Walked in at last minute didn't have a reservation for a truck and one wasn't picked at last minute and was called and made my day. Everyone else was out of pickups or cargo.JOHN L.
I chose the location, A 1 Armor Self Storage Hayward, due to the conveniency near my home and church. I rented a pick up truck for 5 days for my church to carry church equipment. I had 2 issues returning the truck. The truck has an Arizona license plate of AL04861. Prior to renting the truck, I asked the store representative about cleaning the truck. She said that it was not a concern to return the truck unkept. When I returned, she stated it was dirty and there would be a charge. I was fine with the cleaning charge of $50. It had rained the day before and the truck bed was wet with dirt and the floor mats had dried mud. It should have been made clear to me prior to renting the vehicle about the cleaning policy. Had I known I would have done my best to return it clean. The other concern was about the liability insurance. I paid $125 to insure the truck for any damages. Upon returning the truck, the store representative wanted to charge me a damage fee. While using the truck, the lift gate would not close causing an inconvenience to drive the truck. The hardware that holds the cable to the lift gate platform was loose. The store representative made it appear as I caused damage to it and wanted to charge me for it. I explained to her that I paid for liability insurance and it was a matter of just tightening that hardware. Eventually someone from the store tightened it and the lift gate was able to close. I was not charged for any vehicle damage. This needs to be addressed and fixed so that the next renter of that truck will not experience the same issue as I did. I thought it was an easy vehicle return since I have rented a U-Haul truck at least once a year. It turned out to be a cross examination of 20 minutes and potential proposed extra fee charges. I may reconsider renting from that store location. This is second time I had a bad experience with them.ANNRUTH Y.

The van seats were extremely dirty and filthy filled with dog hair ! How can anyone rent such a horribly maintained vehicle . I'm happy to share pics of interested . But I would be careful of renting a U-Haul ever again.JIMISH S.

Large area of gross brown stuff on floor in back of van. Did not have time to pull out rubber floor cover and wash off, so had to cover with paper. I visited this location several days before pickup and was impressed by how clean the van was, but when I picked up had this dirty floor inside, and the rest of van was not clean either.SIMON A.

Great service! Was looking around for a truck for my move. Couldn't find anything until the day after of what I needed. I received a call Saturday morning letting me know I was able to pick up the truck the day I actually needed it. Got to the location and everything was fast; in and out. I would definitely recommend this location. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. I had no problem picking up the truck or dropping the truck off.MARIA M.

I had to travel 40 minutes out of my way to collect this truck. This cost $40+ in an Uber and also the extra mileage on the truck to get home to load. To drop off the truck at the end of my rental I had to drive 1 hour 20 minutes and a further 65 miles out of my way. Overall, almost an extra 100 miles for U-Haul...Nicholas H.

The location service was great, but the online Uhaul service is terrible. I would never use Uhaul again. They need to do a better job of setting up the online registration and drop off. They also need to clarify how drop off's work. This is the worst experience I've ever had. Thankfully the people at this location excellent in helping me resolve the situation. Great place to rent, terrible Uhaul online service. Would avoid at all cost of renting through the online service.Aditya B.

you guys ripped me off u charged me for cleaning which i never put anything in the truck for it to make the truck dirty at all it was just a mattress that i moved from point A to point B and that was it the other thing i didn't understand is i saw i am charged for easy fuel or something like that i didn't understand but when i talked to u on the phone i asked if i was charged for fuel and u said no so i was lied to and the last thing was the mileage i know how far i drove and no matter what u say i know i didn't go over 80 miles but i was charged over 180 miles and when i pointed out all the extra hidden charges on the phone u didn't care to listen u didn't even believe me when i said the car was not dirty by me it was like that when i picked it up u were not even working that day it was another employee that had no clue on checking anyone in to process the rental but anyway i am not at all ok with how i got cheated out of my money but unless u reverse all the extra charges i will make sure to let all my family n friends know not to go thru union city haulSamia R.
We ordered a 20' truck and you didn't have it. We were told upon arrival that we were supposed to pick up at Jackson but it was never communicated to us. We arranged for drop-off in Antioch but were informed that we'd have to bring it back to Hayward and then we were charged mileage for a round trip that was opposite of what we arranged. I was satisfied with this. I wish there was a little more information laid out to begin with versus having to ask questions. I've worked for enterprise before and have rented moving equipment from other companies so I am familiar with what type of questions to ask. Questions I've asked were, is there an over night drop and what is the process, what kind of gas to use, what is the easiest location to fill up gas at, what does the insurance i purchased cover, what constitutes as damage. Overall, I was really satisfied with the process, I couldn't really ask for much more.Samuel Y.
