The U-Haul truck and vans and pickups are always clean here. I have been coming hear for months and the U-Haul staff is always friendly and professional. Pickup I rented yesterday was well maintained and smoothly with great gas mileage. The locking tail gate is great. Restroom was clean when I used it. After receiving multiple confirmation emails, I waited for my Uhaul phone call the day before pickup day. I never got the call, so I check my online account. The reservation was cancelled, but the location never contacted me to let me know. I was on the phone with Uhaul customer service for over two hour s trying to find a solution since the pickup reservation was for my last day of my housing lease. I was informed my reservation was cancelled due to a Uhaul scheduling conflict. I understand that they have that right, which I also don’t agree with, but I should have been notified as soon as possible to give me ample time to work on an alternate solution with Uhaul.

The first locations that I made a reservation for in Morgan Hill,Gilroy, and off of Tully Rd. in San Jose did not have the trucks on my moving day because either my order was never actually assigned to them or the customer before me never dropped off their truck and the location could not get in contact with them. So I had to take whatever available truck that was in the entire Bay Area, in Hayward but I lived and originally planned on moving from Morgan Hill. So the drive to Hayward and back was over 120 miles round trip. I reserved and planned to move with a 15' truck, but only a 10' truck was available so we had to leave a lot of our furniture because our reservation was messed up. Apart from that mess up, the Hayward location was very courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. The three other locations where I couldn't get the truck, had horrible service, so the new-guy at the Hayward Self Storage made my experience go very well! The camera for reversing on the truck was great as well!

Next time don't try to intimidate a customer not interested to sign up for additional protection coverage. I understand it's an expensive truck and most insurance companies don't cover rentals such as them. But it's also not fair to keep repeating about taking up the additional coverage in case of an accident. I was taken a aback when the lady at the counter kept reminding about " getting into accident" and scare me to buy the additional coverage. You should inform not scare the customer. Rest you should let the customer decide for himself on all optional obligations.
