We ordered a truck but the day before we were told that location couldn't honor our reservation. We were told to go to another location and we were told we could pick it up after hours. We were told to drive to the location (and the system would recognize we were there), open the app, select pick up my truck and get the combination to the lock box to get our truck. However, the whole system must have been down because instead of giving us the info we needed, it directed us to call a # which we did. However, when we did we were given a message saying the wait was over 60 min for an operator. I called the main # asking for a direct local # or any number that could help us and I was told I had no other options. The next day the facility told me they do have a # they answer after hours but I had no way of getting it. Clearly, the poor training of staff created a headache for us. As a result, we went home and returned the next day when the facility opened. These unfortunate missteps by UHaul foreshadowed additional more troubling problems we encountered at the South Bend U Haul facility on Western Ave. I was assigned a drop off and storage unit location there. I didn't select it. However, had I researched it I would have found that it was one of the lowest rated U Haul facilities in existence as evidenced by their online reviews. Last night I was given a review link to review the storage facility which I did so I won't repeat myself here. However, I encourage you to check it out for the alarming details which I would hope you would agree were totally unacceptable. The bright spots were the movers powered by U Haul both in jAppleton and Indianna and the attendant at the U Haul South Bend Indiana Facility on Western St. DARNISHA who I met with Sunday (unlike the person working the prior day which caused a series of problems for us). As I indicated, the concerns with the South Bend facility seem to be pervasive. I would expect to get a second month free storage for all of the missteps and misinformation that occured. I hope to hear from someone who tries to right these wrongs.
