At first when I came for my reservation, they stated there was no truck available. Despite seeing the truck on the property, the rental location stated they had lost the keys to the truck I reserved. After taking close to half an hour the keys were finally located. After returning the truck the next morning, I received a call inquiring where the truck was and asking if it was returned. It was located exactly on the lot where I had taken it from and a simple look around would have found it. I called back to state they did not find the keys (placed in the box they requested) until later. Very poor customer service experience and did not feel my business was valued. Will not rent from this facility ever again.

made reservations for my U-Haul order at least 10 days prior to my pickup date. The day before I was supposed to pick up the truck, I was told my pick up location was switched to a location that over 40 minutes away. I need to be compensated because my original location was only 5 minutes away, due to the last minute change made by your company I had to drive 80 miles round trip instead of 10! I had to pay for all of this out of pocket. This is completely unacceptable!

Dumb idea, but could U-Haul accept "used" moving boxes of standard size and "repackage" for resell? Charge less for used but still make a profit? That would provide us with a good place to deposit still-good boxes and be environmentally friendly. Not sure the spreadsheet would work, but an idea.

The gas should be full when picked up. It is hard to figure out how much will fill up 1/8 of a tank which is what was in the tank when I picked it up. The online pickup took about 20 min which is a little inconvenient when you have a time frame with the truck. The drop off was easy bc the location was actually open.

The drop-off location lied about the amount of gas left in the truck that I dropped off after hours, thereby charging me an additional $25.50 for fuel (apparently for 1/8 of a tank - do the math - it's way too high), and then $30 for someone to pump the gas (also outrageous).



This has nothing to do with Car N Go. But the U-Haul app is a total waste. When I showed up to pick up the truck, my app would not show the option to check out. I called customer service and spent 45 min waiting for someone to answer my call. After spending another 45 minutes on the phone, trying to get pictures uploaded (the app doesn't work with iPhones very well I was told during all of this), we got disconnected and she didn't try to call me back. I went home and called again, but because I wasn't willing to spend more time onsite at 10p at night, I was told I had to call scheduling at 7a. I called at 7a, but found out because it was Sunday, scheduling doesn't open until 9a. Once I got someone in scheduling, they were awesome! I had the truck by 9:30a ( but I had planned to be on the road by 9a, not just starting to load the truck). Then when I went to return it, the location I selected on the app doesn't take after hours drops, which the app should have told me. So I had to call customer service again. This time I only waited 15 min, but while waiting I googled and found a location that took after hours drops. I told the rep where I was taking it and he put me on hold. I was at the location and ready to drop the key when he came back and said for me to take it to Springfield, VA (30-45 min away). I told him no, that I was at the location and another person was dropping their truck off after hours. He told me to drop the key and he would notate my account. What a nightmare experience! Not because of where I rented, but because I was doing after hours pickup & drop. The app needs to be improved greatly and I don't recommend using it if at all avoidable.

The problem was no one told me the location had changed. I went to the one that was in my order. Then had to call my ride back because they said they did not have truck. They looked up my order and I had to go 12 miles in another direction. This was not their fault but a notice would have been nice.

I’ve had the most horrible experience with U-Haul. I reserved a 26’ truck for 8:30am on June 16th and I contacted the customer service center to confirm the pick up location. The location given was more than 30 minutes from my house and when I went to that location I found out my reservation was moved to another location at 4:30pm not the 8:30am as requested. I contacted the customer service again to get hung up on my the representative who obviously wasn’t trained on quality customer service. I scheduled movers for 9:30am to assist me with moving my stuff out of storage and I was very lucky they didn’t have another job. My two little girls and I arrived to pickup the truck at 4:15pm from CarNGo off Hull St Rd in Midlothian, Va and I turned on the AC in the truck and HOT air was blowing. The truck DID NOT have AC and I was driving out of town. I went back inside to speak with the receptionist about the AC problem and told them the truck had no AC, and she was able to find another truck over 30 minutes from the location, but I couldn’t get the truck due to my schedule with the movers. My movers were already on their way to the storage unit to help me move out before 6pm. I understand things happen, but U-Haul needs to call people when they’re unable to meet the customer’s request, because this has cost me more money and I had to unload a 26’ truck with my 12 year old, since my movers scheduled to unload had another job. They lost money as well.
