It seems that this pickup ocation did not take any actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The vehicle checkout took place in a small office room with insufficient ventilation and two employees inside, neither of them wearing a mask. I did not had the impression that any interior or frequently touched surfaces of the vehicle were disinfected after the previous customer. The vehilce back door and the ramp needed an "extra push" to be used. The vehicles were quite old. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions.
Terry and Brandon always go above and beyond to make sure I have the right rental trailer for my in-state and out of state rentals.
One thing that REALLY irritated me was when I asked the price it was $40 for the day. Fine, great price. However then it was .79 mile, insurance, taxes etc. We had the Uhaul for 3 hours, drove 60 ish miles and the total was $92. I get it, they DID tell me upfront about the fees but I didn't think about it being more than DOUBLE the amount. My own fault, but just felt a little.....sleezy.
Did an early morning drop. Signage was clear, easy parking area for larger vehicles.
The attendant Did not inspect the vehicle while I was still present. I was unfairly charged doe blankets to be folded and supposed clean up. I cannot imagine this effort was more than 5-10 minutes. I wish this inspection was done While I was still there as I would've been happy to fold the blankets and briefly sweep whatever minor amount of sweeping was needed.
It's a small location with a very little space for customer parking. If anyone wants to hire a large truck it would be very tricky for new drivers at this location. The equipment is not well maintained with paint almost gone and lights etc hardly visible it's not up to the mark.
When I went to my original place to pick up my truck it was not there, I had to travel to a different location.

The receptionist didn't seem to really know companies policies and procedures for renting a U-Haul. She was very unorganized and not very clear with answering my questions.

The customer service at the corporate office (scheduling) was horrid!!!!!!! They never mentioned the term â€œpreferredâ€ location to me on the day I scheduled my truck. They never informed me that I had a mileage cap either. I found out both of these the hard way!! I received an email telling me to pick up my truck at the grand river location by 3:40pm. So when I got there expecting to pick up my truck I was informed that I needed to go to another location and that location was opened until 3 pm but when I called the other location I only heard the answering machine saying they closed at 2pm. Then it took the manger an hour to find anything or to get a hold of anyone from another location to help. They did get a hold of the customer who had my truck but informed that even when they dropped off my truck at 3:30 at the other location that I couldn't just take it because they were not linked with that other location. So I realized that even if I would have gotten to the other location on time my truck wouldn't even have been there!!!! I learned a lot of your companies terminology that day the hard way - if the scheduling person would have just said all of those terms to me in the first place that would have saved me a lot of headaches!! It was a total fiasco!!!! The manager did find me a â€œone way truckâ€ (which that was another term that I was not informed about) in a different city. That location was very helpful and nice - it was in Novi. Then when I returned the truck in Toledo Ohio they informed me that I went over the mileage. Which thankfully this charge was only .87 cents but it was just so annoying because no one had even informed me that I had a mileage cap!!!!! The main scheduling office was horribly rude as well when I called them back on the day of pick up - the woman was very short with me telling me that they would have sent me another email and called me telling me that my truck was not available at the originally location that they emailed me first about. I told her that I never received a second email or phone call!!! She did not care at all about the situation. Their customer service was horrid!! I now know that U-Haul is a company that I will never be able to count on for anything. I know how much word of mouth is good or bad for a company do believe me a lot of people will hear about what happened to me and my family At U-Haul!!
It was unclear where to park the truck upon return. Clear signage would have helped. There were used tissues in the driver side door when picked up truck.
we had an open trailer. there was a rib bone on it when I got it home, probably from a critter since it is stored outside. Very easy to pick up and complete paperwork. Uhaul app on drop off (outside of hours) was challenging as I kept getting location error messages
We drove with the trailer from Michigan to Chicago with absolutely no difficulty! It was the perfect size to haul from the back of our truck! Easy pickup and convenient drop off since we left it in Chicago about 10 minutes away from our destination. The location in Novi was close and the employees are very helpful!

I had reserved 36 moving blankets and this location didn't have any on the day I was scheduled to pickup the truck. My sister-in-law had the same problem 3 days earlier with renting a truck and blankets from you. She had hired movers to her house and had no time to run around and find blankets from other locations. I was aware of this possible issue and had time to run around and get blankets before my movers showed up. Your company should not allow you to reserve something that will not be available at the truck pickup location. Based on my investigation, most neighborhood pickup locations don't and moving blankets on hand to offer you and therefore can't provide them even when you reserve them weeks in advance. You need to resolve this issue or at least inform your customers in advance of their scheduled pickup day, so they have time to find them in their area. My Sister-In-Law and I were not happy with is issue at all. Please make it a priority to fix this as soon as possible.
Easy in and out the door quickly.
It rained on the trip to Chicago and the truck leaked. My rug got wet. This was also not the location I was asked for in the reservation. I asked for Ann Arbor location and Uhaul gave me Novi at the day before. This was very poor. It caused me to have to take additional time off work to make any of this happen.
Very courteous and professional staff. Easy check out and check in. Truck ran well, but was a little worn and especially noisy.
