Personally, I would never recommend this company to anyone. several years ago when renting a van, which was reserved months in advance, I got there and they didn't have one for me and it was for a film shoot and it cost my production $4000. Today it took them an extra 30 minutes to figure out how to release the van to me despite me doing everything correctly they called customer support and they were not helpful either the person who helped me working there Was nice, but the company as a whole is a disaster. It should be much simpler and if you reserve it should be guaranteed. I feel I should just get my money back.JOSEPH L.

The lot is WAY TOO SMALL for UHaul trucks. I missed it the first time when I was looking for it for my rental return. The location was clean but not inviting which is why I said "NO" to that question. Why not inviting? Because there were no signs telling where to park the truck for returns, so I pulled up into their TINY parking lot, thereby blocking 4 or 5 cars that were parked in the lot. Then the staff asked ME to back the 15' truck out into the street with oncoming traffic and somehow maneuver it into a small alley beside their building. I of course rejected that request because it was obviously too dangerous for me to execute that with a large truck, and besides I had already returned it at this point. She then moved the truck herself but she never should have asked me to do it. They were not busy at all. I was the only customer.James F.

I brought back the van with the amount of fuel I was required to by the contract, where it was when I took the vehicle, but my receipt shows I brought it back almost empty, I was charged an extra $100 for this. I drove the vehicle 18 miles, the fuel tank did not go from 5/8 full to less 1/8 full. Disputing this charge but the person on the phone said there's a good chance I lose due to not taking a picture of the fuel gauge once I left the vehicle. What a scam.Zachary R.

The reservation was for 10am pick up, we did not get the truck until almost 10:30. The woman at the desk was on personal calls for about 5-10 minutes while attempting to get our truck rental set up. The reservation was for a 10ft truck, we were given a 15ft truck. When I asked if it would be the same price since that was all they had available, the person said yes. When I received my invoice, the price was higher than it was supposed to be. When returning the truck, an employee that was leaving asked us to parallel park the 15ft truck in a space too small and when we refused because of this, she seemed irritated.Angelica H.
Our rental was supposed to start at 10am, as soon as the location opened - the person running the store didn't show up until 20 minutes later. After that, it went well but she could have been nicer. She didn't really seem like she cared about running behind when there were people waiting for the store to open.Brandon P.
I was charged twice. Once at pickup of vehicle which I expected. Again the next day. I returned the truck after hours as I explained I would. I followed the return instructions on webpage and returned with 1/4 of a tank as instructed. I put keys in return box as they asked me to when I explained I would be leaving my car in their lot. I called the number on their website and spoke to a representative who stated I should be receiving a call from the manager of the location. Never received the call. It be great to not lie to the customers. My order said "Due at pickup: $27", I got charged $65 instead. Almost 3 times as much is just ridiculous. When I complained they didn't even review my order just said that that was what I had to payMaxim D.
Check in was a nightmare. The app kept crashing/having difficulty connecting. Drop off instructions were vague, customer instant message slow and not helpful. Parking was a nightmare, both dolleys I requested and was charged for were not in the truck, check in time took forever. Overall, HORRIBLE experience.Heather G.

I already sent an email to Uhaul customer service. Combination did not work on lock box at original location . Was told by UHaul I had to drive 15 minutes to another location. Was 1 hour late for my delivery. Allston location was great, Watertown location should reimburse me for what I paid at the Allston location. I will go to the competition next time.Michael W.

The truck had a tricky ignition that was very hard to start. Would be really nice to have that fixed and not sit there for 10 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong. The truck was also not full, so at fill up before return I had to guess how much gas to get to the level it started at (~1/4 tank), and ended up putting in more than I used. Between the truck needing maintenance and having very little gasoline in the tank at start, I would make sure to choose another location. The return was also a pain. Usually I just drop my key in the box, but there was a big process with a bunch of photos I had to complete at return because I returned at 8pm.Lori S.
The rates on the website don't match your real rates. It should be made clear, on the website, the amount of taxes and the fuel policy. It is extremely misleading.Vasco P.
Well, everything was good and the staff was friendly. But I scheduled for 8:30am to make things faster/earlier. I was there at 8:30 but told to wait until 9:00am until the staff comes... I had to wait around in the cold weather and delay everything by half an hour. Thankfully, I did not have a problem but there could have been so many things. Never received any apology or discount or something to compensate for. That's kind of not nice.Enes S.

I arrived at 9:45 for my 9am online pick up. I left the parking lot at 11:00. Reasons were two fold: I did not know the uhaul store's wifi password, and i was unable to move my van out of the parking spot until two other customers (who arrived after me), had pulled out of their adjacent spots. -The employee was lovely and calm and asked how she could help. -impossible (at least for a normal driving, which most costumers are) to move the vans out of their space along the storage building's wall bc of the "Spot Hero" parking spot across from the vans. It was impossible for the 2nd and 3rd (mine) van to get out without either the first van moving, or the "Spot Hero" car moving (which was out of our control). If you aren't going to change the parking arrangement, you need to at least make sure that the first van you sign out is the 1st one in the line.Grace F.

I was unable to pick up the truck at had reserved at the arranged location and was forced to go to a separate location. This loss of time forced me to lose the help of a mover that I had arranged, making the entire job more difficult. I was also told that if the truck was not returned with the same level of fuel that I would be charged $6.50/gallon. I judged that the extra charge was fair for the convenience. I was not told about the $30 fuel surcharge. I request that this charge be removed. Thank you.Brian G.

Equipment I pre-ordered (dolly + furniture pads) was not available in store when I picked up my truck. I don't understand why you would be able to pre-order equipment that is either unavailable at that location, or the store decided to rent out that equipment to someone else before you. Additionally, we were told that the 10' truck would have a ramp when we ordered, it does not. Last and worst of all, the truck had troubles starting on multiple occasions including when we were picking it up at Value Store It. There were no other trucks available to take so we had to use this one, and it added considerable time to our moving experience.Brett T.
Original contract had my daughter's name as authorized driver after my driver's license was entered in system. I had them redo it and now I have been charged twice. Suggest you train your employees to understand legalities involved and make sure contracts are filled out correctly.Majorie B.

I was given a number to call when I arrived in Brighton to return my vehicle with no drop off location. When I called the number, it insisted check my rental agreement which contained the number I just called. So I looked to see which uhaul was the closest to me and living on the brighton/allston line, I went to a Uhaul that was less than 0.5 miles away. I get a call in the morning that I wasn't supposed to leave the vehicle there. I was charged a $200 relocation fee. Please do better.WEBB C.

The location is accessible to individuals with storage at the same place and that is very convenient. The equipment was not exactly well maintained and while it is acceptable for short-term trips, I cannot imagine moving across the state, and let alone across country on it.Juan L.

Value It was great! Great company and helpful employees. I am simply pissed off by uHaul lack of communications. I reserved a storage unit a month in advance and then, upon arrival, they didnt have any left. In the city or surrounding areas. That's ludicrous! And unprofessional. I was depending on that storage unit andit didn't happen. Then why do I need a uhaul truck? I didn't need it becAlyssa G.
We missed the fact that there would be a mobile drop-off procedure, which we would be required to complete before dropping off the key, as the drop-box only indicated to START the drop-off there. As such, we're sorry that we were not able to complete it accurately. I would strongly recommend a prominent sign in the vicinity of the dropbox that states that a customer should have COMPLETED the drop off procedure BEFORE dropping the key.Lydia R.
Hector turned an unfortunate situation into a positive one. The 10' truck I had rented hadn't been returned yet and was about two hours late. He offered us water and a comfortable place to sit. We waited about an hour before he got us into an alternate solution (a somewhat smaller cargo van) that worked out just fine instead. Hector kept us in the loop the whole time as he scrambled to get the problem taken care of. I highly recommend Hector's customer service instincts - thank you.Barry M.
