 10 minutes, I returned inside and asked why I wasn't being helped. Only then did they tell me I needed to drive the truck to the tow dollys (although they didn't tell me where they were, I had to drive into the equipment area to find them). I parked near a tow and waited for someone to help. Again, it took about another 10 minutes. Finally, when the dolly was attached, I asked if they helped put the car on the tow. Only at that time was I informed that there would be an additional charge for that. (I had called the day prior and inquired in the morning about the process and assistance with the entire rental process, and not once did anyone mention that there would be a charge for this.) Again, I went in to pay, and had another transaction (which I could have paid for with the initial transaction fee). I proceeded back outside to wait for assistance. After another 10-15 minutes, we finally flagged someone down to assist. His first question was, "Have you paid?" When we finally thought we were done, with assurance from the UHaul employee, we got in the truck preparing to depart. I then decided to look at the tow again. At this time we discovered that the ramps to get the car on the tow dolly had not been returned. Had we not seen this, we would have dragged the metal on the pavement before noticing this. This was an extremely frustrating experience when I was trying to move out of San Francisco. We arrived at the facility at 4:50, and by 6:45 we were FINALLY able to pull away -- prime time for ridiculous San Francisco and Bay Area traffic. Upon picking up the truck in the morning, we were informed that it would take maybe 15 minutes. If I had the opportunity to rent from this facility again, I WOULD NOT! Not only were the procedures horrible, the clarity and customer service was equally as awful. Additionally, for a long distance move, (San Francisco to Tacoma, WA), the equipment was well suited for an in-town move. There was no audio system other than a radio (no aux cord, cd player, or tape player). Nor did the seats or steering wheel adjust. All in all this was an extremely disappointing experience.

The policy to rent out trucks with a quarter tank adds unnecessary stress to the overall experience since you know have to be careful not to overfill the tank, since that is money you're not getting back. Also, starting out, my truck had slightly less than the quarter tank, adding to aggravation that now I'm going to have to pay for this.

I? request that this truck be inspected and reviewed so nobody else had to experience what I? did I? have also asked that someone from management call me but have not received a call as of yet. They can see my history and with my job I? rent trucks all the time and don’t usually have any issues but this time was horrible. I? like uhaul trucks cause there lower but I? may have to look more into Penske

The first few trailers light systems didn't work, but the great team found one that did and it was clean. I felt the staff was excellent, and I had booked last minute so they may have been able to check the lights before I got there, but I don't know.

Make sure your vehicles are in good condition before renting it to your costumer.I rented a 20foot truck and it was scary to drive because of the noise coming from the bottom and when I stepped on the break it still accelerate.We all scared and worried that soon it will break down.This was really inconvenient to drive and prone to accident,I'm glad nothing happened.This was our worst experienced renting at UHaul.Please don't wait till something bad happens to your costumers and make sure all your vehicles are safe to drive.Thank you!!

Robert, I believe his name was, the front desk person and same person who installed my wiring harness was very helpful. The guy who connected the trailer seemed stoned, did not tell me about the dolly or blankets that I was supposed to pick up, and may or may not have been responsible for the wiring connection not being connected securely.

The truck smelled of marijuana the whole time. Seats were dirty. Only inside help was helpful to us, outside people were unfriendly and gave us little help even though I did everything online.

First of all, I had a rental reserved by my apartment. I called to see if I could pick it up early, and they told me that my rental was not available there, but 45 minutes across town. Very inconvenient considering I would not have known and would not have got my rental because no one bothered to call me. Then when I arrived at the uhaul across town, they had no customer service and would not bother with acknowledging what happened. Then they gave me a van that had almost a quarter tank used of gas, and I filled it up all the way, without being reimbursed or acknowledged. Seems that the people working at that uhaul don’t care what so ever about their job. I was so completely disappointed with my overall experience. I’m honestly not one to complain, but I was trying to be understanding throughout my rental, but I didn’t feel that anyone was trying to do their job. Thank you for your time.

I could have scored this place almost excellent; however, from all four staff that are working a day before my pick up, there was one person that cannot see me standing 4 feet in front from her. I don't even know why she chose the white male costumer next to me first and even the costumer told her that I was first than him. But the lady said I can only help you because mine is different. Darn, how did she know that I'm there to cancel and then reschedule for today? such a mind reader. Early this morning was different, 2 staff only was on the front desk. One staff was training the male staff but they're both so nice and helpful. how I wish to rated this place excellent but this is for overall rate and one person is different from the rest.
