Website says there is phone check in but there isn't due to too many break in on the lock box.
I had used the UHaul app to set up a contactless pickup, got the confirmations, etc. I show up, login, and the message is that it's an inperson pickup. So I have to wait almost a hour for a person to show up and handle the pickup. Very frustrating. The truck was great, the person was fine, but the experience was a pretty bad way to start a moving day.
Costumer service wasn't that good, didn't pick up the phone at all, I had to get there knock on the door To be able to rent, at check in he didn't explain how that receipt work and seem that it bothered him I asked about it.
Please have the customer service guy be more responsive to the phone or change your system - nice guy and excellent service when we got him, but had a lot of trouble reaching him
Actually this is helen jaehne. Mike was driver. I was so happy to see how clean our vehicle was. Comfortable. The employee at the store was more than pleasant. Courteous and knoew his product. Will b doi g another move in about a month. Will for sure be using you again

the gentleman handling our truck, Kendal from Acorn mini storage, was phenomenal.
My only issue was with the hired â€œmoversâ€ 8hrs to load a 20' truck is insane. Charged me an extra $400 on my CC and we didn't even get it unloaded leaving me with an extra days charge.
The employee that day working(August 1st) was one of the best, most sincere, and hard working employees I've had the pleasure to help me with my U-haul experience. I felt he went above and beyond his job to make sure I got the truck and every squared away, if he's not a manager that guy needs a promotion!
Update the Uhaul mobile app so I can only reserve a location's available units. I reserved a truck via the mobile app only to have someone contact me to change location. The new location was Acorn Mini Storage in Roseville, and they hadn't assigned the equipment, so I was unable to check it out via contactless method. The guy at the store didn't go over any of the details of my rental contract, what the starting fuel/mileage was. He gave me keys and said we'll figure it out later. I then received 3 phone calls from a local Uhaul representative for the details normally addressed prior to leaving with the truck such as fuel/mileage. Returning the truck, I was again unable to check it in via mobile app, so I had to leave the keys in the drop box and hope for the best. Overall, this was not a pleasant experience renting at this location.
The person (Rich) was friendly and helpful as much as he could be. My order included four (4) 6-packs of packing blankets, one (1) utility dolly, and two (2) furniture dollies. However, when I arrived at the facility he informed me that the site only had one (1) 6-pack of packing blankets and one (1) utility dolly. Rich informed me that the site does not check inventory/availability for equipment ordered; that is ridiculous. I had to move that day and needed the equipment. That is completely unacceptable that a company would allow customers to order supplies (that are crucial and time sensitive) without regard to the companies ability to supply the items. Rich instructed me to another site at which I got the supplies that I needed. So on the day that I needed to move and only had a limited time to do it, I was forced to drive to another facility Additionally, when I tried the mobile app to check the truck back in, the ability to take and attach a photo of the odometer and fuel gauge did not work; I tried it several times. This was not a good experience.
When I arrived I was told by the person behind the counter that he was at lunch and I would have to come back.
The fella that helped me was amazing. Friendly, informative, just an overall pleasure. I think his name was Kendall? Just a great experience.
Everything went well... except someone stole the packing blankets I reserved out of the truck before we had arrived. The staff notified me so were able to find alternatives and they did take that charge off of my fee right away so we were able to take care of it. The staff pushed us to take the free extra hour and they were right about that. Thanks!

The gentleman renting me the truck was in a rush to leave. Said he didnt have time to clean truck. Worst experience ever. I rent thousands of dollars a year in uhaul rentals and this gentleman made me think long and hard about using another rental company
Upon arrival for my reservation I find out the vehicle is not ready. I had to wait 3 additional hours to get a truck and was charged full price for it.
Boost the computer capacity so it is â€œthereâ€ when needed, otherwise excellent.
The truck is definitely well worn, which is fine. The big issue was that there is no backlight in the dashboard. I couldn't see the speedometer in the evening.
The online check in and check out process was absolutely horrible. Just so insanely bad. Like I'm never going to use Uhaul again bad.
The gentleman who processed my reservation was fine. Uhaul changed my pick up location which I find very frustrating. The location was out of handtrucks so I substituted an appliance dolly. Useless. On the positive, your Moving Help subsidiary is excellent.
Manager at check-in was nothing but nice and helpful. I was also surprised how nifty/advanced your vans are. Having a rear camera was super helpful, along with lights in the back. Will be renting from you again in the future. Only complaint is the $20 drop-off fee - that's steep. I didn't use this service because I was able to check-in online but I can see how people with little or no technology/English skills or don't own a smartphone would find the online check-in process is a bit complex and forced to use the employee check-in service. I didn't have a problem but I can see how others potentially could.
It was quick and easy to rent a vehicle. Returning it was easy as well; we just dropped the key in a drop box. I left an item behind and contacted the Acorn Mini Storage facility and they followed up with me promptly.
