Was charged a 10.00 cleaning fee due to trash under the seat and cigarette buds in the ashtray. Funny because I Nor the person who assisted me have ever smoked a cigarette my entire 52 years of life, and we literally picked up furniture, dropped off furniture and parked the truck until the morning when it was returned. The RUDE young man handed me the receipt, never told me the total until I said WTH, and then replied, the truck is dirty and the gas isn’t exactly on the mark. I can understand the gas however it was very close to where I received it but the cleaning fee was ridiculous. I explained that I had no knowledge of what was UNDER the seat or the cigarette and HE walked away. Never will I return to this location. LOST CUSTOMERS because I’m telling anyone and everyone my experience.

I tried to reserve a van online like I normally do. For some reason I was consistently driven to the State St, New Haven location on the web. I live about 1 mile from the Dixwell Ave facility so going anywhere else doesn't make sense. After several attempts I secure a van for 1:30pm pm on Saturday, 10/6/2018. A short time later, UHaul traffic called and said that a van wasn't available in Hamden until after 6pm but I could get one in New Haven at the time that I wanted it. I told them that this going to New Haven doesn't work but they really didn't care. I grudgingly accepted the New Haven reservation since I still needed van. About an hour or so later I realized that the weather was nice enough where I could use a pickup. I called Hamden and they transferred my van reservation from New Haven to a pickup in Hamden. When I got to Hamden they couldn't transfer the reservation so they created a new one. I got my truck and left. A short time later the Whalley Ave Uhaul in New Haven called asking me when I would pick the van that I reserved. I told them that I took a pickup from Hamden and that Hamden was going to cancel the reservation but didn't. He cancelled my van reservation. I've had good experiences with UHaul overall. This wasn't one of them.

My reservation was originally for Thursday night at the Bridgeport location. They did not have the equipment I rented when I got there. They had me call the customer service line and sort it out myself. They were of no help at the store. I then had to get a reservation at the Hamden store for the next morning. I am a business owner and rent equipment for work. This set back now made my delivery late for my customer. The Bridgeport store wasn't helpful at all and for the most part ignored that I was even still there. I am very disappointed with that location. As for the Hamden store, everyone there was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They get an excellent review.

I reserved this truck online with my personal debit card although it was for work. A business partner of mine who frequently rents trucks here every week sent an email explaining that although I reserved the rental the reservation should be extended past the two days I reserved, updated to reflect their name, their corporate rate, and should be charged to their card. I even advised this on the phone some days later when I was called and asked why the truck hadn't been brought back. I advised that my business partner made these changes with them.When I named my business partner the man on the phone exclaimed "Oh yes! I do know them! This makes sense now" and we disconnected. Two days later I was charged over $1500 on my personal card.The email from my business partner and the information I gave on the phone was ignored. YES, my business partner immediately called and set this record straight. I am being refunded the charges but until the transaction fully goes through $1500 of my personal money is in limbo. My fault for reserving it that way, but I was told the changes we requested were made and applied. Now I'm out $1500 until the reversals go through. Not an easy thing for me to float that kind of money while uHaul sorts their stuff.

Customer service was horrible. Kaden was very rude at the time of the return. At pick up they asked us to sign a rental agreement and gas gage didn’t match. Upon return we filled up back to level we received truck at and was advised that we needed to fill the truck up more after them employee sat in the truck on the phone before closing out our contract. When advised that’s how we received the truck Kaden responded with a very arrogant voice we didn’t give you this truck nasty. Please be advised we used the truck to move event rental furniture. Wrapped in plastic that rents out for over $300 a piece. There was nothing dirty in that truck. As a customer service rep and business owner for over 10 years he’s a prime example of a unmotivated worker. He needs a retraining on how to talk respectfully to customers. The truck was returned in the same exact manner in which it was rented and I am forwarding my dispute to legal authorities for inappropriate charges to my credit card. My company will no longer be using U-Haul for future events nor will we refer your company to clients looking for a truck during the rental process.

Staff was very nice and friendly. Trailer had flat tire when i went to pick it up. Staff put air in the tire and gave me all the instructions i needed should there be any problems. After loading, the same tire was totally flat. Good thing i rented a dual axle trailer. I went to a gas station and filled it again. When I returned trailer tire was half full again.
