Great employees and great manager
Have your employees talk to a customer with respect. I had a horrible experience with Barnett Thornton when I returned the truck. He cursed at me and I ask for his name and he told me no. So I ask him to call his manager and he told me no. So I went inside the store and I ask to speak to a manager and the lady told me he was the general manager. So I ask to speak to someone else his supervisors that the way he talk to me is not acceptable . I never heard a manager talking to a customer like that. He needs a different job or get some training on customer service.
The drop off app was not responding when the prompt for the location. I had to call customer service and waited 30 minutes and left the vehicle and returned home because I had arranged for a ride. I call customer service again, later and waited 35 minutes and provide the information to return my truck but to return to drop off the keys.
The location was fine, but the rental process is not customer friendly. I was given the truck with no gas, but returned it with a half tank of gas. You charge for every amenity it service but there's was no credits given for my gas. My entire experience with this organization was horrible from beginning to end. Both my pick up and drop off locations were changed to non preferred locations far from my home. These locations were extremely inconvenient for me and added unnecessary miles to my final cost. I was given not notification of location changes and no choice in the matter, This is terrible customer service considering it my time and money involved in changes. I am highly dissatisfied with the process and the treatment received.

I had a horrible experience had a truck scheduled a week in advance for 8 am pick up they called me at 745 the morning of to say my truck wasnt there said I could come pick it up at 10:30 I go there to get truck and it's still not there and didnt end up coming till 1245 set the whole day back as I had people at my home at 8am ready to help with the move although the man working there was great very good with communicating and very respectful and was tryin to get us another truck from any location he even went to go get the truck himself so I could have it on that day
Cudos to Barry the manager at this location. He has assembled a friendly knowledgeable staff that maintains the facility running smoothly. I have a storage unit rental and have rented moving trucks on several occasions. In both instances the staff provided me with important information to assist me with determining what my needs would require. I have already recommended this location to two friends needing storage spaces.
I didn't like the fact that I was forced to drop off the rental an hour and a half away from my move in through the heart of Chicago and Then get an UBer ($40) back to my move in res. There was a drop off location less than a mile away in Chicago that I could of used but your rep told me they would charge me an additional $300-$500 because that was not my scheduled drop off!!!! Can't U-Haul coordinate between locations in Chicago and have runners pick up these vehicles from each other??? Why put the additional cost, stress and danger on the customer who just got done with a long move in the city???
If I could give negative stars I would. I was originally scheduled for pickup on Saturday at 9am. On Friday at noon I get a text saying that your my "reservation" (if you can even call it that) was pushed back to 6:30pm. Obviously that doesn't work. I called and after 2 hours on the phone I was given the option of getting a 10 foot truck (I originally booked a 17 foot truck) and I had to pick it up in a different uhaul location 20 minutes away. I show up, and what do you know, the truck is not there. I get my reservation pushed back another 2 hours (all during my moving day by the way). I get the truck and the clerk has the nerve to ask if I can bring it back in 4 hours... Long story short, uhaul is a terrible, and I mean terrible business. I have never written a review for any company before, but I cannot let this go. The slogan "moving made easier" could not be more inaccurate. Doubt I'll ever use uhaul again.
The truck walk around was the only oddity. I get we need to check for scrapes and dents ahead of time but there are so many paint chips, MORE than they marked, it made me nervous. It's hard to find all the dings. Hope others don't get charged.

Very bad customer service. Take too long to check out. Very slow pace. Had to wait an hour after pre ordering online.
Not charging extra when you not using the equipment I being trying contact the manager from this location but he or she never at work what a position..
Ordered and paid with a credit card ! Only to find out it was cancelled and there wasn't a Trailer when I got there.! Then to find the wrong trailer size and had to take an open trailer we didn't want ! And it cost more ! The Manager did make it as best as he could ! The original agent that took my order should be FIRED ! NO call ! No Notice ! Just cancel ! I would never , NEVER recommend using U-Haul !

Truck was gross
On pickup of my trailer, the uhaul rep did not. Price my hitch being too high and ball mount backwards. He should hear recommended and helped switch the ball mount to the drop position. But the rep when I returned it (Barry) did help flip the ball mount in the hitch for future use. Thanks
Rented a 26ft truck before it had a bad drivers door gasket highway speed wind noise over powered the radio and a couple roof leaks- pressure checked tires and brought the low tires up to spec-same for trailers I rented ! If you haul would add that to their pretrip inspections = less break downs/road service calls etc.
Trailer had last tenants mattress and trash in it. The location is also understaffed and equipment is not well maintained.
Barry did an excellent job helping us get our equipment and setting us up to get on the road quickly. Thank you
Thank you so much for a really nice and friendly group of employees. thanks you for all the help in making sure the equipment damages was listed before I drove off the Lot. Thanks again and I will come back to this location if ever needed, have a wonderful and safe Year.
This location being a UHaul run facility was great. No problems checking out or in. However these mobile pick ups...wow...a lot to be desired. Two previous attempts at picking up a vehicle were very poor representations of the experience UHaul is striving for . Thank you for listening.
Would have preferred the truck and trailer closer to my place of moving instead of having to make an hour and a half round trip. I made the reservation with plenty of time. I don't see why nobody could accommodate my wishes, I gave three weeks. The staff were professional and helpful where I picked up though
This was by far my worst experience with any rental company. I reserved a truck almost a month ago for the 665 N Halsted St location, since my apartment was just a block away. When I got there, they told me that they didn't have the truck I reserved. I showed them my reservation email, and they told me to wait to talk to someone else in their staff. After waiting almost 20 minutes, that staff member took my confirmation code and told me that they moved my pickup location to a location that was 20 minutes away (10 miles through Chicago). I asked why wasn't I ever informed of this? He chuckled and said I'll have to contact corporate to complain. So I went to the 4000 West 40th St location, and they told me what truck was mine. As we were getting ready to leave, my friend didn't have a passenger seat seatbelt. I also noticed that the miles on the truck had over 30,000 more miles than what my contract said it was suppose to have. I told the website they had me check in through that the miles were off, and they told me I need to go back inside to see the staff. The staff told me that they gave me the wrong truck. We then went out to get the correct truck and their staff pulled it up for me. The miles were correct on this truck... but there was no driver side seatbelt AND no passenger side seatbelt! By this time, we were over an hour late for our starting move time, so we opted to just go without seatbelts. But then realized that we had to pay for the miles driven on the truck, and they had put us as a pickup location that was 10 miles further than our original pickup location, and about 15 miles further than our moving location. Very frustrating, and I hope I am reimbursed. We've used UHaul MANY times without any issues before this experience. Please make it right.
