This is the review I wrote on Yelp. DO NOT USE THEIR UHAUL SERVICE!! . Biggest rip-off and deceptive practices! Just got off the phone with UHAUL customer service headquarters to report their unethical, under-handed and fraudulent practices. The fact that they think they can just arbitrarily swindle the customer and talk down to the me, a female customer, thinking three middle eastern guys could intimidate me with loud useless rambling and nonsensical ranting about the truck only gets 3 to 4 miles per gallon of gas. I'm sure they felt that they could just talk over me and I'd go away. Wrong! Signed an agreement to rent a 15 foot UHAUL for a couple of hours, base rate is about $59 per day. That's doable. I'm okay with the $1.09 per mile as well. Traveled 17.8 total miles! Thinking the truck would get about 10 miles per gallon, I put 2 gallons in the tank before return to be sure. As soon as we pull the arrogant jerk give a half second glance at the gas gauge and spouts off, "It's missing gas! You have to pay. I said that's impossible! I just put 2 gallons and surely that will cover the 18 miles. No, No, you have to pay, you have to pay for more gas! I'm calling bullshit on him and follow into the shady looking liquor store where he is joined by two other creepy guys. He starts yelling at me and tells me to step aside so he can wait on the only one other person in the store. I tell him NO! You are NOT going to charge my credit card or I will dispute it. He is rude and cocky and tells me take it up with Uhaul. He then gives me the wrong number. No one will tell me their name. They say the owner's name is Roy but no one know his last name. He is abrasive and out of line. I felt very disrespected and instead of addressing my complaint, he continues to pretend he is busy behind the counter counting liquor bottles or something. I raise my voice and let him know I am not going to be ripped off!. He continues to charge my credit card without my authorization an additional $23.75 after I just spent $6.00 to replenish the gas used! I tell him to explain to me how 17.8 miles constitutes almost $30 worth of gas. He said it dosent matter how many miles are put on that they go by the gas gauge upon picking up the truck. The person renting the truck earlier in the afternoon kind of circled an ambiguous area on the contract stating there was less than half a tank. When I entered the truck there was approximately 3/8 tank which is less than half. I returned the truck with the exact amount of gas as agreed. when I called Uhaul head quarters to report the issue, they agreed that I was indeed overcharged. They also confirmed that the 15 ft trucks average 10 miles per gallon as I suspected. Uhaul was adamant that this market's charge overcharged me and is going to have the area representative contact me and reverse the charges

Nothing. For a location that wasn't solely a dedicated U-Haul location, these guys really knew their stuff and how to handle everything even when there's a minor problem!

They charged a $400.00+ charge and hold on my account for a $79 trailer when I told them I could pay cash... People barely spoke English... Very disappointed... I've rented several trailers from uhaul and never had that happen...

Basically , make sure the inside of the cab of the truck is swept out and cleaned. Also, I had to clean all the windows. They were really dirty . Overall experience with the team at Kings was very positive.

let's see ... it used to be $19.99 + .20/per-mile -- you allowed this location to charge $.69/ mi --- really? Let me guess -- Liquor Store / Mkt... should have seen it comming. And I reserved a vehicle a week in advance for 8am... you would think, that the person in charge --- would arrive 15minutes early --- to open his gate, open his recycle trailer, open the store, turn on his computer, turn on his display lights --- all before I arrived; NOPE --- I waited through all of it, left just before 8:30am -- oh that was the same time that i agreed to be some where else with this truck --- oops my bad-- good customer service is a thing of the past I guess --- I work for FEMA --- what do I know?

King Market did well and was fast and efficient. But the experience was extremely tainted by my previous experience with Santee Market location that FAILED to deliver on a rental agreement. Uhaul ultimately promised to credit our account $50 because the experience was so poor. I would serioulsy consider eliminating this location SANTEE MARKET on Woodside Ave in Santee, CA

The staff working that assisted us with paperwork was rude and sexist. Staff member asked for an id and credit card. So I gave him the id that matched the credit card payment. After the paperwork was finished, he said that my husband needed to sign because he is driving. I stated "no, I will be driving". Staff member then asked "why would you give me his id if you are driving?" I replied with "I gave you the id that matches our form of payment. You didn't specify who's id you required." He replied with "he's the boss and he will drive". The staff member was referring to my husband that was standing next to me upon pickup. Being a female, I was appalled about the way he treated me! I was immediately offended for 1. Referring to my husband as my boss, and for 2. His customer service was terrible towards me as a female!

Be specific as to mileage ratings if there truly is an increase due to weekend usage versus week day after a certain amount of miles; tell customers. Treat customers with respect not like customer is a burden to be dealt with.
