Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience with Uhaul. I reserved a truck online at a location in Westmont. After driving all the way to westmont I got a text message notification advising that I have to pick up the truck all the way in Bellwood. When i reserved the truck online no where did it say it was unavailable or that i would have to drive out of my way to bellwood. Thinking it was a mistake i called customer service and the lady advised that there was nothing she could do for me.. Even though i now had to drive way out of my way to pick it up. No discount no coupon for next time.. NOTHING. Picking up the truck.. I gentleman in the bellwood store was very nice however he smelled of marijuana... After using the truck for 2 hours I put 20 miles on it and returned it.. I asked the lady working if i needed anything she said no and look the key and walked away... Later on my way home I get an email from Uhaul advising out OUTRAGEOUS charge to my card. The invoice advised that I put over 150 something miles on the truck. Immediately calling customer service explaining the situation .. Advising that i only had the truck for 2 hours and it was almost impossible that i put that many miles on it she advised that there was no one at the store to verify the miles on the truck even though they were still open... She advised she would open a claim and it would be at least 3 days to before i heard anything... Very confusing and frustrating.. I move quite a bit for work and uhaul has always been my go to for a quick trailer or truck rental. However after this time i will not be a returning customer.

This initial rental experience was HORRIFIC, the previous representatives that I spoke to at the Grand, Fullerton, River Grove and Melrose Park locations was terrible! The 1-800 girl that call and spoke with me literally hung up and cancel the first reservation!!! when I mention the word cancel (playback the call they are recorded) I was constantly bounce around going to locations after locations. Then a guardian angel name Tay at 425 Mannheim Rd express and showed empathy with my frustration and had a genuine willingness to help! She took very good care of me. She understood my plight. Will I ever rent with Uhaul again....probably NEVER. Unless I can deal only with Tay!!! Thank you Tay for a Great job in providing EXCELLENT customer service and providing me a very satisfying experience in the end.

Truck was old and had "check engine" light on. Customer service was poor- nothing shocking just the staff was not welcoming and he was playing a phone game while attending me. On a good note, the truck rental was economical and did the job.

This location was not professional on the phone. Woman screaming answers to my questions in the background for the man who answered the phone. She took phone from the guy to talk to me. I only had 2 interactions that were pleasant. Upon ordering my equip I was given the wrong information spent Literally 6-8 hours with various customer service people to fix your mistake. I was hung up on more than once. I hope you check the recordings to hear how horrible the experience was. It is 10 days later and I still never got an email or phone call to answer a question. Your scheduling error almost cancelled my move and cost me a job. I was literally in tears at one point because I could not even get permission to get the parts from one location to have installed at a separate location.. It would seem you would transfer parts between stores so you do not lose customers. One location had appointments and no parts. The other had parts and did not have appointments. Your web site was misleading and caused problems. Your customer service people were terrible. Never would I recommend UHAUL and I am telling everyone for the aggravation, cost of a hitch and the unit itself It is way better to go with the competitor and get a packing cube. It was only a few hundred more and I would have do it had I had the right information from your web site.

I was charge 27.00 for gas when I put the gas back at the level it was on before right before 3/4th, I returned the vehicle and I used by credit card for time and date if you need to see my proof. I used the gas station across the street so there's no way the gas hand was at that level she claims. This is unacceptable when I drop the keys off I should have been getting a refund not charge more
