Two things: 1. The insistence for a second phone number for the rental. Like many people in the 21st century I have ONE phone number, not two; after a brief discussion about this with the guy at the counter I gave him a non-existent number to placate him and continue with the rental. 2. The fuel reading was wrong (over-estimated at 7/8) at the time of rental, and corrected on my written contract at the time of pick-up (3/4). I returned it after hours at 3/4. Then, I was charged for the difference. So now I have to do extra work to get the trivial amount of money returned to me, which I will do on principle, but it's really irritating that this type of error, which cannot be uncommon, i not corrected at the time of rental/pick-up but has to be corrected with a call to Customer Service, and a payment adjustment.

truck leaked, had a rain shower in the 3 hours rented, leaked and there were signs posted inside cargo area showing where water was leaking, in my case I don't believe any damage was done.

We were told that our reservation, placed over a month ago, would not be honored because "our trailer" was dropped off some 200 miles away, and there was no comparable replacement in a 50 mile radius. We settled for a smaller trailer, but had to drive 15 miles out of the way to go pick it up. When we returned it, we dropped off at the location we originally placed the reservation for, and were charged additional fees for "one way" rental. We are not going to use UHaul again, as this was truly an inconvenient experience, both logistically and with poor customer service.

I arrived to pick up a 26' rental at 9am and was told my reservation was cancelled because my reservation was set for 7:30am. After they cancelled my reservation they rented out the 26' truck to someone else. I stated there is nowhere on the website or confirmation email that stipulates a time limit. I chose 7:30am because there was no stipulation and since I was getting dropped off I gave myself a bigger window for drop off. I had completed the early-bird checkin 2 days ahead of time to 'smooth' the process and apparently checking in doesn't mean you get the reservation you requested either. There was no warning, no phone call, and no notification whatsoever that my reservation could and would be cancelled. The associate offered a 17' truck in Belmont and which I replied I was dropped off and have no way of getting there. Plus the mileage would be on my tab anyway. I thought it very rude and inconsiderate that my reservation was cancelled without notice. What is the point of early bird check in if it's not treated as a legitimate check in? The associate helping me was very kind and very professional. This complaint is directed at the reservation policy and not the associate bearing the bad news.

Rented vehicles from this location before. This time, the first cargo van was smelling so bad that after driving a few blocks, I turn back and surrendered the van. The next one give to me smelled like pizza but took it. I had to seal the cargo section with plastic to make my wife and myself more comfortable to drive all the way to Reno and back. Very disappointed. I will choose another company next time. The smell was like manure or as if someone transported animals.

Nick Lopez, the General Manager was so helpful when we needed a truck for donations to those affected by the floods. He was immediately available when we found we needed another truck quickly to hold all of the donations. The others working there were also helpful and super nice.

Have the office's pick up their own phones instead of a call center call center don't know if the trailers are vehicles are available and then to drop off locations are sometimes rejecting vehicles from being dropped off due to inconvenience or not enough room luckily where I turned in my vehicle I could not remember her name she was nice enough to take the vehicle in in for me her customer service was excellent the location in in Redwood City was very poor i will not rent a U-Haul truck again!

I used the online registration tool before I showed up. That made everything smooth as glass. In my case I already knew what I wanted. The only suggestion might be to provide a self service terminal for the online tool. Then again these days if you don't have a smart phone maybe a self serve terminal would be a waste.

The representative who actually checked me in and gave me my keys could not have cared less about what he was doing. The truck had some significant damage upon pick-up, but he didn't want to go through the motions of filling out the proper paperwork. I opted to just walk around the truck and take a video. Overall, I have always enjoyed this location's staff. I'll never go anywhere else for propane, and I've been happy overall with the equipment and truck rentals.
