This location is absolutely horrible and should be shut down or lose their U-Haul contract. They are a poor representation of the U-Haul brand. During this critical time they aren't even follow COVID 19 protocol. They provided my family with a truck that hadn't even been cleaned since the last customer rented it. Their was a dirty mask and other items in the truck left behind from the previous renter. They then charged me for their negligence!

Since it's a third party company that works with U-Haul, the customer service was really bad. The guy at the desk didn't seem to care or help, And he was even a little bit rude. I specifically ordered a van, but when I arrived at the designated time I was told there are only trucks available.

When I picked up my u-haul I was not informed about various issues and defects of the truck including the front bumper hanging on by duct tape, the driver's side door failing to close from time to time including while driving, and a chip in the window. If these issues had been brought to my attention I would not have driven the truck I received. Furthermore, the price estimate I received was four times that of what I received initially.

These people didn't know what they were doing, and ended up wasting a precious 4 hours of the day I was meant to pack up and leave town. Unacceptable how slowly they diagnosed their own issues. I had originally booked the Brighton Uhaul location and was moved to Allston without being asked my preference - stick with another branch, save your time.

I suggest to push a notification to notify the driver to return the car like 30 minutes/1 hour before the drop off time. Sometimes the customers just lose the sense of time. Also it would be better to notify the customer that the car can be picked up earlier than the scheduled time if it's available, since the price is calculated by mileage anyway. Also I'm a software engineer with strong math and robotics engineering, and is looking for a new job. If U-haul has a job opening to develop any AI car/truck/van share system, I'm glad to learn more.

UHAUL forces a location verification, my phone blocks this. The amount of hoops I had to jump through just to verify my location is just ridiculous.

Actually I want to thank Hector for returning call with correct truck size info. Since Uhaul changed our reservation from a van to a truck, we had to be concerned about max headroom.

The dolly and furniture pads ordered for the move were not provided in the truck (picking up before hours) like they were supposed to be. The mobile pick up was hilariously absurd with calling references at obscure early morning times on a Saturday. I was still charged for the equipment that I did not receive despite challenging it with UHaul online and calling customer service to remove it from my bill. Only get a UHaul during business hours - the service is annoying and mobile pick up is inconvenient. Unfortunately they are available everywhere so I sadly probably will use them in the future even though I don't want to.

I cannot do the return process through the text link. I returned the vehicle on time and at the same place but uhaul still charged me $20 more because of the failed link. It's a really unpleasant experience.

Car parked near immovably close to brick wall. Website kept glitching and kicked me out permanently during pickup which made pickup take 2 hours. Extremely dissatisfied with mobile pickup. Will not use again; will not recommend to others. Got set back 2 hours on my move and UHaul customer service couldn't fix my return time to compensate for those 2 hours

100% a positive experience. The staff at Value Store-It were extremely nice. There was no line. The vehicle was ready for us when we got there and was basically brand new with a back up camera even. We were able to drop off after hours with a contactless drop off. We were really impressed.

Tell the customer beforehand that they will need secondary info, like a passport, or a secondary person's number to call. Logistical issues slowed down my check in process, and it was also not clear where the keys were. More directions ahead of time would be good.

Pick up was easy enough but the moving pads I had rented weren't in the van and the business was closed so I couldn't ask for them. I also rented the van based on the fact that it said it could fit a studio apartment and it definitely doesn't. I had to make two trips which lead to me having to pay for more miles. Finally, how to drop off the keys wasn't clear on the app. I had to rack by brain to remember the code that was given to me in the beginning of the process when I picked up.

The online check in was repetitive and frustrating. Moving day is stressful and uhaul did not make this process any easier. I had completed the online check in, but had to put additional information in the day of, that was incredible frustrating. On top of that, the first truck I was assigned was also assigned to someone else. Overall, not a great experience

Registration process was horrible. Slow and kept freezing. Took 50 mins to get my vehicle and lost 50 mins of the rental time.

I used the automatic phone app process - which was generally quite good. It requires a lot of information at the time of the pickup that could be submitted beforehand (e.g. drivers license photo) and would reduce the stress of following all the steps. My main critique was the system to pick up the dollies I ordered. I still had to go into the office to get them, negating the point of using the app. The location also did not even have the dollies I requested - thankfully there was an appliance dolly I could substitute for the utility dolly I ordered, but if more people renting trucks/vans had needed dollies, there would not have been enough.

The milage was incorrect. The gas level was incorrect. The vehicle was veeeeery damaged. I was told they would fix the discrepancy in gas and milage, but I called today and still haven't seen it fixed. I know you are a big company and have a lot going on, but this was one of the worse customer experiences I have ever had. With any company. Ever. Please contact me!!!! I am being over charged by about 25%

Although we had a good experience with the UHaul vehicle itself, we did not have a good experience when we were getting our key when we showed up at our registration time. The man who helped us, Hector, spoke very softly and inaudibly, making it difficult to understand his directions. We walked away feeling very confused as to what we should do, and we were given no directions as to what to do when we were returning the vehicle. At one point, we asked him to specifiy if we were getting the insurance, and he responded very vaguely to our question, leading us to be unsure as to whether or not we had insurance. This became a crucial question in our UHaul experience when we had a fender bender with the UHaul. His lack of direction made this experience much worse than it needed to be, without the security of knowing if we had the CDW.

Everything went pretty smoothly! The only issue was that my reservation started at 9 and I didn't receive my keys until around 9:20. There should be a way to do the self check in steps (photographing license, etc) BEFORE the reservation starts, so that drivers can start driving when the reservation starts, not 20 minutes later.

When I arrived to pick up my rental, no one on site had access to the lockbox containing the keys to all rental vehicles. The single employee on duty did not seem to know what was going on and did not make any attempts to compensate me for my wasted time or my frustration with the minimal attempts to resolve the issue, as they left me to wait, without any solution, while they attended to another customer for over 30 minutes. I don't understand why there was not a U-Haul-specific service associate on site, since it seems like the Value Store It associates do not have access to or information about the U-Haul services at this location. I ended up receiving the rental an hour late, but it seemed like it was just by chance that I was able to get a rental vehicle at all. On the whole a negative experience.

The representative (Rob) who helped was so awesome, he was very helpful answered all of our questions and gave a full tour of the vehicle which was really helpful because there was no way we would have known where the gas tank was unless he took his time to show us the vehicle. Rob was awesome and the other staff was friendly also.

My review of poor goes beyond this single location. When I made my original reservation, I made it in Waltham, MA to pick-up a van after-hours. An hour before the assigned pick-up, I was called to be told that my van had not been delivered by the person using it previously. My pick-up location was moved to Brighton. There were several vans there but apparently none had been put aside for me to pick-up after hours. Therefore, I had to call customer service again and go to a third location in Allston. In all of these three places, I had to struggle to find parking!!! This has been the worst experience with UHAUL I've ever had and I don't ever wish this upon anyone else. HORRIBLE experience and service. I would have been better off with Home Depot.

Don't fraudulently charge them for damage that occurred before their rental and then refuse to provide any evidence of the vehicle's condition before the rental (because you know it would prove you wrong).

Hi, My rental experience was actually terrible. I booked my van around 4 pm. I was told to download the app and that I could pick up the van after 5pm, the key would be in a box. I arrived around 510 and found no way to get my key. I called and was on hold for a long time only to find out that the key was not left in the box for me. I was transferred to another person, again on hold, then the phone hung up. I had to start again by calling and being transferred and on hold again. Around 630 I was told that there was no truck for me there. The person on the phone booked another van for me at another location, 25 min away. This whole time I had 2 movers I had hired that just had to wait this whole time. At the new location there were no dollys with my order which I had originally reserved and needed. I was eventually able to get a van but it was about 8pm after all the trouble. This was a truly troublesome experience. This month I have several moving projects and I will remember this and book elsewhere. It was completely unprofessional and it caused a series of complications. I had to be at a location at 6 and arrived around 930 because of this. Of there is a way you can rectify this please do. Thank you for your time.

It was awful, getting charged to drive across the entire city because the truck wasn't there. It took hours to just get the truck. Phone support was horrible. Really frustrated by the whole experience.

I got the vehicle with the check engine light on. The left side mirror was loose after I adjusted the mirror a couple times. I didnt report the problem and now I am being charged 300 dollars for a mirror that's loose. I know it was my fault for not reporting it bit is that how u-haul trained their agents to be confrontational with their customers. Agent kept arguing with me that I broke the mirror when the mirror was just loose. I will never rent from u-haul again and I will never recommend you guys.

My first truck I tried to do through the app wasn't available. I made this second reservation and specifically said I'd come at 2 and get the truck the rest of the day. Once I got the truck, I was notified it was due back at 4 even though that wasn't mentioned to me in person. Luckily I called and had it extended but after all the mistakes U-Haul really made my moving experience harder than it should have been.
