Advertised rate of $19.95 per day for a pickup truck is meaningless with a 99 cent a mile mileage rate. Sort of a "get them in the door and then sock it to them". I would rather see a higher flat daily rate and a lower mileage cost. That being said the truck worked well and rental in/out process was friendly and smooth.

The insurance option coverage should be explained in detail better. I was not informed that it would be charging me $14 a day for the insurance. I thought I was signing up to have a $28 coverage for the time I have the vehicle. That was a flat $28 to include any extension of days having the vehicle in my possession. So it's not actually $19.95 a day it's closer to $34 or $35 a day because I got the insurance. And that just kind of stinks, not really having that explain to me more clearly.

The mileage was wrong when I checked the vehicle out. I went back to the counter to have it corrected. The attendant acknowledged the error and initialed the change. However, my final bill did not reflect the correction. I appreciate having a place that will rent vehicles for moving things that don't fit in my personal vehicles, but I've never had a good vibe about the Old Seward location. If there was a choice in Anchorage, I would rent elsewhere.

The truck I rented had 3/4 of a tank of gas. I was required to return it with at least 3/4 of a tank. I think when renting, a full tank should be in the truck. If its not then a credit be given. Its much easier to fill the tank full. I ended up returning the truck with 7/8 full. SO someone is getting free gas from me.

Showed up the first time and my trailer was not ready. Aimee (spelling) the assistant manager was extremely helpful and allowed me an extra 15 minutes at the end of the day and a small discount. The next day I brought it back because it would not work on my truck. She refunded me as much as possible. Awesome to work with.

This is the only location I will rent from if at all possible. If the truck or van I need isn't available here, I will either go up in size until I get one or postpone what I am needing the rig for so I don't have to go anywhere else. Traci, the manager makes sure she and her staff take good care of us and are always consistent in doing so!

Customer Service was Adequate, Not Rude or Disrespectful but definitely not friendly or service-orientated. I just got the feeling that I was inconveniencing them. Once I drove my Uhaul to the destination where I would be doing my packing, I shut the vehicle off for a half-an-hour tops, came back to it to start it up again to move it down the street, and it was dead. The lights had been left on, which I didn't turn on myself seeing as it was broad daylight, but apparently less than a half an hour was enough to kill this battery dead. I tried calling Roadside Assistance TWICE, it disconnected/dropped the call both times after 15 minutes before I could talk to anyone. Eventually ended up using the online uhaul.com/help report function which was nice and simple, but gave you literally NO idea how long the Assistance would take, all it said was "This browser page will update in 30 seconds and we'll call you" but it never updated. We were crunched for time, so we just ended up jump-starting the battery ourselves, and I'm glad we did, a few hours later Roadside Assistance called from a random number in Arizona to follow up on my request, GLAD WE DIDN'T WAIT AROUND! The Uhaul inside was LEAKING from both sides onto our stuff. We had water on our mattresses and our boxes, TERRIBLE! When I checked my Uhaul back in I was met by Technicians/Mechanics (I'm not sure who they are, they didn't introduce themselves and looked pretty disinterested in everything that was happening around them) I made sure to tell them about the battery/leaks so the next person wouldn't have to deal with that, the guy just mumbled and said "ok" and walked away. I was charged extra for not filling up the tank adequately enough, but honestly, I moved a roundtrip of 3 miles maybe...the gas I used up was leaving the truck running after I jumped the battery... I put "Not applicable" when asked on this survey if I'd recommend this location again. I would NOT, but since we have limited options here in Alaska, it's probably the only bet besides hiring professional movers. After this experience however, I'll probably hire local movers

The U-Haul that was given seemed to have a lot of mechanical issues that should have been fixed before being loaned for use. The alignment was pulling to the left, the breaks did not work properly (the rpm's when breaking and accelerating would drop and then jump quickly and vis-versa.). When this was brought to the attention of a worker, they said, "Unfortunately we rely on our customers to tell us when something is wrong with the vehicle." That is incredibly concerning, as it makes it sound like the vehicles don't have checkups/are not maintained. As a customer, I don't believe it should be my job, or my safety risk, to inform you when there is an issue. Granted, the issues I had with the U-Haul were minor other than the breaks, it is scary to think that I could have had a vehicle where the breaks didn't work at all, and it was up to me to report that after I had been loaned the U-Haul.
