I rented a pickup truck and trailer that was infested with ants. First noticed the problem when the employee was hooking the trailer to the truck. The sprayed the outside of the truck and one area on the inside. Once I left the building, while driving on the expressway, I got my first ant bit. Then 2 minutes later..another one. I called the uhaul store and told them that the truck was infested with ants now on the inside of the truck. I let her know (general manager) that when I return the truck, it will smell like ant spray. She offered to pay for the can of a spray that I bought. Just bring her the receipt. Now I have 4 ant bits and and a brand new freezer that I had to spray down because the ants got into the box. Let's just say I'm a very VERY unhappy customer right now.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. They made the process so easy. Tyler was the employee that was outside and who I returned the rental to and he did very well.
After making a reservation 2 wks I'm advance for a Covington pick up I was called the day before and told I'd have to go to the Athens location. Since that is 50 mi from my home I said I couldn't do that so they had me going to McDonough which is approx 25 mi away. Then I got an email saying Conyers would have a truck. That is 10 mi away so it added additional mileage and I was charged more money at the drop off location. Not a happy Ustomer!
The truck was extremely difficult to turn ignition key! Thought I was stuck at gas station! Passenger side mirror doesn't stay in position. Truck drove great! Your employee stayed a few minutes late on a Sunday night to make sure I was good! That's awesome!
Please hire more staff!! I rented a motorcycle trailer and after my paperwork was done, I waited an hour before the trailer was attached to my vehicle. The whole process took nearly 2 hours! The "outside" guy wasn't able to attach the trailer and the "inside" lady actually left customers at the register to hook-up the trailer to our vehicle. Only 2 people on staff between 4 - 6 p.m.! NOT good!
Everything went fine and they were most helpful.
We ordered a second dolly, but there was only one dolly mounting clamp in the truck cargo area. I had to use my own bungie cord to secure it for the return trip. An additional dolly clamp, even if it is something removable, would have been nice.
We did not receive all of our equipment .
When we're urged to book the rental equipment on your terrible app or website - the location always acts like they cannot find the reservation - super frustrating. To add insult to injury - I tried using the mobile check in feature where I scanned the fr/bk of my husband's license as an effort to speed up the pickup process - all to no avail. It still takes 20 minutes to pick up the vehicle! The worst part was the vehicle itself; it wreaked so horribly of cigar smoke (which smells more like feces than anything else) - we had to drive with the Windows down the entire time. You should be embarrassed.

The customer service from the inside pickup was fine. However the truck I received was not in good working condition. When I first turned it on it vibrated hard, Then there was some white plaster all over the vents and back floors. I headed to go back inside to report it to George the issue, but was stop by a worker, that said George was busy with another customer I couldn't talk to him. So I was explaining my concerns. He said oh WE ARE AWARE of the plaster in the vents and back cargo. This was response from the morning crew. Previous person had been charged for it. So, I said okay and took a picture of through the holes. I had not been in the truck long, when I stopped at the gas station. When I came out and started the vehicle, the tire icon popped up, then messages about the right front need air, so I got out of truck to check the tires. I didn't see anything, listened for sounds like hissing, but the car next to me was making noise. So I got back in the truck and tried calling the number on the contract 770-761-3888 I wanted to tell them about the tire message, but that number reroutes you to Uhaul, but never the location, called several times, then the call went through a 7minute loop then hung up. Next same thing except it just looped, meanwhile I'm on another phone calling did not get anyone. So I started on my journey when I was a few miles from the gas station but not close enough to walk back. When the truck just sat down on the busy freeway. I pulled it over to the side. However where it stopped was a very unsafe spot because of the traffic coming off the hill they didn't see me until it was almost to late, many many times semi, passenger, pickup, would come right up to the truck then try to jump over, it was very nerve wracking, this was done so many times until I hopped out the passenger side, stood on the sidewalk, in the hot sun because I was scared, that if the truck got hit, I wouldn't be in it. I tried calling the location where I picked up the truck again, but no answer back to loop and hangs up. So now I call Roadside assistance, Talked with Stacy she was kind and understanding. Stacy advised to call 911, which I did. This rescue mission ended up being a three hour ordeal. Delaying my trip, which I texted my clients, one whom told me after my arrival that she had been waiting on me all morning, she could have told me not to come, but I told her about the emergency with the truck by text. I was loosing battery power, I had brought my charging cords, however there was no USB port, only cigarette lighter port, and ac/dc port. Was 6.4 miles from the first client when tire issue happened, according to Google maps and she didn't want to leave knowing I was coming. She told me her husband had just died that morning, I said what!!?? I was overcome with emotions, because I was being human so I started crying, she said stop that because you going to start me to crying. I said okay, Lee said she would be headed to hospital after I leave
Please consider the maintenance of your moving trucks. The truck I rented shifted in neutral several times as well as it would not immediately start whenever turned off. I returned the truck the night before with concern that I could break down while moving. The Conyers waived my rental fee due to the challenges and for this I'm grateful.
My rental was extremely nasty. During a time like this I was hoping they'd stay on top of cleaning the trucks and vans. I did not feel comfortable and unfortunately i was short on time and could not address someone about it in person.
Check engine and shifting between drive neutral and reverse better. Also almost stalled twice. Having to make a repair in the middle of a move would make me never use haul again.
