REX YThis review pertains to our experience with UHAUL in general, not the local dealers. The entire experience was dysfunctional, expensive chaos. The reservation was made online. Everything that was supposedly available per the online transaction turned out to not be available. The price turned out to be nearly double. The return location for a one-way trip turned out to be non-existent, which forced us to opt for a round trip instead. The moving blankets that were ordered and paid for were not available when we showed up to get the truck. All of this was discovered at the time of pick-up when we could not just change our plans. Move-out day is move-out day, people! While the local dealer tried to accommodate us, UHAUL itself did nothing to help the customer or the dealer. The dealer tried to create a new order and cancel the original. It didn't work. He tried to call for assistance and sat on hold without ever getting connected to help. We lost two hours of our move-out day sitting at the local UHAUL office. Then in the end, upon returning the truck, the UHAUL app didn't work, so we couldn't do an automatic return. We had to wait for the local dealership to open an hour and a half later at which time we tried to complete the return in person. That dealer also could not connect with anyone to help. If that weren't enough, in the end, their system charged us additional money for supposedly going over the mileage allowed. We initially paid for 110 miles and actually traveled 105. Somehow, UHAUL thinks that is going over the mileage and charged another $60. In the end, we paid twice the amount it should have been. For us, the conclusion is "Never again"! Advice to others is to look elsewhere. Further more, this review form only allows fingers to be pointed at the local dealer without opportunity to evaluate the company itself. To be absolutely clear, our criticism is toward UHAUL- the big company - not the local dealers here. Never again. If we could give zero stars, we would.
