We were very disappointed to find that the UHaul we reserved several weeks ahead of puck up was not at the location we were informed to pick it up at. The man at the Washington location was of no help. I had to call Uhaul to find out why our reservation was not there, we were instructed to go to the above location to pick up the vehicle this delayed us by almost 2 hour's off our schedule. Hopefully next reservation we make will be a better experience. The Oakland location was awesome. The Washington location in San Leandro was useless to us. The attendent offered no help or solution.

The young man who received us when we dropped off the truck was unfriendly. I wasnt sure about the return procedure so I went inside as there was no verbal communication. His attitude was bad.

The truck that I rented didn't have the correct mileage or gas levels, as per my contract. The mileage was stated to be LESS than it actually was and the gas was stated to be MORE. Consequently,when I checked my email I realized that I was CHARGED additional fees. I called to speak with a supervisor to explain and be reimbursed but no one was available. I was told that I had to wait for someone to call me back

The site was under staffed at the counter which led to a longer than expected wait time. This was also the same problem when I went to pick up my cargo van only it was made worse because the attendant was not properly trained and had little motivation to hustle. I do however like the manager but his inability to reallocate the workload of the staff to reduce the wait time of the customers is problematic.

My experience was terrifying with Uhaul Oakland and their corporate counterpart. I called to arrange shipping of 6 u boxes, verified multiple times over the phone including the day before shipping. Day of shipping I call the local uhaul where ive stored my boxes for months and they tell me they don't offer this service and blame corporate for the false information, then proceed to charge me full price for a small 15ft truck that didn't hold half my stuff.

I have used U-Haul across two decades and two states. I usually dread interacting with the employees. I was completely blown away by the excellent customer service at this location. When I arrived there was quite a line of customers and only two desk employees. To my surprise (and out of the norm for U-Haul) the line moved quickly and I was soon helped by Melody McGuire Cooper. Despite being busy she had the most welcoming and kind hearted demeanor. She was professional and proficient while being friendly and funny. You could not have a better representative for your company. When I stepped outside to get my truck I was helped by another great employee. I didn’t catch her name but she again charmed me with her pleasant and professional demeanor. The worst part about moving is that I won’t be able to rent from this location again. I hope that these employees are recognized for their contribution. The type of service they gave was not a show. These individuals are kind and happy people that deserve appreciation and acknowledgment.

Make sure that the meter reading on the odometer is reflected correctly on the paperwork handed to the customer (otherwise time is spent rectifying the issue to reflect correct mileage.)

my rental reservation was made for north oakland, not far-far-far east oakland. uhaul called never confirmed reservation pickup location was changed. i wasted an hour going to north oakland to be redirected to 45mins south (rush hour, sucked). the location; must be a busy place, they had a we're doing it on our time attitude, get ready to wait. happened picking up and dropping off. maybe place is understaffed, don't care. a smile and effort please.

I booked a van online with the intention of picking up the vehicle at a designated location, closer to our final destination. The next day I got a text and email notification with the instructions to pick up the vehicle at a separate location, almost 8 miles away from the original destination. The location, vehicle and personnel at the location where great! I would recommend them anytime. But why would the website reservation/ location change? This error cost me more miles than I expected to pay. I think this not a transparent policy from the company and it makes Uhaul look a bit shady ( for lack of a better word), when reserving a vehicle on their website.

Don't bother with the mobile check-in. Laborious process needing you to do this and that and then finally ask to bug your friends to prove you're you. Instead go in and out from the desk in under 60sec instead.

I waited for up to half an hour to get the truck and when they pointed out the truck to me another employee was sleeping in the drivers seat!! I dont know if he was drunk or just tired and then only that I asked for an extension because I need a couple more hours since by the time I left I wasted an hour there and U-haul charged me for another day!! I want my money back because I had the most terrible experience with your company, which I have used many times before!!

Angel was the only reason we had a good experience at this location and with Uhaul in general. He consistently went above and beyond. We were left alone for 30 minutes by another associate with no clue of what was going on. As soon as Angel noticed our confusion he took charge of the situation and had everything taken care. He handled the paperwork and had us ready to go in less than 15 minutes. Angel was efficient, reliable, and deserves full credit for a genuinely pleasant experience.
