Employees' masks do not cover their noses or mouths. Employees' do not social distance. Employees come close and talk without having their mouths covered with masks.
PRO: Staff was friendly & vehicle clean enough. CONS: #1 My reservation was for 1:30 PM and I was at the location right at 1:30. I had booked the van for four hours (returning 5:30 PM). Due to a "glitch" in the contract system I wasn't checked in until 2:06 PM (noted on contract) and didn't get a vehicle until 2:28 PM. I had anticipated about half an hour to get checked in, and their "glitch" put me behind schedule. I returned the van at 5:17 PM (noted on contract). #2 Charged $99 for a full day instead of $19.95 because vehicle's odometer showed I drove 110 miles, and any mileage over 100 bumps up your cost to a full day rental. The algorithms of Google Maps; Rand McNally; and Map Developers all calculated my miles for the routes I drove to total no more than 71 (rounded up). I feel I was overcharged.
The approval process took too long in my opinion. I used the app to get approved, so maybe it would have been shorter had I just gone in the store, but it took over 30 minutes after I arrived at the lot before I could drive away. You should give people the opportunity to submit documents for approval BEFORE arriving at the Uhaul location- why would I have my passport or lease on me unless I had known in advance I would need to bring it? Also, my phone died before I was able to return the truck to the lot. I was returning after hours, so I'll be charged a convenience fee because I wasn't able to be physically on location to checkout which is annoying.
I was frustrated but they were calm and exceptional. I got there early at 6:30. The lady started early and let me in at 6:45 Going the extra mile is unheard of in SF. I will definitely be back
No rear computer screen, empty space where it looks like it used to be.
Initially I was given a van that appeared to have some damage on the van. Is there ever an inspection prior to the individual picking up a van. I have previously used ur Van's and they have been n good shape. I think it would have been advantageous if the damages had been documented and the driver notified. thanks@

Great customer service
The guys at the shop were prompt and professional. However initially I was going to get a van that was so dirty. Unacceptably dirty, in and out. Then we asked for another and it still was dirty yet with less scratches and dents. Had it not been that at that point I had no choice I would have canceled my rental. Renting out dirty vehicles in the middle of an epidemic is just wrong. Disappointed.
When we received the Uhaul truck, the gas tank was almost empty. We had to immediately find a gas station after we loaded the truck to make sure we could get to our destination. My expectation when paying for a rental is that the gas tank is almost full or has at least enough gas in the tank for the mileage that was documented on the order.
Make sure the vehicle is clean and safe before renting to customers. The change oil soon light came on while I was driving and it was low on fuel!
They charged the wrong credit card.

Honesty about what you paying for. There wasn't any transparency of an extra charge of $20 dollars. Due to the pandemic, some business such as your valencia store took advantage. I rented a van for 3hrs and trying to find a gas station open and miles several miles than expected, so i called your 800 number to let them know that Valencia store closed at 5pm and I picked-up the van at 3:30pm. I asked the person helping me would there be a problem returning after the store closed, and would I be pay an extra amount because Im returning after the store closed and self check and would be easy. There was no mentioning return was going to be extra $20 because store was closing. Using the self serving return was kind of complicated even when calling the 800 number the agent explained that when we return the van on the property of Uhaul (Valencia) sensors would detect the Vans return, put the key in the return box, the following day I go online to check if I returned the van properly. Thats when I read the $20 extra charge for improper return! Im disappointed. That there wasn't an explanation how important following directions when returning after office hours That the cost would be higher Unfortunately for me... I guess. I most likely wont be renting from U-Haul again. For some $20 is nothing, but for a person like myself who gets paid once a month $20 bucks means a lot. And its unfortunate that people do get taken advantage. Just beware of the $19 to you read on the side of u hauls vehicles, expect To pay $75-$90 not the $19

The experience with the U-HAUL itself was fine. The only thing is that the approval process while waiting on my phone was a bit painful. It took a long time and I just wish this was completed during early check in Instead of on the day of. Having them calling 2 of my contacts took a long time and ate into almost 30 min of my rental time while waiting.
- The check in experience was very confusing and took way longer than I expected. It would be great to warn people that it may take up to an hour so they can plan accordingly. The person helping me on the phone did not know if I needed a key for the car or how to get one. I had to ask someone else renting a car in the lot. - The van has no rear window or mirror and no back up camera. I did not feel safe driving this in the city really and I definitely am gonna be cautious around them when I see them in the city. - It was not possible to figure out how many gallons of gas I needed to refill. There was mention of a gas level and scale in the contract which I did not find. I also could not find my contract on the website, only on my email. I had to call in to figure this out, and they had to call someone else too. The 7' van has no manuals or documentation on the website as well. - The van overall served my needs great and I was able to move everything I needed in 1 trip. I would definitely use this again if the vans become safer and the service more straightforward to use because in general the price is pretty good and the convenience is nice. Customer service is also good, but it seems like a lot is not known about this van or this rental service? Thank you
I had hitch install appointment last week after 2 weeks of wait.i got a call from uhaul confirming the appointment and when I get to the site they said tech is not here and part has not arrived. They rescheduled me for Thursday (6/4), no follow-ups no communication.
Change U haul's false advertising. Even on the side of the vehicles at this location your company markets 24/7 vehicle reservation and checkout via phone. This is a lie. I set an appointment for 8am checkout via phone and my appointment was changed to 9am without notice and not over phone, but in store. Please update your marketing to match your practices.
There were multiple issues with my pick up. 1.) i was sent to the wrong location then they rerouted me to another location on 100 Valencia. Making me late and costing me over 30$ in ubers. 2.) I had opted into the scan and drive feature. It did not work. Therefore, I had to wait in line and then the machines were down. My original pick-up time was pushed back an hour and a half due to these issues and my moving fees were higher due to loss of time and errors in location.
