1st my time was wrong but the guy that checked me in was nice and got me in a truck. Bit the truck skipped so bad that I used a 1/2 tank for maybe 50 miles then when I put gas in it and took it back I got charged for gas and the female that checked me in was so rude. I told her it was skipping she said I can't help that. And started walking out I was following because I thought she was looking the truck over. No she turned and said go back in I got to move it. She needs to learn some mannersLinda D.

My only problem was the malfunctioning of the trailer. The rental dealer experience was great. When making a rest stop, about an hour into a two hour trip, fully loaded trailer, I found that the trailer would not move...the brakes had locked up. I called UHaul Roadside assistance and the person I spoke with was great and helpful. To condense the story, he could not find anyone to come and help. Good thing the trailer brakes decided to release...I could then move the trailer once again to my destination and turned in trailer the next morning. I did tell them of the faulty brakes. Hope they address the problem. If UHaul offers Roadside Assistance...they need to follow through and make sure it is truly available. God knows how long I would have been stranded if the brakes didn't release on their own.David S.

I rented my truck through U-Haul Moving & Storage at Uptown (800 28th St N, Birmingham, AL 35203) they ended up sending me to the pick up address above, which turned out to be a deactivated neighborhood dealer location. They said people keep being sent there even though they are not suppose to anymore. The people at the car place were very helpful and accommodating and sorted out my issue even though it wasn't their job. The truck I was given did not have the dolly that I paid for in it to I headed to the Uhaul at uptown and they were very rude to me about it and I still did not receive a dolly in the end. This made moving rather difficult and time consuming. My entire reservation was messed up and it ruined all of my plans, and frankly my entire day. The employees at the 28th St. location were not helpful and have terrible customer service, I will not be returning to that location. ThanksTanner H.
I had a reservation and when I arrived there was no in the office. There was a sign that said â€œout to lunch â€œ I waited almost 2 hours and no one showed up. I called the corporate office and no one could help me. On the spot I had to find another facility to get a smaller trailer which was the only one available. Hire more people! One slow person running the store is not an efficient system. I had 2 people in front of me when I arrived to pick up a truck and it took 30 minutes for me to get out of the store!! It was even worse when I went back to drop off. One lady came back in the store waiting to get keys for another truck because the one they tried to send her out with had all the check lights flashing. She said the attendant told her â€œoh it will be fine.â€ Don't go to this store!JOSEPH L.
My return obligation of the truck was for it to have 1/4 tank of gas otherwise I would be charged upon return. This reasonable and acceptable. After picking up the truck in the morning, I noticed there was less than a 1/4 tank of gas. Effectively I had to pay for the gas I used as well as the gas from the level I had received the truck and the 1/4 tank mark. My fault for not checking before leaving. Fortunately it was not a great expense but an area of improvement for the 1301 Opelika Rd Auburn AL to take into account.RICHARD H.

CLEAN THE VANS between customers. I typically have no issues with this location, but this time the van was filthy, including a cigarette butt and two false nail tips in the passenger door pocket. If they give you a dirty or damaged van, go back in and ask for another. At the very least, take pictures before leaving the lot so you have time-stamped evidence. Do this for external dents without UHAUL stickers on them as well so you don't get charged.Annie C.
