The customer service was excellent as they were willing to help us out by opening earlier than normal and then getting a substitute truck when the reserved truck wasn't returned by the previous renter. The only suggestion would be for Uhaul as a rule make sure that if certain equipment is reserved that it be available. I had reserved both a hand truck and a furniture dolly. Neither was available, but I made do without.

The third party businesses were great but the u-haul company is terrible worst experience I've ever had moving
Truck smelled like old cigarettes and was dirty on the inside . The steering was very loose making it hard to control above 45mph.

I Had to hook up trailer myself, they had no one that knew how to hook it up. Ordered 12 blankets, they only had 6 and they were dirty. I will not go to Smokey point again. They do not carry U Haul supplies.
Trucks are expensive to rent, There is the base pay which is expected, and then the refueling which is expected, additional insurance fee for hazards also expected. But in addition to that $1.39 per mile? That's very expensive, there could be a minimum amount of miles before that fee kicks in. For $1.39 a mile I expect the insurance and fuel included. Anyhow just a fantasy thought.
The location and personnel were fine BUT I am NOT happy with U Haul. After reserving a 26 ft truck online, my pick-up time and location were changed significantly. Then when I went to pick up the truck it was not there. The previous customer had not returned and was at least one more hour delayed. The window between rentals was too narrow. I understand that inventory is limited right now but don't make promises you can't make good on, especially when it comes to moving. The staff offered me a 15 ft truck which was too small but not having time to wait I took it. Thankfully my move was local and I was able to get it done in two trips. I was comped some furniture pads and miles for which I am thankful. But I would not recommend U Haul at this time.

Location was fine. Equipment was very clean. No dolly in back as originally requested. Vehicle had a change oil light come on just before our destination. Oil pressure gauge began bottoming out. Called uhaul, they sent someone out who checked it and reported it just needed oil. Tech added oil and said it was good to go. Returned to the uhaul location where someone was waiting for it. Explained I was a half hour late because a tech was working on the vehicle and they were very understanding. However uhaul never notified the dealer of problems with the vehicle or that it would be late. The vehicle is being sent out with the next person who really needed it and I personally am concerned the vehicle may break down for that person. Uhaul needs to notify the dealers and people they have scheduled for these vehicles.
Truck windshield was very dirty with excessive bug splatter and the cleaner tank was empty
I did not receive the equipment I ordered on the 18th to help my move and was told it would deliver on the 26th, well it was arriving late on the 27th as we were loading last load and leaving. So I refused delivery and should get a refund if not already done.
Windows were pretty dirty
I reserved a truck for 8am and was going to pick up without desk service(no contact). When I arrived to the location it was closed and when I checked in as directed I was told to return at 10 as the location only offered desk pick up. This was extremely inconvenient and set me back. The desk attendant was nice enough, though she made some comments that were derogatory towards Uhaul and were not helpful to quelling my frustration. This was not a good experience and I will not be back anytime soon.
They used some of the time I paid for as a lunch break and not moving stuff.
We were to get In at 8:45 AM and we were not allowed to get into the building until 930 and so the U-Haul was not supposed to be ready until 10 never disclose to us until the time we showed up there WRONG SO WRING
Unfortunately the computer wasn't working properly so I ran a little late, it wasn't the employee's fault and they were as helpful as they could be.
I like that you can set up your own account and add to your order however, the website is not easy to navigate. I had reserved a 26' truck, 2 packs of moving pads and a furniture dolly. We had to reserve a day early to accommodate our moving helpers who I hired off the U-haul website which was very handy! When the day came to pick up the truck I called to verify and spoke with Phil at the Smokey Point location, who when answering the phone was looking for a battle for whatever reason and upon first speaking he came off as a smart-ass with a bad attitude. When he realized I would be showing up within the hour his attitude changed. The gal who he was training (?) was extremely nice, however Phil didn't get up off his ass to show her what to have ready in the truck or even to sweep out the truck before we got there. I verified with both of them that I had ordered the furniture dolly and 2 packs of moving pads (which should've been in the truck before our arrival) and they both confirmed yep that's what you ordered. We go out to the truck and open the back, it's totally empty other that the layers of dirt in the truck! I go back in to tell them none of what I ordered is in the truck. The gal jumps up to help while Phil is bumbling in his chair to avoid getting up and he tells her "it's in the back just go get it," so I meet her out at the back of the truck and as she's putting the stuff in says, "oh it's pretty dirty in there, did you want me to sweep that out for you?" Well, that would've been nice for that to have been done already with the items of my order in the truck! But, we didn't have time to wait for her to sweep it out so we told her no and went on our way. She was nice and extremely helpful and very customer service savvy, Phil (the one with experience) not so much. We returned the truck and only dealt with her Thank god cuz after dealing with the move, and the "moving helpers" I was on my last nerve!! Wish I could give it 5 stars, but Phil ruined that! Phil needs some customer service refresher courses! The other downside is the website is not a "friendly" website altho' it appears that it is when you first start out. Making changes to your account doesn't show up so YOU can see it, but they can on their end. I had made some changes a couple different times and had to call to verify each time and trying to call and talk to a live human is challenging at best! But...we are MOVED!
I was charged for fuel even though I filled it up before returning the vehicle it wasn't clean there was an unmarked large gouge in side panel of the truck and it wasn't present in the awful pretrip pictures provided
