The online check in was repetitive and frustrating. Moving day is stressful and uhaul did not make this process any easier. I had completed the online check in, but had to put additional information in the day of, that was incredible frustrating. On top of that, the first truck I was assigned was also assigned to someone else. Overall, not a great experience

Registration process was horrible. Slow and kept freezing. Took 50 mins to get my vehicle and lost 50 mins of the rental time.
I used the automatic phone app process - which was generally quite good. It requires a lot of information at the time of the pickup that could be submitted beforehand (e.g. drivers license photo) and would reduce the stress of following all the steps. My main critique was the system to pick up the dollies I ordered. I still had to go into the office to get them, negating the point of using the app. The location also did not even have the dollies I requested - thankfully there was an appliance dolly I could substitute for the utility dolly I ordered, but if more people renting trucks/vans had needed dollies, there would not have been enough.
No contract provided. Told I was getting it electronically which I did not. The online uhaul system is not user friendly and is a hassle.

The 24/7 pickup app didnâ€™t work. I had to wait 2.5 hours for the store to open.
Would give zero stars if I could. Somehow managed to top the last horrible experience I had with uhaul, will not be returning.

I was charged $12 for a state rental tax when the law says the tax should only be $2???
The milage was incorrect. The gas level was incorrect. The vehicle was veeeeery damaged. I was told they would fix the discrepancy in gas and milage, but I called today and still haven't seen it fixed. I know you are a big company and have a lot going on, but this was one of the worse customer experiences I have ever had. With any company. Ever. Please contact me!!!! I am being over charged by about 25%
There were some pretty tight spots, I would choose a Uhaul center next time!
Although we had a good experience with the UHaul vehicle itself, we did not have a good experience when we were getting our key when we showed up at our registration time. The man who helped us, Hector, spoke very softly and inaudibly, making it difficult to understand his directions. We walked away feeling very confused as to what we should do, and we were given no directions as to what to do when we were returning the vehicle. At one point, we asked him to specifiy if we were getting the insurance, and he responded very vaguely to our question, leading us to be unsure as to whether or not we had insurance. This became a crucial question in our UHaul experience when we had a fender bender with the UHaul. His lack of direction made this experience much worse than it needed to be, without the security of knowing if we had the CDW.
Everything went pretty smoothly! The only issue was that my reservation started at 9 and I didn't receive my keys until around 9:20. There should be a way to do the self check in steps (photographing license, etc) BEFORE the reservation starts, so that drivers can start driving when the reservation starts, not 20 minutes later.
I had selected the truck share 24/7 option but still had to go inside to check in which took way longer than expected
When I arrived to pick up my rental, no one on site had access to the lockbox containing the keys to all rental vehicles. The single employee on duty did not seem to know what was going on and did not make any attempts to compensate me for my wasted time or my frustration with the minimal attempts to resolve the issue, as they left me to wait, without any solution, while they attended to another customer for over 30 minutes. I don't understand why there was not a U-Haul-specific service associate on site, since it seems like the Value Store It associates do not have access to or information about the U-Haul services at this location. I ended up receiving the rental an hour late, but it seemed like it was just by chance that I was able to get a rental vehicle at all. On the whole a negative experience.
The representative (Rob) who helped was so awesome, he was very helpful answered all of our questions and gave a full tour of the vehicle which was really helpful because there was no way we would have known where the gas tank was unless he took his time to show us the vehicle. Rob was awesome and the other staff was friendly also.
The uhaul rates seem to be too high. A $19.95 rental turning to $98 is too much. If there were more locations to bring them to that would save mileage.

My review of poor goes beyond this single location. When I made my original reservation, I made it in Waltham, MA to pick-up a van after-hours. An hour before the assigned pick-up, I was called to be told that my van had not been delivered by the person using it previously. My pick-up location was moved to Brighton. There were several vans there but apparently none had been put aside for me to pick-up after hours. Therefore, I had to call customer service again and go to a third location in Allston. In all of these three places, I had to struggle to find parking!!! This has been the worst experience with UHAUL I've ever had and I don't ever wish this upon anyone else. HORRIBLE experience and service. I would have been better off with Home Depot.
