poor employee. no computer on site and I had to redo all items that i did on line. The employee was not there to hook up trailer. the employee did not give me the light extension for the auto trailer. If i was uhaul I would revoke their franchise. A very poor representative for your company. I would not want to use this location ever again.

Hawkesbury Ontario is an hour away from our Preferred Drop Off location of Montreal. This location in Hawkesbury is not the location we were provided. It was Depanneur Cartier – 898 Cartier Blvd., Hawkesbury, ON. When we arrived, the store was closed. We asked the neighbouring store if they knew if where they staff were and were told the store had been closed for over a year.

The truck was clean enough but in terrible mechanical condition. Would not go in to top gear costing us a fortune in fuel. Possible wheel bearing shot given the noise coming from it. Loud grinding from right front. Either tie rod end or ball joint. By the time we dropped it off it was vibrating terribly. The vehicle should never have been on the road and had an MOT seen it I'm sure it would have been pulled. If we hadn't had a crew waiting and a time line to keep it would have been returned immediately.

I was falsely charged 62.15 for an extra day, even though my truck was returned early at 7:20 am Aug 2nd,2017. I returned it to the Uhaul at 140 John Street, in Hawkesbury at 7:00 a.m. and got gas...had the truck checked then left at 7:20 a.m. I later received a fraudulent invoice indicating I had returned the truck at 11:13 a.m. I filed a claim minutes ago. They change 4 time my location even if I had a confirmation. They change the size of the truck 3 time and they hour to pick up. NEVERS AGAIN I WILL USE U-HAUL. Only the service in Hawkesbury was excellent.

First I was suppose to rent a 26' truck from Saturday 8am to Sunday 8am. Friday I went to the location to see if by chance I can rent the truck from Friday evening to Saturday evening instead, so that's what I did because it was ok with then. So war everything was perfect. But Saturday morning (10am) the location call because they need the truck some as possible because someone is waiting for the truck, my moving was not finish then, that call at least 5 times asking if I was finish with the truck. Finally we found someone (my dad) to bring back the truck for 2pm.

1. Have vendor post a U-haul sign so we don't need to go door to door to find out who the vendor is. 2.Have equipment serviced ready to go. 3.Slow process to check out as vendor needed to go outside to pump gas and stop to sell granola bars. While other vendor did nothing but tell me how lucky I was he had one. This vendor was 60 km out of my way however no one in the Hamilton office I talked to could figure out where your vendors were close to where I was going. 4..Was told I had to pay for 72 hours when I only needed it for 12 hours and returned it the next morning less than 24 hours later as I wanted to go to the drop off when they were open as I was told my bill would be adjusted for days used. At the drop off (50 km from home) I was told it would have to have been adjusted where I picked it up 550 km from home ,they are just the drop off. I could have picked it up in Hamilton, drove to Montreal empty, loaded, returned to Hamilton and dropped the trailer in 15 hours. I've done it before. And saved money!

Worst location ever! I rented trucks with U-Haul from Ottawa and Vars before, and never had any problems. Never again will I go to this location in Hawkesbury...and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!! Got there at 7h30, to be told that there was no truck for me, even though I reserved it 2 months before. Her employee told me she had to call her boss because of a conflict, but she never called us the day before to say there was a problem! Then, the boss came and I was forced to bring back the truck to the location if i wanted one. It's a 1hr drive from the new location! And she wouldn't pay our personnal gas. She didn't even inspect the truck with us, there was thousands of scratches and a few bumps outside of it. Inside, it was dirty as hell and super sticky. We had to clean it before we could put anything inside of it. In the afternoon, she called to make sure everything was fine. Told her how I wasn't impressed with her service, then she told me she didn't need clients like myself and hung up on me.

My on-line reservation confirmed a 10' cube for 19.95$ and 0.69$ per kilometer. Upon arrival I am informed that only a 17' cube is available and then they attempted to convince me that they (UHaul distributor) were 'doing me a favor' by only charging me 19.95$. Upon return of rental, the UHaul distributor decided to adamantly insist on charging 1.11$ per MILE (Canada uses Kilometers now for the past 35 years!) which I couldn't refuse (in-spite of arguing to the contrary) because they had my 200.00$ deposit and would only reimburse me the cost of the total rental price that THEY decided upon. So it was kind of like, Too-Bad, So-Sad for you because I have your money in my pocket and I'm not giving it back to you. I also informed the distributor that the gear box on the truck that was rented to me is stripped and it would NOT be a good idea to rent it out for long trips. In a nut-shell, NEVER, EVER will I do business with these thieves again.

Agent was unprofessional. We were in a hurry and needed to get going. She kept chatting about where we were going and what we were doing. She did not seem to know how to operate the computer and had trouble navigating the web. She asked for my drivers license number 3times. She tried to collect a fee from us which we had already paid on line. We registered and booked on line and she seemed to be inputting info we already gave. My son-in-law had the number for uhaul was going to complain to the head office. She finally got the issues resolved. This process took 1 hour. No lie. She kept yawning like she just woke up. We were not impressed.

I was charged the wrong rate 3 different times from what we have agreed upon. It took them 3 times to finally recalculate the right amount, but then I find out that my credit card has been charged 4 different amounts. So my $140 truck rental has now cost me almost $500 on my card and, on top of wating 30 minutes at the rental place, I will have to go again to clean up with quadruple billing mess. Not a good experience at all.

I could not close the back door. I asked the clerk to do it. He told me he did it. the door went wide open on the highway. I checked what was wrong wich was accumulation of ice stopping the door to close properly. I had to find a garage to find a tool to break that ice. lost one hour. then other cars were flashing me ,One stopped and told me that the right wheel was very unstable. So I had to drive very slow not to loose it for the rest of the trip. lost an other 3 hours...And felt very nervous for the rest of the trip.

Nous étions sensés prendre le camion à Brownsburg Chatam (le propriétaire du Gaz express est très décevant!) il nous a fallu aller à Hawkesbury pour avoir un camion, détour pour nous qui étions déjà en retard! Bref, nous sommes très déçus de notre dernière location. Vous avez de sérieux problème avec le centre de réservation. Voilà!

The clerk was completely disorganized, reservation was lost, unaware of the status of the truck and accessories rented. Would not recommend this location again. Once the truck was return, the clerk did not verify the truck or equipment upon my return, no release paper was giving for proper return, which is pretty sketchy in my point of view.

Original contract on Oct. 02/2016 contract #22381321 was to pick up from U-Haul dealer on John Street Hawkesbury and dropped at Dino Auto in Orleans. On wednesday Oct. 26. Dealer proposed that if I bring back Truck to same as pick up location I would get a better price (87 dollars aprox.) instead of 167 aprox at Dino's but I had to return it within 19 hours witch I agreed. I went back within same hour and told him that it was impossible for me to make it in time so I would drop the Truck in Orleans at Dino's as planned at first but if I have time to make it in time I will bring it back. He said OK. When I picked up the truck the gentleman was completely lost and did not mention anything about the drop off location that had been changed from the original at Dino's. The dealer on John streets calls me back on Saturday 29 and ask where's my truck. I said I have dropped it at Dino's as agreed. He tells me that the contract I signed was to bring back to same location. When I looked at the contract he is right but I did not agreed to to this and was unaware. I should have looked at the contract before siging but I trusted the dealer. Wrong thing to do I guess. The dealer on John street would like me to pay 2 X $50.00 dollard fine ($100.00) for promised truck to other customers. This is the last time I rent with U-Haul. I am a very good customer, I have rented many times from U-Haul and was never disapointed. Usually I rent in Wendover Ontario because I dont trust Dealers around Hawkesbury. Even if I have to do extra mileage. I am very angry. Now it is my word against the dealer.
