I was charged a huge fee , Shenzhen the words in the reservation agreement stated no charge until later. When I called the 800 the repsentative did not apologize or take any responsibility, he blamed me cc company very rude. I am not pleased at all !!!!

I reserved a 17' truck, was told all they had was a 20' truck and would give it to me at the same price. When I went to pick up the truck they told me they only had a 15' truck. I wasn't able to fit what I needed to fit in the truck in one trip costing me more than anticipated because I did not get the truck I ordered and the one they were gonna give me instead was not available so they gave me a smaller one and charged me the same. Not cool! I'm moving across country from Omaha, NE to Saco, Maine in about a month and a half and will need to rent a big truck one way and will have to take my business elsewhere because I can't trust I'll get what I need even if I reserve it by phone like I did this time.

I originally reserved a location 2 weeks in advance at a location close to the move site. They called me the Friday before the move and informed me that I would have to pick up at the some other store at a later time. I told them I had movers coming and I wasn't going to pay them to sit around and do nothing until the truck showed up. After several phone calls they finally arranged for at truck at the Maple Street location 15 miles away. I spent a lot of time on the phone trying to make this work. All I got was excuses why they couldn't make it work on their end. It was a total fiasco. I did a lot of planning for this move and they threw a wrench right in the middle of my plans. They offered nothing for my inconvenience. I had to ASK for additional mileage since the original contract did not have enough mileage to cover the additional 15 miles. If you can't meet an obligation to have a truck at a preferred location with 2 weeks advance notice, then don't offer it as option when someone makes the reservation. And if you can't meet your obligation, COMPENSATE the customer for the inconvenience. I really don’t care how many people move every weekend in Omaha, Nebraska. That’s not my problem. That’s your problem and you should do something to make it work. Don’t make it my problem. Also, the truck they gave me really needs an alignment. I had to constantly hold the steering wheel at the 10 o’clock position just to get it to go straight and the steering was really loose. Thankfully, this wasn’t a cross country trip so it was annoying but manageable. The transmission doesn’t downshift until about 4500 rpm. Seems awful high to me. And the mirrors were off and couldn’t be adjusted without an Allen Wrench (which I didn’t have). Imagine driving down the highway in a huge loaded truck with a front end out of alignment and loose steering while having to shift this way and that in your seat to be able to see the traffic around and behind you.

I have never personally used uHaul before this move, but have moved plenty of people who have, and the trucks are great for moving. Unfortunately, the 89th and Maple location forgot to put the appliance dolly I payed for in my truck rental. Now you think that wouldn't be a big deal, since I called and they told me I could pick it up at any other location, since I was from Bellevue, but my customer experience from going to pick up the dolly from Bellevue Rental was the worst I have ever had. I called Bellevue Rental Center, as it was the closest location to me, and the guy immediately told me that it was my fault my dolly wasn't included. He told me I should have checked the truck before I left, and that my generation is always playing the victim. I seriously thought he was kidding until I came in and met him. He immediately sent me away, since I didn't bring my uHaul contract. When I told him I wasn't aware I needed to bring it, he shrugged and said, "you should have asked!" I walked away pretty upset, as I could tell this guy was just trying to make me mad, and told him I'd be back in 5 minutes with it, since I live so close. I came back within 5 minutes and he closed down the shop for the rest of the day. I went to pick up my dolly at another location in Bellevue, and when I told the guy what happened, he told me they were just waiting for that guy to retire as he is terrible at customer service. I just can't wrap my head around how someone like that can be working at such a customer care centered company as uHaul. That just shows awful management, zero consequences for being bad at customer service. I really don't what to say, the rest of that day I was just so mad about that ordeal.
