Make sure gas is actually at 3/8 of a tank. I took the truck with less than that much and returned with more than 3/8 of a tank and got charged for about 20 miles more than I actually put on the vehicle.

All I can say is "tell your customers it's ok if they need to use the equipment for an extra day, two or three". Let them know that you will be putting thru another charge (hold) to their acct so it's all clear to them. Thank you U-haul associates at Indian School & 26th St for all you do.

Nothing to improve. Had requested a 8:30am pick up and when we arrived the manager had the truck ready up front and just signed for the truck and left. The total time was less than 10 minutes (way to give outstanding service U-Haul).

I originally wanted to rent the truck for one day. 24 hours. I called 5 hours prior to the time it was due back to let Uhaul know I was going to be keeping it an extra day. When I called, I told the rep my full name, the size truck' and the time I rented it the day before and explained tof the rep at the location I picked it up from, that it was taking a little longer than expected due to the rain. He said no problem and that it would be fine. He was already saying thank you and goodbye when I asked him don't you need my phone number or reservation number? He said no that he had it and would put it in the computer and would take care of it. I thought it was strange but I still repeated my name and phone number to him just to make sure and he said not to worry about it that he had it. The next day around 10am I received a call from the uhaul location saying they expected the truck back yesterday. I told him I called 5 hours before it was due back in. Explained to him what the rep told me. He then verified with me that I needed to return it by 330pm. I told him that I had planned to and probably sooner. Well just after I spoke with him, I went out to open the truck and there was alot of water that had come in thru the front container drivers side of the uhaul. It was already half full of my belongings. Water did not come in from the lift door, it leaked in from the left top of the container. It was still coming in when I noticed it. My mattress was wrapped in a tarp to keep it from getting dirty and was soaking wet on the whole front side and bottom. Many boxes were drenched on the bottoms and pictures were ruined. I took pictures of what I could before getting towels and soaking up an inch of water that accumulated in the front of the container. The truck was on total level ground. And no water came in through the door. I only saw the severity of it all 4 hours later when I was unloading everything. As I was rushing to get the truck back I only had time to take pictures of the exterior part of the boxes and tried to store them sideways hoping they would dry in storage. I returned the truck and hour early from my 48 hours. As soon as I pulled up, a rep met me, I told him right away that the truck has major leaks in the front left of the box. He took the keys as I went in to finalize my bill. As soon as I walked in the rep behind the counter had my reciept printed up. I was explaining to him my problems I had and he said. The truck is not waterproof only water resistant. And that I should have gotten insurance. I explained that there is no way it was even water resistant with all the water that came in. And all the pictures I took of everything that was drenched. He continued to give me the reciept and said sorry that there was nothing he could do. I was very upset at this point. I said why? He then said how many boxes were affected? I said 6 not including my pictures or mattress. He then walked over to the new boxes on display and offered me

The truck I rented was functional and maintained, even if high miles and a but shabby looking. My main issue is with the idea of paying a base rate, plus per mileage charges, and also having to replace fuel used. Seemed exhorbitant.
