front desk staff do not look like they enjoy their job. the guy who helped us hitch the cargo trailer can also take some lessons in communication skills... we can barely hear him and he seems like he was mad. it was our first time hitching a trailer but we didn't get much help. we learned later that he didn't hitch it right... it was really noisy. we resolved the issue after we figured out that we need to tighten the hitch.

My U-haul was rescheduled for pick-up in Oakland. Then 10 minutes after the schedule pick up time, we were notified that Oakland did not have a vehicle for us. Don't take reservations if you do not have the vehicles available!!!

The location was the only downside.

I did not see anything to be improved. All of the staff provided excellent customer service. They are very professional and have great communication skills. Thank you very much for all your hard work.

Grado:

The location and truck was fine. But the reservation process was a nightmare! I ended being wrongfully sent to 3 Uhaul locations just to get a truck for my move, and the truck was smaller than what I reserved. It wasted 3 hours and completely derailed our scheduled move.

Nothing Super efficient

Grado:

U0Haul changed my preferred pick-up spot from East Palo Alto to the Candlestick location--without making sure I knew about the change. Cost me an extra two hours of time, plus additional mileage charges on the truck. Supremely customer unfriendly.

Grado:

The reason why I said no on the equipment is because the truck I had the driver side mirror was broken, and then tapped. It should yave been fixed not put back out on the road with it in that condition.

Grado:

Their was a lot of homeless standing around in front of the entrance/driveway it would be nice if this issue is addressed

Yizhen Y. en

Grado:

No one present to check out the equipment; overcharged by $100 for a 2-mile trip

Grado:

Was given false information about gas, was given one contract with gas almost full but car was close to empty when given called to complain but was told it would be delt with when I return the truck, it was not..I over paid for gas and want to be reimbursed for their mistake

Your employees are courteous and friendly, but they obviously have had no training for self check in customers. I tried to check in using my Uhaul app and was directed to stand in line to get the key for the truck when I was trying to check in. From the counter I was told to accept the "I found my truck" option. They told me it was waiting over by the trailers. This is a very large lot, and there were several trucks of the same size in that vicinity. Since the clerk had directed me to accept the "I found my truck" option on my phone I was prompted to the next screen on my app, where the truck number was no longer displayed. I had to wander around the lot until the clerk came out to show me what truck I was supposed to drive away in. Once located I had a friendly employee who was trying to help me complete the process while I was trying to do so on the app. It was a confusing transaction that could have been made simpler if you had trained your staff on the fact that you have a self checkout program. They obviously had no idea customers could do that. The truck I rented was great, but there was so little gas in the tank when I drove it off the lot, I was worried I would run out before I could find a gas station. I'm not exaggerating.

Human feces in cargo

Grado:

We arrived there approximately 4-5 minutes late and the staff that was there said nothing to instead used one of the Uhaul trucks to block the gate. Never approached us. So when I did get out of the car and mentioned that I was returning the the dolly. His reply was we are closed nothing else. I then mentioned we spoke with a staff member there who said we can leave the dolly and place the contract in the mailbox. He then says oh yeah just leave it over there. Now this was a long drive to meet with this sort of unprofessionalism and incompetence.

Grado:

You charged me twice on my bill and I've called 5 times to get it fixed without any help. This is ridiculous. Also the van was incredibly dirty on the outside it was hard to see while driving. The women at the counter didn't tell me where to park my car after hours and it got locked into uHaul for the night.

Vikas P. en

Grado:

I have returned the truck to this location based on the information from a customer support representative for after hours drop off since the pick up location did not provide after hour returns. I have been charged the return fees for returning the truck to a different location than pick up. I am not happy of this charges without my consent.

Grado:

It took 2 hours to check out a vehicle at this location. Also, I rented a 15' van and received a call from U-Haul customer service that only 10' van and a trailer was available in a 50 mile radius. Turned out, there was a 15' van available at this location and I had to request to switch back to my original request and pay more for the 15' van. Not a big deal but unnecessary stress on moving day.

SANDRINE B. en

Grado:

I came twice, on both times my truck and trailer were not ready and I had to wait hours and it seems like no one knew what to do and who's suppose to do it

Lorette V. en

Grado:

I would recommend utilization of miniture electronic devices for the rental pick ups to ensure that customers are attended to based the completion of payment and registration. The process of giving the receipt to an attendant is not a streamline process with a wait time of 15 minutes.

Denise P. en

Grado:

Help your customers at the counter faster. At least let them know you'll be right with them.

Carol S. en

Grado:

I had a reservation for a pickup truck, but it took 20 minutes to get the truck ready for my rental and I was the only person at the rental facility.

Edwin A. en

Grado:

I was overcharged. I called several times to make amendments by adding additional day instead of additional hours. However, the person who help me over the phone assure me that there will be no extra charges. It was clear that I will be only charge additional day + extra mileage that I would consume. I sent an email during the day I return the vehicle but did not receive any reply. I am really frustrated about my bill.
