what a piece of work this place is. I reserved an auto transport trailer. my reservation was switched from Belmont to this location. I showed up, and was helped by a girl whose name starts with "J" .. I don't remember it. No other customers were there at 12:30 pm and I got checked in pretty quickly. come to check the trailer and the front passenger side tire is bald.. and I mean this is not usable and dangerous. There is literally no tread left. As I was going to tow a car cross-state, at night, with my children in a cab of my truck, I was not going to accept this trailer. This girl proceeds to tell me that the tire is ok.. and I will be ok. When I don't accept the trailer again, she offers me the only option of a refund. I don't accept it as well, because my plans were made months ahead, and I am traveling that day. I asked to speak to the manager and her response is none are available and even if they were, they would tell me the same thing... I asked to call the main uhaul number, and she told me to call on my own. When I sarcastically told her that she was "very helpful", she mumbled something under her breath, just loud enough so I can hear. at this point some guy comes out from the back asks what is the problem, and after I explain the tire issue, he looks at it with me and immediately agrees it is not usable. Although another trailer is sitting there, I apparently can't take it because it is not "assigned" to me. and I was hauling one-way. He sais he will try to help. As I am waiting for about 15 min, I figure I'll call uhaul. The lady on the phone was helpful and was reaching out to the manager. Another 5 - 10 min later original "J" girl comes out and sais another trailer is there for me to use (3rd one). I look at it. and again tire is worn.. though not as much as the first trailer. As I still had the lady from uhaul main number on the line, she recommended I take the trailer, call roadside assistance and get them to come over and replace the tire. That idea was fine with me. Of course with my luck, computers broke and it took another 1+ hour to get the trailer and leave that place. at the end, I didn't have time to call roadside assistance and drove as-is. When I was returning the trailer at destination uhaul I mentioned the bald tire and got ignored.. last time for the redwood city.. it was a horrible experience. P.S. I took pictures of these tires, wish I could upload them

I was fraudulently charged $45 for refueling by the location. I returned the truck with the same amount of fuel or perhaps a bit more than when I picked it up.

The manager who opened up on 1/21 took my rental return key without explaining that it would cost me an extra $20 to do that rather than waiting to return it to him when he was at his computer in two minutes. That action was shady and indefensible. As a result, I'm not coming back to the location until those $20 are refunded - which he was supposed to call me back about, but never did. Poor, short-term decision to bilk an extra $20 from a customer. I will make sure to share that story and dissuade anyone who asks me about my experience with this U-Haul location.

Was told I would get a discount since my rental was not ready by 7am. Arrived at the new time and waited an additional 30 minutes despite having to pick up at 11am, lost pretty much half a day and then got no discount. Was pretty much late to deliver the truck, but I did not put gas since it was late. Would’ve been nice to wave the cost.

The counter staff also handled the release of the equipment outside. This left the front counter down to one employee or even unattended. I realize the cost of staff is a factor, but I think it would be more efficient to have the counter staffed at all times and have a couple of people dedicated to issuing the equipment outside. Not all day, but during the peak pickup times in the morning.
