Lots of undocumented laborers hanging around key drop box, drinking alcohol and smoking pot, playing cards (gambling). It wouldnt be safe for a little lady dropping off after hours. There were at least 10 people loitering in front of the drop box just drinking in the open...not very safe.

Vehicle was not ready at the pickup time. It's kinda scary driving experience feels like the car was gonna break apart. Had to press hard to brake.

First time I arrived to pick up the truck the employees were very friendly, however, upon picking up the trailer the next day the employee's behavior was bordering on rude.

I was shifted to online service to check out my van and made me wait for 45 minutes for them to finish my request. So I went to the front desk and the lady there was really unprofessional. Definitely not going back. The guys at the parking lot were helpful though.

I selected to finish my rental with a customer service rep in person but was forced to use the phone/online option instead when I went to pick up the truck. Not only was my reservation incorrect but my truck couldn’t be found. And after wasting much of my time I still had to go inside to get the key. It would’ve been easier if they just let me complete everything in person with a customer service rep. The person at the counter was kind of rude and not helpful at all. She seemed more interested in helping her coworkers than the customers. Workers need to be trained on customer service and customers should not be forced to use the online checkout especially if the option for in person checkout is still available.

Drop off area is confusing since gate is closed. I was forced to use this location because my initial location at uhaul in downtown SF had a chain across the return location and a sign that read “did not accept after hours returns”.

We were told the day of our reservation that our location was changed from a location that was 10 minutes away from us to 30+ minutes away in San Francisco traffic. Absolutely unacceptable. Plus meant we had to incur extra miles.

I absolutely HATED the self check in. The reason I use uhaul is for the excellent customer service. The people at the location are lovely and helpful and I would much rather interact with them than my phone. I would have preferred to at least be given the choice.

I checked the vehicle into the lot with ease. The vehicle performance was excellent. The attendant was great. He said I could get a receipt inside. I went in and 4 employees were behind the counter. One was with a customer. I approached the counter with my paperwork and the employee said I would have to wait for the employee who was engaged. The other 3employees were discussing an computer input issue. After a couple of minutes another employee arrived and sat where one of the other 3 was seated. He asked If he could help and I put my paperwork forward and said I was picking up my receipt. He reached to the printer in front of him and gave it to me. Then one of the employees still sitting there laughed and admonished me for not asking earlier. The first employee was right in front of the printer that printed my receipt moments before. He couldn’nt be bothered to ask what I needed when I presented my paperwork. He dished me off to the employee who was already assisting someone. Even if they were supervisors busy with a computer issue, leaders should exemplify customer service. They shouldn’nt blow off customers and then admonish them for not being vocal enough for attention.

The management at this location has policies in place which guarantee employees will fail and customers will be dissatisfied. Sold me and unassembled trailer hitch and would not even let me borrow a crescent wrench. Would not even allow me to rent a crescent wrench. Said that the crescent wrench was locked up and only a certain person could unlock it because you got to pay them $30 to use the crescent wrench. Complete idiocy; and dangerous. Was seriously told that “oh, hand tight is OK.”

People were hanging around outside the entrance drinking alcohol, it was very intimidating and not welcoming.

The trailer had a lot of debris left over from some kind of contractor job. There were nails, screws and left over drywall in the trailer. When I opened the gate to load up my motorcycle, nails fell out onto the street and had to be swept up. The renal process itself was fine.

When I reserved the truck I rented I was told on the phone by the agent that the first 50 miles were included in the rental, with any miles after that being $.99each, but upon arriving at the rental location (Bayshore Blvd, San Francisco), that this was not the case & they charged me ALL miles $1.59each which I would not have rented the truck, if I had known this rate.

I was given a vehicle with so little gas in the tank that the "low Fuel" light was on when I left the lot. This is unacceptable. I do not expect to have to spend my time going to a gas station when I have rented a vehicle for work.

The guy who unhooked our trailer was very aggressive first he yelled at us for pulling in where the sign said to and then he was very gruff with my wife when she was backing the trailer into place. He then told us not to look at him as he unhooked the trailer. When I told him that I was gonna stand there until I could drive away he muttered obscenities under his breath and then threw the trailer on the ground. He really shouldn't have a job. I can't think of a time when I dealt with a more hostile employee. The cashiers where very helpful however.

Took 45 minutes to get a truck, had a truck with a broken latch, got another truck with a broken mirror. Also, *WAS NOT NOTIFIED* of the new location from the place I reserved, added an hour and $50 to my move. Worst experience i've had in a long time with any company.
