I rented a u-haul van at the Bayshore blvd. location in San Francisco on Saturday Jan. 19th at 6:20 pm, was told by desk clerk at u-haul that They would be closed on Sunday Jan. 20th 2019 at 5:00 pm. Since I picked up van at 6:20 pm the day before, and try to get my 24 hours daily rate of 19.95, she told me to just park the van next to the front closed gate, and put the keys in night time key drop drop off box which I did at 6:20pm Sunday Jan. 20th 2019. I then got a received receipt via e-mail which show the morning clerk who collected all drop keys on Mon. morning Jan 21st 2019 charged me a extra day. The receipt shows someone at u-haul put 7:05 am Jan. 21st 2019 which then they charged me a extra day. This I reported to the bayshore blvd. location in San Francisco which they the clerk who answer the phone says she caught the error, and was going to credit me back the one day that they charged me in error. This to me was not a very good experience. I don't know if I will ever use this location again. Also the waiting with just one other person was long wait for the vehicle to finally arrive outside in the customer waiting area. Took about 30 minutes after checking at the front desk and the paperwork and waiting outside for 30 minutes for my van rental to arrive! I wish I could either get my money back, or a free one day rental at the same location to see if the service would improve from my first visit! Again, mayby it was just that one day I had to experience it, but it was a horrible experience which any customer should not have to go through!!! And again it was just me and 1 person both of us in the outside waiting area. He too was not pleased! I again would like a free one day rental to go through the process to see if the service will remain horrible, or if it vastly improves. Thanks! Raymond Frohlich.

Your staff is very aggressive and extremely confrontational! We even had one of your truck washers step up to one of my sons in a very aggressive manner while my son was in mid conversation with another one of Uhaul's employee. This male employee proceeded to berate my son with fat jokes. Yes my son is overweight, however; my son nor anyone for that matter should have to endure this kind of abuse from a well reputed establishment such as Uhaul or any other well known establishment for that matter. Yes, I understand there are 2 to 3 stories to be told for every incident in question. However, we have absolutely nothing to gain by lying or exaggerating the truth!!! Therefore, truth be known... I will definitely be giving this establishment the lowest score possible on several websites that that keeps track of scoring for future and prospected clientele! In closing, needless to say... I'm very disappointed with Uhaul as I've had a very long working relationship with Uhaul and sadly it has come to an end in an unpleasant way!!

While i realize the trailer is not waterproof and only water resistant, I would like to complain that there are cracks and holes all over the trailer and due to that my entire load was soaked due to some rain... also the interior was a mess when i picked it up and had to wipe down the floors before loading. This is unacceptable.

This new system of the customer going out into the cold and rain to do the inspection, identify the vehicle in the sea of vehicles, and do all the work your paid staff is meant to do is incredibly disgraceful and so much extra work for the customer who doesn't save a penny by doing it. Will avoid going to UHAUL as much as possible as long as this system is in place...truly inconvenience and so obviously meant to save money and work, and again at no savings to the customer. Horrible experience.

it would have been helpful if the customer service representative that booked my reservation actually knew the requirements to complete the reservation upon arrival. My reservation was several hours delayed due to the lack of information given over the phone when the reservation was made it was a huge inconvenience and I can never see myself using the services ever again nor will I be recommending this service to a friend.

Incredibly slow to check in, get the car, get my rental equipment. Several errors along the way. There was a very short line when I got there (2 people), but I stood for close to an hour before getting started. I had to go to multiple counters for this one rental (rental + supplies), each with their own wait. The line outside to get and return the vehicle also moved at a snail's pace. The check-in counter technology was all ancient (credit card had to be processed at two different counters, receipts couldn't be printed at the desk). They were out of stock on supplies I ordered online (which online system confirmed as available). Getting a refund for the supplies I didn't receive also took nearly 30 minutes. Of the supplies I did get, some were wrong, for example, my mattress cover wasn't the right one so I had to do the move without one (didn't notice until later). I have been really impressed with other locations like the one on Cambon Drive in SF. But this Bayshore one is a nightmare.

The website had very inaccurate information about equipment availability. Additionally, the website wouldn’t allow completion of online check in. Luckily, the staff at this location was excellent. Please fix website problems.
