I called on a Thursday to get a quote on renting a truck. After discussing my needs, we decided 10ft. box truck @ 19.95/day would work. I agreed that I would pick the truck up the next morning (Friday). The u-haul representative asked me to go ahead and make my reservation with my credit card. He then told me the additional charges to the rental are mileage @ .55/mile. That was fine, I was going less than 40 miles. I agreed and made my reservation. I arrive at the location @ approximately 11am Friday morning. They show me the truck, looks fine. They take me inside to do all the paperwork. First, they automatically were going to charge me for the Protection Coverage @ $15, which I did Not request. We got that removed, then the representative told me it was going to be $70 and some change because mileage is .99/mile. I was going to leave. They explained Friday is considered a weekend; which it is NOT, the standard work week is comprised of Monday-Friday, hence when somebody has A weekend or weekend(s) off, those days off are Saturday and Sunday. That's just U-Haul being greedy and taking advantage of their customers. I told them what I was told over the phone. The manager on duty told the lady representative to put in the notes that when I return the truck, I will be charged .69/mile (I heard .55, but I can see where that would sound like '.69' over the phone). Problem solved, I left, used the truck, returned it @ 4. Upon bringing it back, the employee that met me outside where the truck drop-off is was more concerned about getting me charged and a receipt sent to me before he even checked out the truck, mileage, or gas level. I go inside, tell them what is to be done, and they all just stare at me like I have 5 heads. So I explain the entire story to them, while trying to explain the older lady kept trying to tell me to shut up and was VERY rude. After she realized she didnt know what she was talking about, I AGAIN explained the whole story, they went into the notes, charged me .69/mile. All in all, yeah I got the truck and paid Close to what I thought I was supposed to. It should not have so difficult or aggrevating to do something so simple and spend money with a company.

BRandon needs to cheer up, why would you put him in the front? Dealing with customers? I appreciated that Brandon didn’t walk me out to the truck, lied about how long it would take to clean the truck “like two minutes”..., gave me attitude about my last name and the spelling, had a vape pen at the front counter, forgot the dolly AND even though I did the pre check-in I somehow got out of there 20 minutes after I walked in... get serious about your business cause Brandon isn’t.

Our truck was filthy outside due to winter roads. The staff were joking with us, as so dirty, but said cleaning it up was their job and happy to do it. The gentleman checking us in was very friendly and excellent to work with as well.

Returning the vehicle through online is very harder. Key drop location is not updated as per online. It took so much of time on online to place return request.
