The self pick-up using the app is a pain. I used the web portal to reserve a truck and was informed that I would need to install the official app to be able to pickup the truck. After I downloaded the app, my rental was not appearing so I called the 800 number and was told to wait 30 minutes to an hour for the "computers to catch up." Several hours later, still no reservation populating, I stop by the location to confirm with them and they said it was in their records but couldn't help with the app not showing my rental and i needed to call the 800 number again. Finally, I was able to rectify the situation through the app chat portal with them telling me how to manually add my reservation through the settings menu. Because the location was closed and the property was fenced, the app didn't recognize that I was at the proper location correctly. This caused delays in getting my equipment. Also, it was NEVER conveyed that I would need additional identity verification options. I spoke with several staff (by phone as well as a local employee on site) directly prior to my rental time/date but nothing was said about this. This also delayed my ability to receive the equipment I needed. All in all, the self checkout system is flawed I will recommend friends to avoid it as much as possible.
