I was re-routed to 4 different pick up locations total. I knew there was a chance it would not be where my original reservation was made, but then it went to another and then another. It literally changed once while I was on the phone with a Uhaul rep. In the course of 1 phone call, suddenly the truck became "unavailable" at the location the rep had just told me I was picking up at. I'm not sure how something like that happens. I ended up having to change the size of truck in order to pick up at an acceptable location. We were using this truck for a fundraiser for a local school, so we were not going to spend a lot more money just to drive extra miles for pick up and drop off. Not to mention the fact that when we made the reservation, we were promised a "charitable cause" discount that was then denied because of the change in pickup location. It appears that Uhaul is trying to make more money off of people by requiring them to drive further to pick up and drop off. If this is happening to everyone that makes reservations, I'm not sure how the company remains in business. The Olathe location was fine and staff was nice, but the overall experience has made our group look to other companies for future business.

The U-Haul has over 130,000 miles. Poor steering and switched into nutreal while driving. Felt very unsafe and had to avoid highways and put on extra mileage to avoid interstate. Told employee when I dropped off and he dismissed me and said ok, I’ll look at it.

I rented the trailer and proceeded to the location to load it (45 miles away). A Brinks padlock was on the door (no key). I called customer service. They attempted to contact local U-Haul stores to remove the lock, but was unable to contact them. I was told to buy a pair of bolt cutters to remove the lock and that I would be reimbursed for the expense. I purchased the bolt cutter at Home Depot for approx $25.00 (I do have the receipt). I have left a message for the Gen Mgr (S Douglas Carrithers, jr. at the store where it was rented to determine if the store will reimburse me for the bolt cutters.

I dropped off 2 pieces of equipment overnight. The next day, I received a receipt for only one item. I returned that afternoon to talk to the store and the employees went out back to confirm the equipment was still there and then processed the receipt right in front of me. Additionally, I was charged for "2 extra days" on the truck, even though it was returned early. The employees stated they saw it was returned to a wrong location, but my invoice physically said "2 extra days." I was told to resolve this issue, a customer ticket was submitted, but the employee didn't have any reference info to give me. When I talked to a customer service rep on the phone, she provided me that reference number right away.

Check the gas gage against the paperwork when checking the vehicle with the customer. My sheet said 3/4 on the paper and 1/4 in the truck. I was smile away when I noticed and the Olathe office would not answer their phone when I called.

Hard to fault the location for the over crowding in the drop-off zone, but I really lucked out in being able to take the last available place for the trailer drop off. VERY tight fit pulling in. I did not go into the retail space, I was only outside. I pulled into the receiving bay area and observed the sign that asked me to remain in the car until someone helped, but I think everyone was busy. I waited a while and then decided to complete the self-serve equipment return instead. One of the staff was able to come out and finish putting the trailer away after I had completed the self-service return.

This location was fine, but your reservation service and website need a BIG improvement. This is the third time I have reserved something online only to be later called and advised that the equipment I need is not at that location, or available at days and times requested. I had help arranged and this cost me time, money and major inconvenience. Reservation service was barely apologetic and pretty much told me to pound sand. That is TERRIBLE customer service.

Your online account system is a joke! I completely filled out my entire reservation and when I got there still had to wait in line and be asked all of the exact same questions all over again! What is the purpose of the system? It is NO faster whatsoever!
